@labasse4 Try elixir strings mate. I think they come standard on the cole clarks. I know they make a hell of a difference on my pretty average acoustic
I love this...absolutely incredible playing...and what a guitar! I just got an FL3AC w/Spruce and Blackwood and I can hardly wait until it gets here...so cool!
I happened to play a CC guitar while I was down in Australia.. Hands down the best acoustic I ever played, it totally blew my mind.. I had not even heard of the brand before.. Now I need one haha!..
LIoyd`s playing the Cole Clark on this demo is amazing to say at least,, can`t help but wonder what Phil Manning would do/sound like if he ever got his hands on a fat lady 3,, ,, reckon it would kill the maton 100 times over,,,
Hey Lloyd, I know you check this thing all the time so thought i'd post some more love! You have no idea how much i've missed hearing this!! lol Let me know then you near Brissy again and I'll try to get Tor out n we can catch up! well take care
In terms of an all solid timber guitar thats made outside of asia, with one of the best pickup systems on the market, they're amazing value for money. Brad Clark is the sort of guy who's not happy having made a good guitar, he wants to make them better so you can be sure that they will always be getting better and better.
Guitars are a really personal thing but just about everyone who plays Cole Clarks can't get enough of them and no one can deny the value for money. Not everyone can afford to spend $3000 or more as many guitars of really high quality cost so its amazing to be able to pick up a really nice guitar for less than 1000. And made in Australia.
this guy definitely smokes, but his timing is asymmetrical at times. That being said, sounds like he has been playing for about 7 lifetimes. I just bought an FL2AC... Lloyd's demo was a big factor.
Just bought a beautiful Angel that was purchased from Davis Wheeler in March and shipped to a buddy in Tampa FL. rosewood & cedar. Question - I'd like to remove the black pickguard. Do you have a recommended approach? Thanks!
Hey man he is great! I've watched him play so much lately, so great at playing... and what about those Cole Clarks... they are fantastic, I just ordered a fatlady2AC with block Inlays, spruce top maple sides, maple 3 piece back, should look mint! its on its way to me next week! and can't wait! such amazing guitars, and Lloyd, well fantastic!!!rock on!!!
Hey, I had the exact same question in mind, I my self own a Cole Clark Fat Lady - whether it's Bunya or Spruce top I'm not all together sure, but what is the better sounding wood, or is it a question of preference? I think the model i have is a Bunya top.. Shameful I know! It's like for getting a your own child's birthdate!
I would say the Bunya will give you a brighter sounding guitar. But as you say it usually comes down to how you play and what you play. Saying that doesn't mean that's true. Since every Cole Clark is made slightly different in some aspect.
Just a quick example- when Lloyd Spiegel performed at are shop he arrived quite a few hours before just to get set up and to go thorough a large majority of the guitars he was to play that night. He did that just to choice which guitar produced the right tone and you could say which put out what he was looking for.
Sorry for the long comment:)
It all comes down to what you feel, see and hear. That's my view.
Hmm well nothing is impossible but gee Lloyd is gifted or just a very devoted bloke to his guitar. I'd love to be his son to learn how to play like he can!
Thanks for the kind words guys. The guitars honestly should take most of the credit. My playing is pretty much smoke and mirrors. The CC's grab the little sounds.
Lloyd, do you have a video doing a demo of the FL1A-12?
Mindycogswell 1 month ago
And thanx for the videos, i bought an FL-2ac after seeing this demo, but can't play as well as Lloyd ;-(

I would say the Bunya will give you a brighter sounding guitar. But as you say it usually comes down to how you play and what you play. Saying that doesn't mean that's true. Since every Cole Clark is made slightly different in some aspect.
