@superfishx3 well at the end of season 4 rangers original command center was blown up by goldar and rito so the powers were gone. the last sequence earlier in the episode adam talked about how he missed being a power ranger he stilled had his mighty morpher alpha told him he should never morpher using that since it was broken cause of the power being gone

well if you watch a couple of seconds after that, it'll show the power draining his life energy. Since the mastadon coin isnt connected to power grid or zordon anymore it drains his energy instead of giving him energy, so the longer he's in morphed formed the more of a risk he has of killing himself.
