  • i dig the sound, sounds so loud/like an older muscle car but its not haha, sounds badass man

  • HOLY SHIT!!! My sub woofer just inhaled my cat!!!!

  • this may be a dumb question but what do people mean by open headers?? Are there holes cut in them to make the exhaust louder?

  • @Heezy2090 "Open header's" meaning there is'nt muffler's or cat's connected to the header's and there long tube header's i hope !! all of the exhaust coming out the header's ..and that was'nt a dumb question, if you don't ask ? how will you know? right !!

  • Will you email me at jacksonsean18@yahoo.com. want to know all the little details..

  • @jacksonsean4361 you can just PM me of what you want to know.

  • Will u please tell me how to do this...I got an 04 mach 1 ..its loud now but this would be sweet

  • @jacksonsean4361 exhaust cutouts right behind the headers.

  • stage 3 heads?

  • @EscortSportage yes they are.

  • hjjdjsuhrhfbd sorry im cleaning the jizz off of my keyboard

  • i personally like the stock intake on these cars. it still sucks cold air from the fender. i put just a K&N filter on mine and ive been averaging 19.03mpg city/and driving around 45-50mph

  • sick ride bro!

  • Comment removed

  • i must say i like the sleeper thoughts but the intake would probably wake it up up top

  • nice sound bro

  • omg. nice sound. i love the cams bro!

  • a built motor with a stock intake ? that doesn't make any sense at all !! but i will hand it to ya it sounds good.

  • @Wougit1 the stock intake is a good piece. The cams were designed for that intake, it weighs less than any aftermarket intake and it adds to the sleeper affect. Makes perfect sence to me. Thanks. With the hood popped it looks like your typical low 14 second mustang... but runs much much faster than it looks.

  • @01gt46 what sleeper effect its cammed you cant really get away with being a sleeper anymore. and an extra 5 or so pounds for an intake isnt going to slow you down.

  • @01gt46 huh, going for the "sleeper" look...good luck with that. What are you going to tell people its a Vac leak? lol

  • @acballa3369 IMO b/c of the lsa the cams sound pretty mild , and the car looked pretty stock. I actually sold the car to a good friend. He's made some changes and is tossing around the idea of a new intake. If he does, we'll see what the real world results are and if it's would the money.

  • @01gt46 I could careless about the intake but honestly with open headers with or without cams it will be hard to pull off a sleeper look. I could see it running through a catted mid pipe and some full magnaflows or borlas full muffler it might be stock quite with great power! sounds great none the less.

  • @acballa3369 hence the cut outs

  • @01gt46 yea your right actually plastic intakes(stock) or K&n dont heat up as much as the aluminum/metal ones.

  • nice man, what type of cams do u have in there?

  • @ironcladgungrave custom grind Comp Cams from Modular Powerhouse

  • they are similar to "stage 2" cams

  • Put a friggin' intake on that. Good god.

  • sounds mean as hell. nice ride man :)

  • How much hp without nitrous

  • never any solid numbers b/c only tuned for a 100 shot as of now, but a little over 400rwhp. I think that number may be wrong, since the car traps 120mph. Probably closer to 430rwhp.

  • why nitrous

  • why not?

  • lol good point. jsut does not make me want to use it though becasue it kills your engine

  • have you ever had a bad experience with it? I haven't & I've used it for 8 years with great success and zero issues. Just like anything, if you do it right and use your head, you'll be fine. If you've never been in a car with it, you should find someone to take you for a ride. It will change your mind and make you a believer!

  • whats a cam? i am serious i am new to cars

  • the cam with connected to the drive shaft and the cams open the valves for exhaust and fuel injection... performance cams open the valves bigger

  • u got the general idea right but on this motor the cams are connected to the CRANK shaft by a belt and yes performance cams open the valve farther with higher lift but more importantly they hold the intake and exhaust valves open LONGER. that's what give you that loping sound.

  • sounds good dude. i never changed my cams on my cobra because being the dohc motor, you were paying out the ass for 4 cams. though i really wish i had went ahead and done it.

  • cams? or cam? i think you have only one cam. correct?

