  • by exposing the Shack, people come out and attack you for touching their "sacred cow" and try and defend it with such religious fever.....it is ashame these same people do not defend the Word of God with such gusto The Shack is a cunningly devised fable He puts some

truth adjacent or next to error. he used truth to camouflage error. There is always real cheese in the rat trap. the Bible warned about men who would "secretly bring in damanable heresies" Shack is a false jesus and false gospel

  • @gauleygirl2000 What the majority of these people who defend the Shack only shows how little they've taken time to study God's Word. Deception happens to people who don't take time to see what God has to say on things and it's a shame too. Jesus said that in the last days before His Return that deception would be so strong that even the elect could get deceived, if it were possible. That's how strong the deception will be.

    It's here and now.

  • JMHO - Paul Young could pass for Bart Ehrmans' brother.

  • 2 Peter 2:1-3 anybody!!!. This book is garbage, people will believe in anything as long as it isn't in the bible. It seems like certain spiritually illiterate, christians aswell. They change God's word to suit their own misguided, laughable, delusional beliefs.

  • @MrPsalm53 Thank you sooooooooooooo much for speaking out against this book. It is so full of errors and totally goes against what God has said in His Word.

Deception and apostasy is here to stay and only to get stronger.

    God bles you sis,

    Linda

  • Not familiar with the Shack the only Shack I know is Shaquilie O Neal former basketball star. lol

  • Who are you to determine such a thing? I was amazed on how much effort went out on such a thing. And turned of within 40sec...because you went off of your own understanding of the book. It doesnt matter what book u read as long as you live off of Gods words in the bible. Maybe that book made christians look in a bible and saw that yes the book isnt God but it made them seek God a bit more in the bible.

  • @RamboRamz72 Here's the thing friend, the god in this bible doesn't even come close to the Holy God of the Scriptures. You know why me and others do such a thing like make a video on this book? Because this book goes against God's Word and false information doesn't bring people to God but brings them to ideas and teachings that go against God's Word.

Most people I have found who love this book don't take time to study God's Word. I say study God's Word and you will see why we do what we do.

  • Hey,...i dont believe that the other was trying to make God put to be a certain person race or gender...i felt he was in a way deterring readers from having God in a "box" or a uniform. Atleast thats how i looked at it...i just think all this is pointless really to go this length about a fiction christian book...honestly it tasteless. I am a christian and love God...we should never argue over meaningless things. People arent going to because of this book and getting something out of it...

  • @RamboRamz72 You say you love God but yet you stand up for a book that totally goes against what God has said about Himself, about salvation, two of the very important things a Christian needs to know about the God they say they love.

Please take time to study God's Word, not just scam through it but study it and then maybe you will see the blasphemous errors the author has in this book. Those who love this book usually don't take time to study their bible and they don't know how to defend it

  • you can't read this book with a religious view. I'm sorry you feel this way towards it, but it wasn't written for religious purposes, but a spiritual one, for a relationship between the human race and God. Don't read the book if you don't like it, simply put.

  • @chinesefoodism One has read a book in order to know if they like it or not. Plus, to say we can't read this book with a religious view is nonsense. If anyone comes out and says this or that about God and it's false, then it is the duty of the Believer to show where that book went against God's Word.

    Oh so luke warm.

  • Actually I am amazed that people can be so ignorant of the Bible that they even give the shack a hearing.

Even if the author is trying to make a subtle point (and I doubt it) he should know that the average reader simply is not capable of taking subtle points - they will take it at face value even if the author did not intend it.

i would not waste my time or money on a slipshod structure of thought which the name shack implies.

I am not giving up the Spirit of Christ for this slop

  • Whoever created this video has obviously NEVER read the book. Yes the book does refer to God as an African American woman named Papa, but it gives a reason as to why. God is NOT human. God cannot be limited to our human characteristics, saying that God is entirely a male is also false. How can you prove that? Have you ever seen God? Yes it refers to God as He in the Scripture but it also refers to the entire human population as "man" does that mean we are all men?

  • @melissaxbeth17 I have read the book. You asked me to prove that God is entirely a male. Well, God always, and I mean always refers to Himself in the male gender. While God is not a man, He does refer to Himself in the male gender. Now, to say that the Holy Spirit is a female is unscriptural and I ask you to prove to me that it does.

There are 13 points in this book that goes against God's Word and it's apparent you either don't care or you don't know what God's Word says.

  • @melissaxbeth17 God is not a big Man in the sky, so he is not male in the crude sense of gender stereotype as we define it. BUT He has determined how we should address Him, and that is Lord God King of Kings and Father. MY view as to why is that goddess worship is always pagan and YHWH is NOT a goddess, so he commands we address Him this way, otherwise we see Him as a goddess.

Young defies scripture. The Lord, Judge, Holy and Terrible King of Kings will hold him accountable for this

  • The only word is God's word. Nothing can take that away. I cannot read any thing that may even give doubt to His word, because there is nothing to read that would. So why would anyone want to find something to give them doubt to our Father's word? This places you in the position of repentance for doubting the Holy word, doesn't it? Questions of the heart should be taken to our Lord. A true believing follower has no doubt. Only in themselves. The only way to know is threw Christ's way. Peace

  • @hogBike2002 Amen, couldn't agree more.

    God bless

  • This book, the shack is just as you said, and people need to wake up and stop eating cotten candy and watching Joel Osteen. This won't be the last book to hit shelves in Christian book stores which twist scripture. Many preachers touted this book as a good read...I'd find another church asap!

