You can make to the exit with out dropping the gold bars when u get past the stairs and inside the buildings or what ever it is sneak through to the exit were the force field is by the exit you can make it to the exit with out being seen once there stand up he will see u alarms go off force field activates trapping him in side there u r go through the doors to the elevator done deal 37 gold bars with out back tracking

Keep trying to walk through the barrier, but first throw some C4 on the floor because you have to kill Elijah before you leave. While trying to walk into the forcefield turn around and destroy some turrets, when you do you'll fly through the forcefield.

I had the same problem with the gold bars falling through the floor, but i found that if you keep one gold bar(granted your not still overenconbered-overemcom-whate­ver) you can drop the bars easier. Still takes a few tries though. Just save right before you drop the bars. Hope i helped.

Good idea for the gold bars is to have OWB and have the transponder so u can fast travel, because u will be over weight limit, and store the gold bars until u have 100 barter, and sell to a.I unit , it restocks every 4 days so u can sell them all for around 400,000 caps

Fast Travel to The Gun Runners. Put the gold bars in a nearby garbage can. Keep selling them bit by bit every time Vendortron restocks his 8000 caps. Also you can buy the awesome GRA weapons, if u have the add-on :D

It can be done with the assassin suit, sneak of 100, never tried the stealth boy force field stuff. I've done it many times by sneaking past elijah by grabbing all the bars before you go through the conversation with him. Then sneaking by him using the right transformer to block me from his line of sight, Till he gets almost to the terminal by the door, as I begin to touch the stairs get up and walk past the top of the stairs with the force field coming on after already past it.

No use for me :( The only way I can get through with gold is to walk into the barrier he pops out of but because he isn't dead the elevator doesnt come down. Somehow my game manages to glitch at points when it shouldnt but the one time it can help me....nothin :/

I found another way also. right after the conversation with elijiah, i already had all 37 bars on me. i ran to the bunker in front of the vault. i went into sneak [i had 100 sneak] and kept going into the door where you droped the bars. then i got up and walekd in. elijiah finally noticed, but was outside the field. he locked the field, i was in it, next to the elevator however, while he was trapped outside. then i just left with the bars.

The way i found to get the gold bars to drop through without falling off was to drop something else first like a weapon or a set of armor and then drop the gold...worked every time for me!!!

You can also just drop it when in front of the forcefield, or in several other places, and if it falls through the floor to an inaccessible area, it will spawn at the beginning of the area, by the elevator.

When I did this I activated a stealth boy and snuck around to the forcefield they say to drop the bars through, but for some reason, the forcefield wasn't there and I could just sneak through to the elevator and complete the objective to trap Father Elijah in the vault.

@9879novo There is another way to do it but most likely you won't be able to do it that way since it requires 8 EN and Implant GRX. If you also have Chemist (and both ranks of Implant GRX) it should be easy to do, you should at least already have Day Tripper before you attempt this. After you've looted all the gold bars and exited the vault, use your implant GRX 5 or 10 times in a row, then simply walk out. It will take a while, but you should have enough time.

@9879novo Yes, If you have any mines or have the demolition charge code for the vending machine buy about 6 of them and then walk out and put a bunch of mines along the way to the nearest door to the right and then when the force field activates crouch right on front of the force field and then you will get knocked and end up inside then Elijah will tp outside and blow up.

I got it without a stealthboy, it's damn hard and you'll need everything you have to increase sneak.

I went behind the electrical pillar while he walked by, and I think you wait until he gets behind the glass structure and gets near the console on the outside.

Or I think you just continue sneaking behind him, standing to walk faster when he gets to the console. One of those, all I know is it works.
