my dad had a beautiful 63 GP it was gold ( i think they called it Bronzini) he also owned a 71 the same color. we went for rides every weekend. remember when kids took rides with there parents. we would go to air station and watch the planes land and take off then go get a hamburger. I sure miss those days
And when I look at the chromed knobs hanging out of the dashboard, I just help but think of the people who needlessly lost eyeballs in car crashes to these things sticking out. It's big, it's shiny, it's built like garbage, it's unsafe, its inefficient, and it led to the downfall of America.
@videoguy604 Oversimplification: The GP was built when "car guys" designed GM cars. People wanted GM cars and paid premium prices for them; new or used. In fact, the four speed hydrmatic used in the Pontiac Bonnevilles and Star Chiefs was used under license by....Rolls-Royce! The senior GM cars (Buick, Olds, Pontiac, and especially Cadillac were good cars; a lot better built than Ford and Chrysler. Remember, when these cars were designed and built, we were not slaves to foreign oil!
Sure it's pretty, but it's also a symbol of how we squandered all of America's WW II advantages, made ourselves vulnerable to OPEC, and let Japan decimate us with actual quality. This cost us a lot and we're still paying.
When the '63 Grand Prix was new,Car & Driver said a GP can be parked next to any car in the world with no excuse. That's faint praise in my book anyday! Yours is GORGEOUS.The dark colors truly set off the sporty elegance of the nearly chrome-free body. The interiors are exquisite.Do I gush on?Ya' damn better believe it, I own a Nocturne Blue '64!! One lady owner, low mile w/ every option in the book, including rare power vents, cruise, tilt, power seat,AM/FM w/ reverb, auto dimmer,A/C,421 HO,& A/T.
So this is how my Grand Prix looked like when it was new...
Fantastic. A very beautiful car!
Is it black or is it the same dark "Nocturne Blue" as I had as the original paint on my car? It's kind of hard to see. I have the same interior color, though.

I love the 61,62 or 63 full sized Pontiacs...as long as they had the 8 lugs :)