  • My question is this; what if the author was as inspired - if not moreso - by "GOD" than the people who wrote the Bible? so , just because this author came years later, he is automatically wrong cause he didnt make it into the book.

  • @BeauG92 Well here's the problem with what you say. First off God is not going to sayy and inspire men to write one thing and then turn around at a later date and say something different. The Bible is 66 different books with 40 different authors, with a span of 1500 years. There is consistency with all the writings in all the books. Then comes along an author who writes things that are totally againssst what God has said in the 66 books of the Bible.

  • @carpentersdaughter2 there isn't really consistency, and even if there was, most of the people who wrote the Bible had an agenda, a moral/hierachial agenda to follow and their own status to think of.

  • @BeauG92 Well you say there is no inconsistency, but that's no proof. And how do you prove that they had their own agenda?

You are full of meaningless words with nothing to back them up.

  • I agree books are No replacement for the Bible, but come on have u never heard of metaphors?

Jesus himself says there is different ways of talking to ppl about his word ...exa: parables

  • @rubi411 Yes, there are different ways but God would not lie about Himself, and since this book is so full of lies about God and salvation, this goes against the very nature of God. Jesus never lied in His parables, so your reasoning doesn't work here.

  • Christians seem to want their ears tickled; my Brother innocently gave me the book; I read it--trashed it... but just like everything else in life= people have to make their own choices.

  • @grannygrunt1000 That's true, each of us do need to make choices, but when people stay away from God's Truth then it's nobodys fault but their own when they get deceived. I had joined the Mormon Church because I did not know God's Word. Now I know otherwise, and each of us has a responsibility to dig into God's Word and know the truth. Ignorance doesn't play well at the Great White Throne Judgement.

  • I think there's alot of controversy over NOTHING here! I read this book from cover to cover and the point I took out of it is that God can show up and work in any form or way that HE sees fit! This book has helped me get through alot of hurt in my life and made me to realize that God truly does love me! Blessings!

  • @palobryan God can not lie and will not lie to bring someone to His Truth. This is where so many as yourself go wrong. Can God create a rock so big He can't lift it? No, God would not even do such a thing and to say that God can do anything is wrong. He can not lie, nor would he to try and get a point across. He would use truth, not lies.

Study God's Word and get the real truth.

  • I think you may be taking this a bit too literal. This is not modelism, If it were wouldn't only one be present at a time? This is closer to the Nicene creed.

This is also meant to be a parable. Jesus used parables all the time, people didn't accuse Him of blaspheming God? ok..well maybe they did

This book has been interpreted by you to be promoting universalism. I don't agree, Papa wanted to redeem them, but they had a choice. If they chose not to be redeemed then that is not universalism.

  • @titansfan122 Mr; Young has admitted in an interview that he beleive every human being will be saved. This is universalism, and when someone says in a book that Jesus is the best way, that leaves open that there are other ways to God. Now, I have found that those who love this book don't know their Bible well enough to defend it.

So just because it's fiction lies can be said??? Jesus said He is the ONLY way, not the best way, and there are many other lies in this book.

  • @carpentersdaughter2

I am not talking about Youngs beliefs, I am talking about how the book can be interpreted. I am not a universalist, as it is obvious that you are not either. However, I feel that one can read the book and interpret it differently. If it is fiction then yes lies can be told. fiction means not real or false. While I do not agree with ALL of youngs theology, He does a good job getting people to think about Jesus and if they are interested it may lead them to read their Bible.

  • @titansfan122 What good does lying about God do? There are 13 points of bad theology, and saying things about God that are not true, is blasphemy and not a minor thing.

Your attitude towards this is typical of the apostasy that is rampid in the church today.Ears are being tickled just as God's Word said it would be.

Very sad to see that you think lies about God are okay. typical apostate.

  • @carpentersdaughter2 From what I can see, you are guilty of the very thing Mack was guilty of. You have placed yourself in the judgment seat by calling me an apostate(you dont know me)

You speak as though you arrogantly believe you have all the answers. Only God has them. To clarify: I never said it is ok to lie about God. I simply stated that in fictitious works, you do not look to find truth.

Also, you misunderstand theology. Modelism is nowhere to be found in this book. He is Trinitarian!

  • @titansfan122 Sir, I can only go by the words you make on this page. According to your own words, you said it is okay to lie in fiction..So, how else am I to take that?

The Bible is so easy to understand and it's nothing but myth of Satan that it can't be understand. When Jesus said He is the ONLY way, He meant it. He even called people theives who try to get into heaven without Him....Young made the big mistake of saying Jesus is the best way which leaves that open for universalism.

    cont

  • -2-

I am not misunderstanding theology. The bible is very clear that Jesus is God, that He is the only way to salvation, and and no one gets there except through Him..now what's so hard to understand about that????

I read the book, and found it to be blasphemous, and I am not the only one who believes that. There are thousands upon thousands who have come across with the same thoughts on Young's book.

You defend this book over the Word of God...what does that say about you?

  • @carpentersdaughter2 I understand that you can only go the the words on the page. However you do not know the hearts or the mind of man therefore you cannot righteously judge what you do not know. I am thankful that God will judge me and not you.

I never said it is right to lie in fiction, I said that “lies can be told in fiction” the three little pigs never happened, but it is ok because it is fiction. I do not think it is ok to lie about God, but the author is creating a parable to help- con

  • @titansfan122 You're right I can not judge what I don't know but if you can't express in words what's in your heart, then you better not comment ever again.

I judge your words according to God's Word. Paul says we are to expose false prophets and teachers.

