This dude doesn't know shit about creating public spaces. Everything he talks about that we should do to create a good public space is the exact opposite of what he has done.

And they should contribute some money to building a light railway station next to the supermarket instead of building an enormous car park and expecting everyone to drive there.

If they argue that town centres change so there is nothing wrong with their building program they should change their approach to building design.

Absolutely every single storey supermarket in the country should have a naturally lit interior to make it more sustainable. Perhaps even better, they should have additional stories, on top of the ground floor providing flats or office accommodation.

Surely a seminar on urban design sponsored by Tescos has got to be a bit of a joke.

If Tesco were truly committed to urban design they would do the following:

Cease ripping the commercial heart of towns by building out-of-town supermarkets.
