@nickodemo1 What the fuck is your deal? you go out of your way to post the same comment on all things Charlton Heston? youre the one that seems like a prick. or at the least a fucking loser. get a life douche.
Guns are inanimate objects which, like most things, can be used for evil, but it depends on who is using them. Gun violence has to do with criminals primarily who do NOT get their guns legally (anyone who says they do is an absolute moron), and those who did obtain them legally and misuse them are irresponsible gun owners. That is the issue. Not the guns themselves. No, we are not paranoid, but there are many threats which exist, contrary to what you may think and having protection is necessary.
Charlton Heston Belongs in HELL. He promoted guns just to protect his rich ass. He even promoted guns IMMEDIETLY after a community is coming to terms after a gun related tragedy ex: Columbine & after a 6 year old girl was killed by a gun by a 6 year old boy. This man deserves NO tribute, He is a piece of SHIT!.
Let's just say for him the spit will spin and is ready for basting cause he's burning in hell. First let the minions wrestle that piece out of his cold dead ones. To be the poster child for a righteous man was supremely ironic. Hey Charlton, there are no second takes or mulligans in hell, you pile.
Ahhh yes now we can come and take his gun from his cold dead hand!!! Bastard is burning in hell now and I hope that every guy that was ever killed by a gun with no reason is there whipping his back.
What a wonderful legend of the screen. It's sad that so many self-professed "liberals" choose to remember him for his brief tenure in the NRA, (btw, I agree with his stance on guns AND our constitution) and not for the 70 years of his life before.
R.I.P. Mr. Heston. One of "the last great lions of old Hollywood". It's sad.
Charlton Heston was a great American. He understood that the government derived its power from the people. That the government was only there to do what the people could not do for themselves. The people were to keep their arms so as the government would know their place below the people. We are to fear the government, not the other way around. Power to the people!!!
You live in fear and your leaders have removed your right to have a gun so they can tell you what to do and you do it because you have nothing to fight back with lol
You americans, you americans, you americans, you americans, you americans, you americans. Do foreigners know any other Goddamn phrase? The vast majority of you have never stepped one foot on American soil, for starters, but those of you who have possess incredibly limited knowledge of this nation. There are over 300,000,000 (THREE HUNDRED MILLION) people in this country. Somehow I doubt you've met even the slightest fraction of the population. As far as guns go, get a fucking clue.
Charlton Heston restera toujours l'un des plus grands acteurs au monde et je me fiche de ses idées politiques ! ! J'ai adoré tous ses films et il n'y a que ça qui compte.
God Bless Charlton Heston & may he rest in peace! An absolutely superb, accomplished actor - of the kind we will never see again! AND to all of those intolerant Liberals out there, who have shown such disrespect & childish irreverence at the news of the death of this great man - GROW UP & GET a LIFE!!!
I guess the people commenting in a sort of gleeful, vendictful way would prefer that the government have total control of their lives, thus turning the disobedient masses into another Waco
I dont know him,i dont care if he died, what about everyone else who isn`t famous who die what about them you dont careabout those people u only give a shit about the famous people.
America is the only first world country where citizens live in a ridiculous state of paranoia where everyone "needs" a firearm. Everyone else seems to be doing just fine without them. Funny how countries with limited gun availablity have markedly reduced deaths by firearm comparatively. The whole "escape tyranny" is a BS excuse. Do you honestly believe that if there was a Coup d'etat in the US, that a bunch of gun nuts with automatic weapons are going to turn the tide against the US military?
you're 24, you have no clue of the history of why guns are a vital part of society. I feel sorry for you growing up in this day and age where they didn't teach you why it's important that the citizens of a country are armed. And it isn't militia either. Go read about nations that disarm their citizens never ESCAPE TYRANNY in the end.
I would be intrigued to learn just how much history you have actually read. However, on the basis of your proposition I must presume that you also defend the right to bear arms of those sovereign peoples of Iraq and Afghanistan who are resisting by all necessary force their foreign invaders, occupiers and pillagers. If so, we have a point of agreement. Happy reading Bubba!
RIP, Mr Heston, you were, a courageous American,& gave much, to the world. You will be missed, but I give thanks, that you are in the Lord's hands, & no longer suffer.
Great actor, terrific looking, spectacular physique, wonderful, sonorous voice and for an additional plus-an ardent supporter for Civil Rights before it was the popular thing to be. His marriage to one woman lasted 64 years and you never heard a wit of scandal about his personal life-quite an accomplishment in Hollywood. He was conservative politically and above all else-acting and looks, he was a man of conviction and character. Safe journey, Charlton.
I remember some of his movies like Planet of the Apes, The Greatest Show on Earth, Ben Hur, and the best of all is THE TEN COMMANDMENTS as MOSES himself. My kids love THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. I hate to hear that he's gone; but his memories in movies and broadway shows will live on. Thanks Mr. Charles Heston for entertaining us so well all of these years. You will be deeply missed. R I P
Mr. Heston once said, "It's not guns who kill, it's the person who pulls the trigger that kills."
And he was right. He was an American giant in the Golden Age of Hollywood, but despite whatever you might think of his eccentric views on gun control, perhaps it's time to let the poor man rest in peace and not hold such bitter feelings.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
He was wrong. Guns are far too accessible to far too many people. Heston is dead and I'm not sorry. He became a self-righteous right-wing nut and was at least good for some laughs in that regard. The only movie worth a damn that he was in was "Touch of Evil". He was a pompous jerk in every other movie he was in, especially those stupid religious epics.
Shame he went from being a respected champion of human rights, where his name could be spoken with the likes of MLK, to being a ridiculous gun nut. A hypocrite who once actually endorsed gun control laws.
Good riddance.

Charlton Heston se convirtió en uno de los principales héroes del cine estadounidense. gran icono del Hollywood épico.
Mantuvo hasta el último momento una gran entereza y compostura, similar a la que aplicó a sus papeles históricos.