You compare God's Word to three little pigs? You contridict yourself. You say it's not okay to lie about God, BUT the author is creating a parable to help..well, again, when do lies help anyone?

    continued

  • -2-

God's Word says that His word will not return void. His word is truth for us, so why is it okay for a mere sinful man to twist God's Word in his book, to try and get people to understand??

Like I said, there are 13 points that go against God's Word, and yet you defend this book as okay..

Your words say apostate, and your words say you just don't know God's Word enough to know what is truth and what is error. Otherwise you would stand up for God's Truth, not sinful mens idea of God.

  • others better understand God.

The book is a work of man there will be errors. I am not defending that, but I am saying that the author does not even claim this is real so we should read the book with a grain of salt.

Unfortunately you do misunderstand theology. If you cannot properly identify theological terms you will appear not credible. You said Young’s book portrayed Modelism. It does not, Young’s formulation is a classic statement of Trinitarianism: one God in three persons. See pg 101

  • @titansfan122 Young stated in his book that the Father will die, Modelsim teaches that in the Old Testament it was the Father that Moses dealth with, then he took off his fathers cloths and put on Jesus clothes, then when he assended back into heaven, he took off his Jesus clothes and put on the Holy Spirit's clothes.

Now, where in the Bible does it say that the Father dies?

Why do lies have to be acceptable when it comes to a book about God??

  • Lastly I will have to say that you not only misrepresent the theology in this book (which I do not agree with all the theology in this book!) you also have lied against me saying that I defend this book over the Bible. That is entirely false and I hope you are not judged the way you judge other people. Typical hatred among some arrogant theologians.

  • @titansfan122 LOLOL.....you ARE defending this book over the Bible, your words are very clear on that.....

Do you even know what a lie is??? It is when someone knows the truth and says something different. I have not lied when it comes to what your comments have shown. Words are all we have and if you can't express them good enough, then I suggest you stop commenting.

You've made it real clear who you are standing up for and sure isn't Jesus and His Truth.

  • @carpentersdaughter2 Tell me where I said I am standing up for this book over the Bible? I said I do not agree with all of the theology of the book! Also, the book never said the Father dies. The book said The Father was with Jesus on the cross, but it never said he died... Plus your little 13 points you came up with all by yourself, the only one I said was invalid was your ignorance of young's trinitarian beliefs.

  • @titansfan122 I heard Young Himself say in an interview that all men will be saved. Now if that isn't Universalism, then I guess I just don't know what it is.

the 13 points is not just my little ole opinion that I came up with by myself.

  • It is amazing to me that you still feel righetous enough to take God's judgment seat and judge me. If you would read what I am saying we agree on the same principles. You want to hear me saying something I am not so you can use words like apostate because it makes you feel good about yourself. I will spell it out for your: I do not believe this book is truth or ever happened, it is a fictitious story that you have blown way out of proportion. I read it and so did you... you are just as guilty.

  • @titansfan122 you confuse self rightousness with standing up for God's Word. I suppose Paul was self righteous too because he wrote to the churches and told them not only to kick out the heretics, but expose them.

Again, you confuse self righteousness with standing up for God's Word. What is an apostate? One who has moved away from truth. As long as you defend this book, you are moving away from truth.

You want to say I have blown this book out of proportion so you can feel good..

    cont

  • -2-

about defending it. It is a book full of heresy, which is lies, and it's sad to see someone who calls themselves a christian to stand up for it.

Rather then call it self righteous, call it frustration with those who have fallen for the lies of this book, and then stand up for it.

You are the one who spoke out for this book, not me, and it's very sad to see. Paul said that many would go after teachers to tickle their ears..well, this seems to be true with you.

  • I would also caution you to stop worshiping scriptures and worship the Father Son and Spirit.

John 5:39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

  • @titansfan122 Now look who is taking scripture out of context. Like I said those who stand up for this book usually don't know God's Word very well. This just proves my point with you.

I suppose when Jesus kissed the Torah that he was worshipping the words too?

I value God's Word above Young's words and you don't like it...well, I've had enough of this nonsense.

  • It's just a novel?....

  • @alexa00911 So it's okay to lie about who God is?

  • Well I think the book is wonderful, and opened up my heart.Remember it's a novel....

  • @alexa00911 What if I wrote a book about you and said all sorts of lies just because it is a novel?

  • To the author of this video:

May I make a few suggestions?

I appreciate your enthusiam for your beliefs, but I would like to suggest that you can attract more flies with honey than you can with vinegar. I probably would have been willing to listen to you, but as I read some of the comments and saw how unclassy and rude you were, you completely lost credibility with me. To be honest, after seeing your attitude, I would be ashamed to be associated with you as a believer ( I assume you are).

  • @crazyfordaisies123 I understand your reply and don't blame you. When I started doing videos I expected to have atheists and unbelievers, witches come down hard on me, and so it has been, but what I never ever expected what to see such apostasy. Those who are so willing to through out God's truth for such horrible lies.

While there is no excuse for my bad behavior, I will say that the apostasy among those who call themselves believers is beyond comprehension and extremely sad.

  • Poorly made. Weak points. Overused scriptures.

  • @KingThaddeusIII Yada, yada, your points are the same ole nonsense that other apostates have used, so your point is what?

  • Lady you have problems,

  • @TrENDKiLLR784 Yeah, it's called apostasy, which you so well endowelled with. looks like from your comment that you're one of the apostastes who have eaten the candy of satan, and curse others who stand up for God's Word.

