You are a rude, arrogant, pretentious fool. Did it ever occur to you that I may be new to this art and that I am not familiar with Italian or Mozart?! I didn't know if it was the name of an opera or operatic character. You would think that opera fans would be kind and promote their passion. Instead, I've found most of them to be pompous, pretentious, and arrogant. You weren't born with an innate knowledge of the art, would it kill you to help someone less knowledgeable and very interested?
@flowersings Oh yeah she does sound a little bit like Renee Fleming! I never realized that before. Renee's voice is much bigger but there's a similar quality there.
Gracias A thebarroque y a MehdiCaps, las dos versiones de la pieza son muy bonitas. Hace un muy agradable arreglo Jaroussky y Pluhar en una versión más rítmica. Pero lo repito las dos son muy agradables.
This is a great Monteverdi song. Unbelievably, Monteverdi thought of it as a trifle. This performance is a little slow for my taste; I prefer Roberta Invernizzi.. The painting looks like John Singer Sargent.
This was indeed published (along with "Sì dolce è'l tormento" and "La mia Turca") in Carlo Milanuzzi's "Quarto Scherzo delle ariose vaghezze" in 1624.
