We all know that if anyone got hit with the full brunt of Ken's Shinryuken (Which is on equal level to that of the Shin Shoryuken) let alone his Shoryuken, it would have taken their head right off their shoulders. They only did this so it could make Ryu look stronger since he was consider the main protagonist in this movie.

@QUBECOGNITO first of all, calm down little kid its a fake cartoon movie based on a fictional videogame. second, its already been established that Ryu and Ken are of equal strength. Ryu is more focused and puts more power into single strikes while Ken is more technical based and prefers to combo his attacks together in flexible chains. That's why they're rivals.

I honestly can't believe people are debating on who is stronger between Ken and Ryu. They are fictional characters guys...FIC-TION-AL CHAR-AC-TERS. It's at the sole discretion of the writers...who are japanese in which case it means the story is going to be exactly the same as it is in every episode of every anime ever with the main character always winning and being shown as the strongest. Except for the Fist of the North Star movie where the bad guy actually wins. Which is pretty bad ass.

All Japanese writing is the same. The main character (in this case Ryu) always has to have the final fight and give the finishing blow to the bad guy. That's why I stopped watching anime after I grew up and grew a brain.

lol, yeah i suppose but in the case of anime where it's always about who's the strongest and so much of the story is centered around fighting, it would be nice for a change for every anime NOT to be like DBZ where basically no one can put a dent in the bad guy despite all their training and powerful moves except the main character. I would just like to see the bad guy get the upper hand on the main character and have another powerful character (in this case, ken) win for a change.
