You Plight is admirable but like other subgroups of maltese society, hunters refuse to take the kind of reasoning youre trying to instill here. Partly becuase they don't understand it and largely because they cant be bothered. 6. Conclusion. Hunting in Malta can be sustainable using some common sense and considering that the astounding majority of land in Malta is owned privately. It shouldn't be allowed in weekends or anywhere near (500 metres minimum) near roads or inhabited areas. It shouldnt be allowed Saturday and Sunday at all and fines should be increased. Enforce the law for a couple of seasons until the hunter realizes the gov. is meaning business. And, eventually, the maltese hunters will get into line.

2. This notion that hunting in Spring goes on only in Malta is a lie. All year round hunting is not only allowed but promoted and encouraged in many european countries including the British Isles. Stag hunting (or stalking), partridge, woodcock, quail, wood pigeon etc. etc. are perfectly legal. Farmers in Scotland actually pay you to shoot wild geese (considered as pests). Why do we have foreigners to condemn us in Malta when they have enough of their own crap to clean out?
