The original 1931 Dracula had nothing to do with Halloween, the movie was actually beginning at the night from April 30 to May 1, a dark holiday in Eastern Europe. The classic old horror movies are just for the whole year. In this special it's cool that 3 of them are together, actualy dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde is missing here.

Families used to watch TV together, and so they used to make family movies like this one. Now adults watch tv separately from their kids, so the only crap that ever comes on tv is talent shows and boring dramas for adults, and mindless, overproduced commercials for kids and teens. It's lame. Where is today's equivalent of this?

Dracula's castle is actually Lyndhurst, a Gothic mansion in Tarrytown, NY. I work there as a museum guide...it's kinda weird seein' it in a movie lol.

Notice how those kids in this clip weren't flipping out and raising their voices when talking to their parents. That's something you wouldn't see on today's Disney Channel. It's A true sign that the Disney Channel has gone to hell.

OMG! I have been looking everywhere for this special! I am sure that a lot of people can relate when I say that I am in my early 20's (I'm 24 now) and I grew up watching this. My mom made sure to tape all of these specials on the Disney channel and during the mid 90's the tapes wore out because we had watched them so much. I just love Judd Hirsch. I loved him as Alex Rieger (sp?) in Taxi and I really love him in Independence Day as Jeff Goldblum's adorable Jewish father ("Look at me, I look like a schlemiel!"). How great is he here, as Dracula? He really looks the part!! I thought for a very long time that he really was Dracula. LOL.
