Well, they were invited to Wonderland, I guess, and when they wandered throughout Wonderland they found Meiko's cell and were murdered (In this version).

Miku was full of vanity and loved her ability to get people to do whatever she wanted, so she wanted to be the queen of Wonderland forever. At least, that's my interpretation.
