Thanks for this. I can see what youre playing very clearly so i dont need any sheets. I will start learning this immeadiately cause its one of my favourite songs. Thanks!
As a fellow owner of the rd700sx I was wondering if the ultimate keys expansion board Hammond soundsare good for the organ parts on this song. I have messed around with the effects on the tonewheel patches but that thick leslie effect is elusive. Anyway your take on the piano part is well done solid and true to the way Booker plays it (except perhaps that e minor chord). Nonetheless, really nice work. By the way, if you like Genesis, check out Cactus Floyd's posts they're incredible
Thank you all for the nice reactions. Unfortunately I do not have the time to react to all of them and I try at least to answer if people have a question.
Great camera placement, it helped me to see every note you were playing, and that was very useful. Also was a nice mix, good balance of piano and vocals. Thanks, I enjoyed it much and found it very helpful.
moving.been watching your vids this afternoon inbetween chores. great stuff, nice set. what you got in store for the future, covers wise? or have you considered maybe a go at composing? keep it up.
Thanks, I just bought a B-3 and would love to be able to play this song. You helped me out in a huge way. Always learning. Now can you do "Smokin" by Boston or some Santana? That would be way cool!!! Just kidding unless you really want to. Great job. Don't listen to the jerks that replied. You did great!!! They probably can't play Mary had a little lamb or Old McDonald...except maybe on the skin flute.
A real Hammond B-3 is very cool to play, especially if you play it with the leslie effect! The Roland Ultimate Keys Expansion Board (SRX-07) also has very good Hammonds (and Rhodes of course) but they aren't as good as the real ones of course.
I'm actually not familiar with the Gong Show so I can not say anything about it.
Yes, Joni Mitchell has made an incredible song called "Big yellow taxi", you can definitely count on that one. Or maybe you're refering to this song "Lies (all thru the 80's)" by Mannfred Mann's Earth Band who's again refering to Joni Mitchell.
One chord is wrong (first time at "seasick" and in all other verses at this place) - you play a C-Major (with E in bass) but it is an e-minor. Other than that: Great and pure version, very clear and good vocal. Respect!
No, I don't know this song. I only know "A salty dog", "Conquistador", "Homburg", "Grand hotel" and "No more fear of flying". Some of these songs I know the chords but I do not know the lyrics heart. I will look for the song you have mentioned.
man that was awesome. even without string arrangements or organ it still sounds fantastic. not bad on the vocal treatment either. it compliments the arrangement.
Thanks for your compliment. I hope I can place more videos in the future but I still have to find a better place to make video recordings. I can not make too much noise in my own home.
if its so damn easy, why cant you play it right.

Playing "Firth of fifth" is a real challenge. And the sound Cactus Floyd uses in "Watcher of the skies" sounds very close to the original!

I prefer ronh73's C/E over the e minor. I just realized how similar this song is to John Lennon's 'Imagine'.
