Great cover! I'm practicing this song myself and I have to say, it is quite a challenging song to play, but you managed to play it very well, so good job.
Hey I liked your version of Dance on a Volcano and noticed that a lot of the other songs I too have been practicing and playing for years. I haven't looked at your list of videos yet but I wonder if any Brand X is in there. I always benefit by watching other drummers play and I just have one small thing i noticed. At least once you have to go from low to high tom. Maybe it's easier being a left handed drum like Phil but it is an important accent in that song.
That's absolutely FANTASTIC! I've been growing up listening to Genesis and, yea, definitely love odd time signatures. Excellent job, and many thanks for sharing.
How about some classic Genesis? I'd like to see Watcher of the skies, Return of the giant hogweed, or Get'em out by friday. Congratulations, you were excellent on this one.
excellent drumming. When I first heard this song I wondered how this song would look like when playing on the drums. It is tricky with many time shifts.
Not to be nitpicky but you removed alot of the drum work from your cover.. was there a reason for that? For example in the verses the kick drum and hi hat are synchronized in 16th notes.. You only played the hi hat. And, you should be kicking the hi hat with yur foot alot more often than you did. None the less good job. cheers!
Great job on a tough tune! Great channel. I'm another progressive fan from the 70's, so Genesis was/is naturally, one of my favorite bands! The mix is superb as well. I'm trying to figure out how to get my old Peavey to plug into my computer! What do you think of Cubase? Ever use it?
Very Nice. I'm a huge Genesis/Phil Collins fan and you nailed this. Your set( sweet kit) even sounds similar to Phil's, particularly the Toms. Phil is not an easy cover. Always underrated, he play some very complex stuff and he's so creative. You've got some serious chops. I've been checking out your videos and I love your Progressive Rock selections.
I am loving your drumming covers. I have been a Genesis fanatic for 30 years. Phil has a very unique and creative style that is more difficult to play than it sounds. You're so accurate, and your kit has that nice punchy sound that this cover requires. Thanks for covering one of the most underrated drummers of our generation. I'm a fan and Ill be checking all your videos.
Let the dance begin ! You've done an incredible job on "Dance on a Volcano". This song is more difficult to play than Squonk but I think you nailed this one too !
@JordanWieber Hi...the mixer has a USB connection to the computer....so when Soundtrack pro is running it recognizes it as one input...hope that helps...
So you can record four mics simultaneously onto one track at a time or do each mic output get recorded separately? I'm interested in purchasing this mixer please help!
Hey Nirad GREAT JOB ! Squonk has always been one of my favorite Genesis songs and you nailed it 100% ! I just saw The Musical Box last night doing the "Trick of the Tail" tour at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside Pennsylvania. It was amazing !
Seriously.... one of the most talented people i have seen on youtube. absolutely amazing, i am not into genesis, but do love phil collins' style, and you...... on a serious note not just a compliment are.... on par if not... better to be fair... i am going to check out your other videos, 7/8 is hard, i did it for my grade 8 exam... sections of a song from 4/4 to 12/8 to 7/8... how hard! lmao. hope to be hearing from you! Amazing work!
Seriously.... awesome man... everything about your style, is like... great playing, it can not be flawed, keep testing yourself and you'll get better is always the way to do it, bigger challenges etc. Like.... love your fly on a windshield too!
Great skills! . . good drumming.. but booooooooring music.? what is it? ...Mind you I believe to be open minded..even then.....humm ......boring ..and your body language says it too :D
The MBP works flawlessly...I'm actually using Soundtrack Pro which is part of the Final Cut Pro suite for the audio. There seems to be no latency issues at all. I have the drums mic'd and sent to the mixing board that has a usb connection to the laptop. I monitor the audio from the mixing board. Thanks for the comment!
I'd really like to see you do some Kansas. Phil Ehart kicks ass and I see you definitely have the tools to hang with something like "Point of Know Return."
Excellent performance. Way not to chicken out on or water down the tough sections. Besides the technical ability and musicianship, the thing I like the most about your videos is the perfect sound mix. Keep putting them up, please!
Very very well done......mission accomplished!

A couple of questions considering you´re an expert. (I´d appreciate your comments)
How does the Macbook pro 13 behaves in term of latency with garageband?
Since this laptop only has one input/output audio port how do you monitor the sound from the laptop??
Greetings from Mexico. (I have a Yamaha DTX electronic drum set and I´m considering buying a macbook pro)

The MBP works flawlessly...I'm actually using Soundtrack Pro which is part of the Final Cut Pro suite for the audio. There seems to be no latency issues at all.