  • it's a SOHC motor, it has 2 cams

  • The 96-10 GT had a SOHC motor. 2 cams (1 cam over each head)

The 96-04 COBRA had a DOHC motor. 4 cams (2 cams over each head)

The 07+ GT500 has a DOHC motor much like the 96-04 Cobra, but it's the 5.4 DOHC with 2 cams over each head.

  • You gotta have the valves too haha just pointing that out

  • Who needs valves these days? :P

  • I love this car. It sounds angry!

  • nice car and i love the sound but my only problem is the nos. real cars don't juice. atleast in my opinion anyway.

  • I really like this body mustang over the newer ones.

  • Cut outs worth it? I got some on the way.. im excited.

  • I rarely open them and I can feel a loss in low end power. It's more of a novelty thing I guess.

  • i took mine off cause they drug on everything haha

  • the cutouts that is...

  • Ha ha you sneaky bastard! Hiding the nos in the trunk lol. Where I live it doesn't matter if you have cut outs or anything. A lot of people run straight pipes here including the cops lol on their personal vehicles anyway.

  • what cam?

  • custom cams from Modular Powerhouse, similar to a stage 2 NA

  • sounds beastly

  • Is it open headers or open cutout? Is that legal where you live? I want cutouts but don't know if it's legal

  • it's actually open cutouts, the cutouts are right behind the headers. It's not legal here, or probably anywhere

  • i think you can have cutouts behind the cats but not 100%

  • I don't have cats, like I said they are right behind the headers.

  • sounding badass and built, but no CAI?

  • I've seen some people gain minimal hp, some gain zip & some lose hp. I can't convince myself that the air will magically turn cold when it enters the tube. Most people assume that since there's no shinny chrome CAI that it's stock, it adds to the sleeper affect . You'll notice, the car looks basically stock & when the exhaust is capped it masks the cams quite well, this couple with when the hood is popped it looks stock as well aids in me catching unsuspecting people off guard.

    Thanks again!

  • its really not that it will turn it cold. It's mainly a matter of better flow. The stock intake is more restrictive than say a BBK or K&N. The air will only be as cool/warm as it is outside, but for every 10 degrees the temp drops you get an additional HP. Now if you had an intercooler that would be a different story.

  • sweet jesus!

I want cams so badly! I drive an 01 Bullitt and i love my mac catback / prochamber combo but your cam setup sounds badasssss

  • sick car man

  • that is the most badass GT i've seen

  • check ouit mine and tell me what u think of it plz

  • Why what do you drive, a bike?

  • haha that would be appropriate considering they make no engine noise hahaha. i think this car sounds amazing

  • thanks!

  • Yeah I'm just screwing around. I would love to have my car sound like this!

  • hey nice check out my vid its a o3 mustang with heads cams header2 stage 3 procharger throttle botty and the whole 9 yards

  • hey man car sounds awsome....what size wheels and tires you got on it thinking of getting a set like that....is the car lowered at all

  • Once again, nice 2v. YOu might like my buddies too

    watch?v=OHZbqu9XxKE

  • I keep watching this video over and over. DAAAMMMNNN!!

  • FUCKING SIICKKK!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah I drove it through the neighborhood and could feel that it lost some low end grunt.

  • You will lose torque with those cutouts open. It sounds kickass, but you lose power.

I had mine open and gunned it on the highway a few times. It feels less torquey for sure. But, nothing like saying "HI" from 5 miles away, huh?

Oh, if you go by a cop with open headers, pretend like your car is stalling and they leave you alone for the most part. I went by 5 staties with open headers and that trick worked!

  • hahah cool i should try that cop trick!

  • comp stage 2's aren't too radical, you may need to flycut the pistons though.

  • Hey man, mean sound! I would like to know, what are the specs for your custom cams? I bought a pair of comp st2 and everyone is telling me they're too radical for the street, but i have done every possible bolt on except heads and supercharger, so i think i have what it takes. Thx again.

  • definately. I'll be out there before long.

  • nice man ty 4 telling me i cant wait till i get my 2003 cobra XD

  • Sounds mean man! Bet you can't wait to get it on the track and see the new times with the new set-up.