  • this is true that god is a spirit and neither male nor female, but when the bible calls god "him" its not saying god is a male, its just using "him" because a male is a naturally easier way to view god for most people. I loved the shack and Im a strong but shaky catholic, im not worshipping this book by any means, only looking at it in the sense of any person can be touched by god, regardless of their religion. i believe that this book is mostly true in the events that happened.

  • @mescudimetal22 God is a spirit,, but since He is the one who used men to write down the words, then we must respect what God has said. You may have like this book, many obviously have, but the big problem with this book is that is has out right lies about God, Important things, not just minor things. This book says God the Father was on the cross with Jesus, The Bible says different. The book says Jesus is the best way, while God in His Word has said Jesus is the only way...you see the lies?

  • @carpentersdaughter2 the point of the "derailment" is simply because we should never think that women somehow bear less of God's image than males do - that God identifies "Himself" only on masculine terms and not feminine. This would be a perversion, and I just want to make that clear lest we become sexist in our theology.

  • @ThusFar777 Jesus first appeared to a Woman, which at that time in society wasn't appreciated. I know what God thinks of Woman and it's pretty high up...now as far as sexist, it's you who seems to be going there. If God wants to show Himself in the male Gender to us, then I think we better respect that and do as He has shown us. To cry Abba Father, is not femine, but totally male in gender.

This is how God wants it, don't be one of these Emergents and try to change what God has said.

  • I am not going to try and make a judgement on the book, namely because I have not read it, but I think you should know that in each of the references "he" in John 3:16 and 4:24, it is actually the Greek 'autos,' which is the reflexive pronoun 'self,' used of the third person. There is no definite indication of it being a masculine pronoun.

  • @ThusFar777 'Aión, (the living God) immortal and divine" Don't know where you learned Greek but your interperation of the word and the mispelling of the word isn't found. It isn't "Autos" but' Aión. One must look to see the contest of 'HE" and in the context of John, he is refering to the immortal, divine, living God.

  • @carpentersdaughter2 I am not sure what you are talking about, to be honest. I am looking at Thayers Greek definitions: For God (G2316) so loved the world, that he gave his(G848) only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him(G846) should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

  • @ThusFar777 I am just showing you that the word "He" isn't what you said it was. The Greek word for "He" is 'Aión, (the living God) immortal and divine"

Now I believe that what anyone should do who takes scriptures as God's Word to respect how HE qualifies Himself in Scripture.

This sure is a derailment from topic of the video.

  • Cont.

    G2316 -θεός - Theos

G848 - αὑτοῦ - hautou: contraction for 'heautou,' which can mean (his) or (her) own.

G846 - αὐτός - autos: "himself, herself, itself, he, she, it, etc.

I realize that it is referring to God, but there is no definite masculine pronoun in reference to the immortal, divine, living God in either John 3:16 or John 4:24.

  • @ThusFar777

I don't understand how you can't see how God isn't in the masculine, especially since the words, Himself, He. We are to cry Abba Father, as a child calls for her daddy...we Bellievers are to seek God in the male gender, as in our DADDY....I see male everywhere in these scriptures.

'Aión, and according to Strong's G846. meaans this:1) himself, herself, themselves, itself

    2) he, she, it

    3) the same

  • @carpentersdaughter2 God also uses feminine metaphors to describe "Himself" in the Bible. You are right in what you saying here about G846: it is an indefinite pronoun, which means it could be referring to "she" as well as "he."

There are no words to communicate a Person that is genderless, and "he" is simply the closest word we have to being neutral; for instance, "mankind" refers to both male and female, as well as "man."

  • @ThusFar777 But in the Greek it doesn't say she, only He, Himself...why is it that so many are going against God's Word today? You have fallen for a lie and it's sad to see this. The Greek was translated correctly into English, but this is just another one of Satans lies to try and get people away from the truth, and he's succeeded with you and many others.

  • Most ALL of you are captured by Idolatry. You Idolize and worship your concepts of God, your interpretations of the Bible, your intellectual approach to scripture, making 'matter of fact' judgements based upon verses glanced over and deemed credible to the position of your argument. IDOLATRY!

Consuming your mind with thought of your 'Rights' and their 'Wrongs' and heart with the desire for superior religion, and all of it arrogance.

GODS PEACE PASSETH ALL UNDERSTANDING, EXPERIENCE IT U FOOL!

  • @Brahmanfire How sad it is to read something like this. God's Word is something that we are to study to show thyelf approved, and just because I have done that, you call me all kinds of names.

Am I suppose to learn God's Love through you??? Ha, what a hypocrite you are..you condem me because I stand on God;s Word, and not some heretical book, and yet, look at your own venom that comes from your heart....

  • @carpentersdaughter2 My post was not directed at you specifically. In fact I did not even watch your video until just now. Rather I was reading through the comments and found the same tired judgments posted as are on several other video's which speak against this book. I have not read it, and I may or may not. I've read completely the Bible and it's religious counterparts however. They are road maps, tools, useful directions, sign posts... but mistaken for being the Goal, the Truth, the End

  • @Brahmanfire The Bible is more then a road may. Jesus made it real clear that He is God, He made it real clear that no one gets to the Father, who is in Heaven except by Him...Jesus speaks about those who try and get into heaven without Him and He calls them theives and robbers.

If God's Word can't be trusted, then it's foolish to even read it, let alone trust in what it says about Jesus. there is no gray area when it comes to His Word. You either Believe it or don't. no middle ground here.

