Therefore I think older producers did all music with their heart and spirit.

That's dark psy, not goa trance... Modern goa trance is what SpaceChaos mentioned, those artists represent the newschool goa sound. Dark is not goa, and it will never be... Dark is even getting out of the psytrance genre, it's getting pointless...

You're technically correct, I guess...I think I speak more for my personal preference then as I was really into 90's Goa and have now found the same vibe with those modern producers I mentioned. I've tried the new Goa guys but don't feel it as much.

Every new release of dark psy that I hear is becoming more and more pointless and so lame. All those uncontrolled and messy sounds all over the place are dragging that style out of psytrance because psytrance has order and harmony inside. Since I'm a producer myself, I know what I'm talking about. Real dark psy which can be considered as psy trance is stuff like Manifold or Psykovsky. But all those new "artists" who finish their tracks in a single day are ruining everything. That's what I meant.

Just because you produce music doesn't mean your view is the correct one. I means you have an informed opinion.

My informed opinion (I also produce) is that modern darkpsy producers have mastered the art of hypnotic sound.

Truly sci-fi production married to musique concrète licks (not uncontrolled at all), with lock grooves and psychedelic dark vibes aplenty for the danceheads.

Type in "Flower Powder" in Google for a DJ who deals in all the colours of the psy rainbow...recommended.

You say "psytrance has order and harmony inside". It doesn't have to have it. Some does, some have other ideas.

What unites is that is is psychedelic and is trance-inducing. Psykovsky doesn't have order. Psykovsky has produced some of my favourites (propaganda rmx, wishful sinful) and is arguably a psy-genre all to himself, his new album is a bit over-indulgent tho'.

Manifold is full-on.

Manifold - X ray Attraction is a dark album, with dark themes and dark atmosphere. You may call it "dark full-on" or whatever, but it's more hypnotic and psychedelic than "Highko" and stuff like that. I was saying that some artists are exaggerating in their tracks, just like Highko does. It's becoming more and more boring and copy/paste style rather than hypnotic dark psy as you're saying.

There is a lot of rubbish in darkpsy, definitely, but when it's good, it's really good.

Just like there's a lot of rubbish in melodic psy-trance...really cheesy obvious breakdowns and cringeworthy vocals.

Have you heard Juno Reactor's Badimo? Man, I wish there was more of that style about...now that is a different kind of dark.
