thats not french grip...in fact its not any grip, its the snare hand of a traditional grip in both hands, which is not any sort of proper technique.

I know French concert grip is hands turned up, versus American which are sideways, but I had heard that french marching was both hands flipped. Again, maybe I misheard.

Yup, it is. I lowered the treble side of the neck mic., it gives a nice warm sound. I'm also using a Bass Pod Xt.

The sound of the brushes are a bit weird on HQ. The bass sounds okay, but has less punch than your "Oppressed People" vid that I just watched. I can still hear it though and you did a great job. This is the first that I've heard the theme in jazz form, and it's great.
