If you want to go beyond the usual dreary propaganda, and actually learn something about how and why WW2 started, get hold of it. It also has a lot of interesting information about the First World War.

Maybe you're right that WW2 could have been avoided, but one could certainly make the argument that the Germans were still wrong for invading Poland. The only reason Poland refused to give back German-Danzig was because Britain gave them a war guarantee to keep Germans under Polish rule. The German navy was only 15% the size of the British navy. America was never in any serious danger from Nazi Germany. Not only that but during the entire war the Germans could not produce a long range bomber capable of flying to New York City and bombing it and then making a return trip to Europe.

Nothing wrong with Pat Buchanan being well read and pointing out interesting things about Churchill. I would consider Mein Kampf a worthwhile and important book to read along with Art of War, the Prince etc without necessarily agreeing with their ideoligies.