  • @carpentersdaughter2 And this fundamental mistake has been made by most believers of most religions for thousands of years. The Goal or Truth is simple in that without the requisite EXPERIENCE of the Divine Presence in your life Now, these scripture are but words on paper subject to misinterpretation evidence of which countless wars and arguments and further separation from one another as human beings. God's Word is Alive and vibrant and speaking All ways to open Hearts and Minds.

  • @Brahmanfire Jesus said He didn't come to bring unity but to divide..You know why He said such a thing? Because His Word were going to cause division among those who would beleive in His Words and those who would expouse God's divine presense with other nonsenational crap.

remember and open mind can be so open that one's brains fall to the ground and crash.

You have expoused nothing but the new Paganism/New Age thinking for today.

  • Hurray for the truth being told! Acts 19 that blasphemous junk. It breaks my heart to see lukewarm Christians(?) without deep roots get more interested in reading entertaining lies about God rather than His awesome truth. The more of the world they put into their heads, the more vulnerable they are to temptation and to the devil, who goes about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.

  • @ApocalypseWatcher I'm with you, it breaks my heart to see lukewarm Christians, Plus those who are tares that have been set up by Satan. They look so good and yet produce nothing good, only evil.

We were definately warned about the days we are living in.

    God bless,

    Linda

  • @carpenterdaughter2 Great video! I'm currently studying it, cautiously, to write up my own analysis of why this book is flat out wrong. I have friends that are huge fans of the book and it's changed their beliefs, and it infuriates me! Thank you for being one of the few that believes in God's Word alone.

  • @davisia81791 You have no idea how much you have blessed me. When I saw that there was a comment on this video, my heart sank and said, oh, another one who is going to stand up for the book and disregard all that God has said about Himself, salvation and His Holiness.

Please know that I am not against Christian fiction. I'm a writer myself, but I do believe we must stay within the bounds of God's Word. God doesn't need lies or any kind of help from man to get His Words across.

    God bless you.

  • @carpentersdaughter2 I agree 100% with you. The Bible is The Truth, and the only truth. Therefore, anything and everything we hear, see, learn, etc. should be filtered through the Bible, using that to throw out the bad and keep the good. And it saddens and angers me when I see so many skewed beliefs that claim to be Christian, then it gets worse by reaching friends and family that I love.

  • @davisia81791 As Paul taught, in the days before Jesus return, apostasy would get worse and worse. Way back in the seventies, I thought of apostasy as True Believers denying Christ when it came to their lives. After looking into the Greek word on Apostasy (Apostacia), it means that many will move away from the truth. This is so true because I've seen in the last forty years this happening, but ever since 911, apostasy has leaped forward in every area of Christianity.

    God bless you soooo much.

  • @carpentersdaughter2 it's so true. God bless you!

  • You religious zealots are all the same - my way or the highway...just remember, the bible was just a bunch of guys writing a book (over time) to scare the crap out of people... and the bible is filled with more contradictions than any other book ever written.. THE SHACK IS JUST A NOVEL - and a well written one at that.

  • @heroeslifeboats Blah, blah, blah...can't you guys come up with something original? You come out of the same old mold.

  • Hello! It's a novel, not a text book or a new religion. And being offended by Jesus being portrayed as a Middle Eastern man, hello! Jesus was not an anglo from North America. I found this novel to be something that opened my heart even more to God.

  • @Alfieuncle Pay close attention here because it applies to you..

    2 Timothy 4:3

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

Get to know what God's Word says, and if you still feel the same way, then you're worse off then I think you are.

  • I love the book! I think it was simply WONDERFUL! God bless the author of the book :D

  • @PaolaK I say this over and over but it sure is true. Those who love the book don't know God's Word very well. Those who love God and His Truth will hate the book because it has 13 major errors on the kind of doctrine that keeps someone from gaining salvation.

Love God's Word more then mens false teachings. Don't get caught up into the emotional feelings of it cause that can take you down the wrong road.

  • Excellent video carpentersdaugther2. . (Where is the background music from?) This book understandably affects people emotionally. Many defend it as making God more approachable for those who struggle relating to the way He is presented in the Bible. The problem is that this new re-representation of God is false. It contains theology contrary to scripture, eg. universalism, as well as re-imagining the trinity in ways that make people more comfortable with pagan/ goddess notions of the divine.

  • @wernerempire The problem today is so many rely on emotion for truth, rather then get in and study God's Word to know the truth. I use to be a Mormon and emotionalism is the key factor in knowing what is truth. They Believe that the Holy Spirit sends them this burning feeling that what they read and hear is truth, so they have an emotional experience. They say God will not send deception when one is looking for truth. that is true, but when the truth is presented and rejected...

    continued

  • -2-

then God allows them to believe what ever their ears want to hear.

It's really good to read your comment because so many have come against me on this. I will stand firm and continue to say that the book is a deception and leads people away from God's Truth, no matter how much mocking and critizising I get.

    God bless you much,

    Linda

  • In the book the author portrays God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit as 3 separate people, An African American Woman, a Middle Eastern Man & an Asian Girl. He is trying 2 get people 2 see that we as Christians & as human beings put God in this box & can only visualize Him as an old White Male. I read this book & enjoyed it very much. You may feel it implies something that the author never stated. Maybe you should have a personal conversation with the author before judging his work.

  • @ladybuglove61201 I've listened to Young on many interviews. His views are opposite of God's Word. He has 13 doctrinal points that totally go against God's Word.

May I suggest you get to know God;s Word before defending a book that blasphemes God!!

  • @ladybuglove61201 agreed. the author said in an interview he wrote this book during a very rough period in his life.

  • @dutchmcgee101 Oh I see, then because someone is going through a rough patch in their life, it is okay to lie about God and about salvation and who He is.

