Fair play for trying to hit Layne but you are doing what most clones do which is to mimic the easy parts. A bit of what I call Vedderisation and an over emphesis on the American accent. Sounds very close on the low notes but when the dude tries to crack the high notes he just goes into his natural voice. Try gargling some gravel, swallowing some razorblades or what the hell, writing your own material!
