This is good stuff. I have the Maschine myself and I am wondering... is it opened up in Maschine software and then you control it from there, then you have your X1 with Traktor? And I assume you route those both to one sound consol which puts out from both softwares?

My advice is to buy these kind of things one by one. Practise with each controller, if you buy them all together the chance that you use your controllers for 100% is small. Start with Traktor and for example the X1. If you want to make beats on your own, get the Maschine. GL!

@TeamFragGutz - If you have a Mac you can use Safari to download the video, then use one of the free editors to save the audio separately as an mp3. With a PC, you can use sound recording software like Wiretap or Soundrecorder. Just Google 'em.

Not a DJ mixer if that is what you mean. Audio goes through soundcard (Novation Nio 2|4) and then into my analog mixer (phonic helixboard 24 fw mk II)

@alfredo2406 I'm only running Traktor and Maschine. The Maschine is only controlling it's own software. The Launchpad is mapped as my 4 channel "internal" mixer with the small app midikatapult.

Nice work Is the Maschine easy to sync with Traktor? I was thinking of doing techno livesets of my work with pre rendered musical loops of my stuff in Traktor and the beats & percussion being handled by Maschine live ins standalone mode. Is this practical?

@aikighost If you want it tight you have to sync them with your ears. The midi clock is just not good enough imo. I really like the combination with Traktor and Maschine, especially because you can make things on the fly.

@MortalBane Ableton will work as well and is even better. The problem is that the master clock in Live is rubbish, so you only can use Traktor and Live if you beatmatch perfectly and stay on the same tempo. You also can run Maschine as vst in Ableton so in every way Live is better:) Maschine is just easier and quicker to set up. Cheers

So are you going back and forth from using Maschine in standalone to control the drums and then to MIDI mode to control Traktor? And I cant quite see from the video, but which tracks are you playing from Traktor, and are you just looping them or are you just grooving over the whole thing as it goes? Tracks names are visable in the video. Maschine stand alone, audio > Deck D in Traktor. Launchpad is mapped as my mixer.

Awsome freestyling there m8. very very nice setup my friend watching this has pursued me to get a Novationpad and a kontrol x1. I have a mascine which im running DJ endo's mappings for traktor. pro can you post your mappings for Novation and katapult?

You just using Soundflower for this setup? How do you handle your monitors? Id have thought you would have a audio 8 controller or something?

I haven't figured a good way to monitor with soundflower yet, butt Ill fix it. Thanks for the comments:)

@TheMSCHN It is a pretty complex routing: Maschine output is send to "soundflower" (free software internal routing). Deck D is set to "audio through" and "soundflower" is also set to the soundcard of Traktor. The beat sync is in this video with my ears, just beatmatching. In my latest video I did it with the masterclock in Traktor. Set "Sync to external audio..." on in Maschine and make sure the Traktor virtual output is "on" in the midi list. Good luck!

@djleemg78 No, the things I have running here are: Maschine, Traktor and Midi Katapult. Midi Katapult, google it, is a very nice piece of software. You can assign every control on your Launchpad as a MIDI knob, also color and press function. I made the mapping in Katapult and then I made it in Traktor.