  • And those who are deluded He will give over to further delusion.

  • @TR5T In the majority of cases yes. There will be some whom God will be able to reach and they will see what this book is truly about.

  • @carpentersdaughter2 Yes many who think they are saved now may with seeking Him alone, be converted.

  • I love this book and I am a Christian. He didn't say all roads lead to heaven, but he will travel all roads.

  • @Msbuster I don't say this to be rude but I find that those who take time to write what you did, I find that don't know God's Word very well. All I can say is if you took time to study the important things of God in His Word, then you would know without a doubt why this book is so wrong. 13 heretical points, and yes, the book does imply that all roads lead to God..Jesus said He is the Only Way, and the book says that Jesus is the best way, leaving it wipe open for Universalism.

  • The book dooesn't teach modelism, doesn't talk about universal salvation: in this point it only remarks that god has his followers among everywhere, nad, the figures of Yahvé, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are completly aleatory, in fact, almost all the people know about the noses of the jewish people, nad I don't Think is a racist thing to say.

  • @CharlesPatinho Did you even read the book. The book is full of Universal Salvation...example Page 182; Jesus mentions that all are excepted, which means universalism...all roads lead to God..

Anyone who believe all roads lead to God is not a Christian because Jesus said that He is the ONLY WAY. No one else gets there without him. Muslims, buddhist, and so on will not be there because they have not put their faith in Jesus.

to be a Christian means to believe the words of Jesus.

  • This book, renewed my vision of the relationship with God, he is personal. This book doesn't introduce Modelism, actualy it talks a lot about how in the whole biblical text the holy trinity coexists, God is not male nor female, as some Shepard told me: The only definition, that we can use for god is: God, an, as its explained on the book: He only takes the shape of an african american women to play with the faith of this man, to play with the squared vision of god that we all have (...)

  • @CharlesPatinho Are you a Christian? If so, then you need to be angry at this book, not endorse it. If you are not a Christian, then I can understand why you would stand up for it, but any christian who loves God and His Truth should be angered what this book spews out. It goes so against what the bible teaches us, and fiction is no liscense to go so strongly against what God has already told us in His Book, The Bible.

In the Book, God does not punish Sin..

    continued

  • -2-

The book is full of God saying sin is it;s own punishment and that sin doesn't need to be punished. What does the bible say on this? The bible is calling me to repent and believe in Jesus, because He paid the price for our sins.

Without repentence, one doesn't go be with God, but in the Shack, everyone is saved, regardless if they want it or not.

If you are a Christian, then you really need to study God's Word, so you can speak out against this trype.

  • I won't answer the door for a Jehovah's Witness yet I will never forget the words of an old man outside the hospital several years ago. He began talking to me. At first I only half-listened then after a while I actually LISTENED. When I turned to walk away he shook my hand and thanked me. "WHY?" I asked. He told me, "You just gave me 10 minutes of your life. What a gift that is!" If you don't like the book, just don't open the door. Just don't shut out the ppl who may see the man.

  • @Iampernicious1 What if that man was a convicted rapist?

  • You have a right to your opinion and to express it as such, as I have. We will never agree on this issue, so I bid you a fond life, M'dear. I will not argue the matter any further.

  • @Iampernicious1 I just hope that you can see that God;s Word is so much more important then what man says, especially Young. He make a book that totally goes against what God's Word has said, and all anyone has to do is study God's Word and they will see that. I have found through all this that those who stand up for this book haven't taken much time to get to know God's Word, the Bible, so they defend something they know nothing about. I hope you will see some day that this book is full of lies

  • @Iampernicious1 I think you when you teach FEAR you are doing a huge dis-service to yourself, God and all those who you could otherwise be bringing TO the Lord. I really feel sorry for you.

  • @Iampernicious1 I guess if Paul the Apostle was here, you would be telling him to stop telling the churches to expose the heretics, and tell him shame on him for having them kick the heretics out too? Would you tell Peter the same thing?

Exposing false teachers is something that Paul the Apostle told the churches to do, and I can guarantee you that if Paul was alive today, his hands would be full with all the false teachers. Young would be right up there on his list.

  • You really don't GET it, do you? Honey, come back in 10 years and if you still feel this way, I'll sit down and have an intelligent conversation with you.

  • @Iampernicious1 Oh, I I'll still feel this way. I will always stand up for God's Word and His trust and against anyone who makes up lies about who God is and how salvation is gained. Not this universal crap that this man spews out of his mouth.

An Intelligent conversation??? That depends on if I want to debate someone who a fleshy mind, no thanks, you seem to far lost in this man's ideals.

  • @UBERxL33T That helps me to understand your response. Thank you

  • @UBERxL33T As In??? Have you put your faith in Jesus Christ as your savior? Do you beleve He died for you to take away your sins?

With that question it makes me think you are not a Born Again Believer in Jesus Christ.

  • @UBERxL33T Yes, I've read the book. Are you a Believer in Jesus Christ?

  • Instead of picking on a book that helps to promote God and perhaps to bring people to him that were lost and needed them in their lives, I would be looking at those that are trying to erase him from this world and our lives. Choose your battles wisely and truly hear the message of God not with your ears but with your Mind, Body and Spirit

  • @ilovemyanimals74 I will check my battles by the Word of God. Had Paul the apostle taken your advice, there would be even more heresy running in the churches today. Paul was the one who said to expose the false teachers and then kick them out of the churches. Doesn't sound too political correct to me.

