Is it possible to "rank" our fave CW tunes? All I can say is that I was lucky and blessed to see them in Chicago , circa '95-ish- and that, while I don't recall the date, I will never forget the searing slashes of harmonics and modes, in a package of style that invaded my soul, and never parted............
I'm so glad someone had enough passion for this song to go through all the work of making this video. Thsi might be my favorite catherine wheel song (even though chrome as a whole is my favorite album). Thank you!
hi there Richard, showing some love for your awesome video that was so much fun making with you all those years ago (tho I almost drowned, lol) Hope you're still directing, you're so talented. Been telling lots of friends about this video the past months so I hope your view numbers rising nicely, hugs, Leslie
I agree that you really need to upload a higher quality version of this. I've watched it so many times and I'm tired of the grainies! =)
You really could have been a music video director. The images you used match the feeling behind this song so beautifully. I think the greatest compliment to your work is that most people don't realize this isn't an official video. Can't wait to see more of your stuff! :D
@Susannanah -- Thank you so much S-gaze for the props and words of encouragement! You too are a very talented artist in the still realm and many of your still images capture so much feeling and mood without motion or having to rely on any musical accompaniment whatsoever. So I'm truly honored by your comments. :-) It makes me happy that you still continue to check out and enjoy this vid, but yeah I still must apologize for the poor quality and graininess. Will work on uploading a better one!
been listening to them alot lately...Black Metallic, Crank, Judy is staring at the sun, Indigo is Blue, Bill and Ben, Show me Mary, Sparks are Gonna Fly, Goodbye and Flower to Hide. DOPENESS! I wanna be so high or so drunk back in the 90's.
@EmmaEasterling -- Wow, thank you for the kind words and generous comment. I'm so glad that people can still appreciate this wonderful song as well as the work I did on the "unofficial" vid for it. Good times and memories for sure!
this has been a track on this album that i always seemed to come back to - special to me... i used to crank it from some speakers i had in the doorway of my barn....
I honestly doubt Futter could do that again - I'm not sure but I think he always alters his guitar solos - he just lets it go and it sounds good - a bit of a genius though! Awesome song.
My friends and I used to sit and listen every Friday and Saturday night to a live version of Flower to Hide after the pub. I think this is a classic. Great video too (even with the edit - I love the solo but it is missing).
This song is absolutely too much. It does indeed make one remember certain "trips"they took in the past when they never had to leave the location they were in. Far Out! What a great post. Thanks
mm...strongly agree. I discovered them when I picked up a free demo tape at out local record store in '93. It had Redd Kross,CW,The Veldt and James on it. I ended up liking all the bands on it, especially CW. I still have that Cassette...lol.
Good times metalefty67. I remember a similar compilation in '93 which had "lazarus" by the boo radleys. I loved it. Then I saw that Toni Halliday (from one of my favorite bands, curve) was in the video. Brilliant!
Yes,I agree..It's one of the best that I've ever experienced..!So softly sensitive and artsy..One of those rare dreamy moments in time that mesmerize and touch the soul so deeply that life's somehow changed forever..Ahhhh..sigh
Clearly the 'proper' length version has such an awesome buildup...and then it lets go. What an incredible dynamic it has. This shorter version only gives you a fleeting taste of that. I'll have to get the CD out....

Great interpretation. Just one thing: you omitted one of my favorite solos of all time; just cut it off! oh the tragedy...

does anyone recon that grunge took over when shoegaze went strong or alongside with grunge from 1991-1993?

You should re-upload this at a higher quality. It's incredibly good.

This is such a beautiful song. Great vid to go with it! Thank you.

Am I mistaken in the lyric, or is it, "imagine a lie that never escapes you"?
No animosity- just curious! Peace!
