if i play rim shots on all non-rolls (inc blastbeats) it drowns out everything too much and then i have to sacrifice something. woo'h! really cuts into the earphones
Just checked MCM gotta say awesome work. Your bostic technique really helped me get a more relaxed playing style before i could play just as fast but was almost killing my self doing it
It is a Pearl Masters 8x13 maple in Tamo Ash. I initially saw it at NAMM and really dug the tone. It was one of those snare of the month issues from Pearl so I made sure to quickly buy one when it showed up in a local shop. It came with triple flanged hoops but I replaced them with Gibraltar Die Cast since Pearl doesn't offer an 8 lug 13" die cast hoop. I also swapped the stock 20 strand snares to 30 strand Puresounds. Evans coated dot on batter and standard clear snare side. 13" keeps it 'fast'

Yes, always rimshots on the snare unless I'm doing a blast beat where it's not practical.