So what you are saying to me and others who read your messages is that God's Word means nothing as long as a good ole book full of lies about God brings them to god.....

    continued

  • con't. 2

...God doesn't need men to make up fiction stories that LIE about Him and about Salvation, the two very things that determine whether or not a person goes to heaven or not.

Fictional stories are great as long as they stay in line with what God has already said. God just doesn't need this kind of help because this is no help. This kind of lies actually hinder some from coming to God..why? Because the authorbelieves all men are saved....this is a lie from satan.

  • I understand the shack deliver the message of love that mankind was hoping for. A picture of God's love for his children that we human can understand and an example for us to follow.....Mankind with his wisdom and knoledge is very quick in refuting or JUDGING a person or a book.....Well,,,all i can say is who am i to Judge? One thing i can say is that The Shack make me feel good ......i have renew my understanding of life ....I want to love like children love....No hypocrisy, but honestly.....

  • @johnybgood913 Jesus said judge not, but do you know what we are not to Judge? Another persons sins. Jesus spoke extremely to the Pharisees, and Paul the Apostle told the church that if anyone comes in with bad doctrines, that they were to expose them then kick them out..Sure doesn't sound very loving from Jesus or Paul to me.

Get to know the Bible before saying these things. We are NOT to rely on our feelings because they will always lead us astray. Take example the Mormons....'

    continued

  • continued 2

they totally rely on their feeling to know that their church is true. I know I use to be a Mormon. This is why we don't rely on our feelings because they will always lead us astray. If you study God's Word you will see how Holy He is, and that bringing Him down in human form, plus a female form is blasphemy, but of course, one needs to study God's Word to know this.

If people can't get God's love through Jesus Christ, then they are in pretty bad shape. God doesn't need lies.

  • The claims in this video are intellectually petty and dishonest. Kudos for wanting to uphold the foundational truths of the gospel, but this argument is highly inarticulate, poorly researched and full of gross generalisations. That is all.

  • @EilertL I guess in your mind it's okay to say anything about God as long as it makes people feel good.

your statement bodes well for a laodecian member.

  • I have studied the scriptures! I am always cautious of false doctrines. However, a "fictional" book, created for entertainment like "The Shack" needs to be judged as an authors work of fiction and not doctrine fit to teach. Anything man writes is going to be fallible, as man is not perfect. The author who wrote this had full intention of bringing the Christian God, and salvation to people. His work may not be perfect, but remember Christ said: "whoever is not against us is for us." Calm down!

  • @wpiri086 So it's okay to state falsehoods about God in fictional work? As long as it's fiction anything goes? This is your belief then?

So if someone wrote a book about you and misaligned your character and said things that weren't true, it would be okay because it's fiction?

When it comes to God and Salvation I will not calm down. The author is a Universalist, he has said in his very own words on an interview that all men will be saved. this is false, but it's okay he's just an author.

  • The Shack is wrong. Read the Bible

  • @rickgigliotti Amen!!

  • Churches have stopped teaching BIBLE long ago, nor do they inspire peole to have personal bible studies - in this case things wud have been clear and there wud have been no 1000 oppinions on the matter and no numerous religions.

  • @olesyakosharka The church today was prophecied two thousand years ago. this is the age in which truth means nothing. all roads lead to God as they say, and so it doesn't matter how you believe because all are saved anyway. The author of this book is a Universalist, meaning everyone from the time of Adam to the last person living will be saved, whether they want it or not. Too many people don't want to believe that God is a just God and that sin has to be punished.

    God bless

  • Just saw your site...love Dr. Walter Martin.....Kingdom of the Cults helped me gain a lot of understanding as a young believer....I'll check out your videos....I do agree that it is important to guard and proclaim the truth..I'm at a place right now where I'd rather SEE the truth (and love) of God than debate it. I've seen so many lives transformed by the overwhelming love of Christ and not so many by discussing doctrine. THOUGH I say in love we should be willing and able to defend what is true!

  • @chancellormaxwell2 My husband and I did research for Walter Martin back in the seventies. We lived in Salt Lake and he needed someone to be able to go into the LDS archives to get information for him. It was an honor and a blessing. This man was truly called of God to defend God's Word. I am almost certain that if he were alive today, he would be speaking out against the shack.

    God bless

  • Good, that clears things up. Grace and peace to you in the name of the Lord Jesus.

  • @chancellormaxwell2 LOL...the same to you...:)

  • Are we talking about The Shack? ...a book a guy wrote for his kids...a novel...sure it's about "spiritual things"...the author himself has made it clear he wasn't writing a book on theology. All together now, take a breath. The truth of God will prevail.

  • @chancellormaxwell2 No, it's some other book we are talking about.

  • aww! i liked the book! lol! but i have a brain. I know God is not a black lady who likes to cook ;) I learned from reading it. I enjoyed reading it. I took it for what it was. A fictional book.

  • Great video.

  • @Turn2See Thank you :)

    God bless,

    Linda

  • Great video. The picture of the Bible (2:40 - 2:57) is from a Danish Bible. Is that a coincidence or . . . ?

  • @Turn2See Saw that it was and wanted to add that one.

    Agape,

    Linda

  • Cont: I love God and the Bible, so what else matters? After all, The Shack is simply Wm. Paul Young's interpretation of Mack's experience with God (as told to him by Mack himself), not a substitute for the Bible.

  • @prematurepopstar900 There's several reasons why I speak out against the Shack. One is that there have been way too many folks who have said that now they know who God is, and that all will be saved. Now, love is not the issue here as most want to bring up. If one wants to find a God like the God of Mormonism, which is a false God all together and a false Jesus, one can find a very loving god in that cult.

Young has made up his own god and many are believing that this is how God is,

    cont

  • con't. 2

Many seem to think that it's okay to make up stories of God just because it's fiction. Youngs god in the shack doesn't even come close to the God of the Bible. Youngs God has everyone saved, not just those who put their faith in Jesus, but all. Young makes Jesus out to be just a good ole way for salvaiton, and not the only way. There are many points why this book is bad, but for the most part, people are beliving in the book, more then the bible and this is sad.

  • @prematurepopstar900 so are you saying its okay to make your own interpretation on the Bible?

  • I'm not looking for a fight as it seems that you three have already had a good go at each other about who is right, but why is it a bad thing if The Shack helps people understand God better? I read The Shack after a rough patch in my life and I can now honestly say that I understand God better and understand why some things happen. Why is it a bad thing that I gained this knowledge from The Shack, not the Bible? Cont .

  • there really is no getting through to you is there, I am not going to repeat myself, perhaps you cauld look through the past comments, without the blinkers on to see how wrong that your last comments have been, but you're not interested in anything that anyone else has to say so why should you bother. No matter my work here is done!

  • @mojosabien I know you're done because you already have revealed yourself on how you feel about God and His Word. No, I am NOT interested in moving to ideas such as yours for the simple reason that I love Jesus with all my heart, and I love God's Word, and I want God's Word to remain pure, and not added too in a fictional book. Fiction is not a good excuse to wash down the gospel.

You go right ahead and wollow in your lukewarmness and give every excuse you can for heretical books.

  • well there we dis-agree, the bible is man's best attempt at the word of God, it would only be the true word of God if God had written it himself and apart from the Torah (the bibles foundation) which was dictated to moses by God on mount Siani. In your own words, 95% of respondants are 'against you' on this one, that's 95% of the people with faith who commented, are against you, who else would bother to respond. Take the hint!

  • @mojosabien Ah ha, you have finally exposed yourself as to what you believe about God, and His Holy Words. You don't regard them as anything at all.

You have shown your true colors and it's no surprise why you stand up for a book that lies about God.

  • carpentersdaughter2 is merely stating what God says, so you are really disagreeing with God! The Loving God of Heaven sacrificed His only Begotten Son, to suffer and die in our place. He paid the price for our sin/rebellion so that we could be safe for all eternity IF we come to Him in the way He says. God tells us that there is only One Way, One Truth, is God wrong? If we don't get to know God through His Word we will make a God of our own making/imaginations!

  • I'm not saying there's a better way than jesus, I'm saying that your attitude alienates you from people who on so many points, would agree with you. Religion, on the whole is like standing outside Madison Square Garden, when there are thousends of angry, argumentative and abusive voices coming from within. All shouting and fighting over what are essentially, details. Would anyone in there right mind want to go in, would anyone in there right mind want to put themselves in the middle of that.

  • @mojosabien Oh I may be alienated from you but not everyone else. You have made it sound like I treat everyone this way. I only come down hard on heretics. As for those who are non-believers, I am much more patient and understand. You see they have an excuse as to why they don';t know God's Word. But people like yourself that stand up for a book that lies about God is something totally different. You come in God's name to stand up for something that is wrong. You just donf't see it.

    continued

  • con't.

You don't even come close to seeing how standing up for God should be done. you make excuses for the book by saying it can bring people to God..well, that's wrong. The Mormons and Jehovah[s Witnesses have a very loving god, but what does that do for salvation? NOTHING? So love is not the issue, the issue, is this book representing God in His True fashion and Form? Does this book line up with God's Word and not take away from it...Every question is answered with a NO. Love His Word too.

  • jesus never 'said I am the only way', he said that 'I am the way, none shall reach the father but through me' the difference is subtle. One is an absolute, the other is an invitation. I am standing up for God, why do you think I am still here talking to you? You are one of God's children and I respect that, all I am trying to tell you is that acceptance of other's opinions can be as important as acceptance of your own. Take time to pause and reflect and respond when you're not so frustrated.

  • @mojosabien Only the Holy Spirit can do any correcting in my life, not you. You can never do what the Holy Spirit can so, and if you were honest with yourself, you wouldn't be saying you are standing up against me because of God. It's your ego, just as I have one, and while I may be harder on you, your ego has gotten in the way too.

You want me to respond and reflect? LOL...so, I should give up on God's Word to go with what you say...no thanks because I will always stand for His Word.

  • I am a christian, so is W.M.Paul Young. If 'The Shack' brings any people back to the word of God , then I would call it a victory. Your acidic views of.... well anyone who dissagrees with you, by the look of it, are the log in your eye. They are your biggest weakness. I have tried and failed to show you a better way, by God's grace, you will find it on your own. Take care.

  • @mojosabien A better way? Is there any better way then Jesus Christ and His Word? Can you show me something better?

I will stand up always and speak out against those who don't value God's Word. My weakness as you call it is watching people who call themselves Christian and then go on to protect a book that has many errors in it.

Did you know that the Father NEVER died on the cross, only Jesus did that. Do you know that Jesus said that HE is the ONLY WAY and not the best as Young states.

  • p.s now who's getting touchy :-)

  • @mojosabienYeah, I am just frustrated that you won't stand up for God.. It only shows that people don't try to get to know God through the Bible, they are lazy and want some man to tell them about God. This is how cults get started, by people trusting in men to tell them what God has to say, when all they had to do is take time out to study.

You don't answer when I say Jesus is the only way..do you believe that? If so, why would you stand up for Young then?
