@Millard97 Ha Ha Well up there in Canada you guys are built to endure that sort of cold. 0 degrees Fahrenheit is about as cold as I'd willingly camp. Below that i feel like I'm starting to toy with unnecessary risks.

@MajesticChicken cell phone: one of the best survival tools out there.  Especially now that they all come with GPS recievers for 911. Also good for taunting friends who couldn't make the trip, ha ha!

@conleytgn I never took the GPS into consideration, I was just surprised you got signal, it seemed like you guys were a little ways in.

@MajesticChicken Naa we weren't that far in. Just a couple miles from the car. Wanted to make sure we could make a hasty escape if the cold started to win. Plus Verizon rocks, I am surprised how often it gets signal in the middle of wherever.

how come the hydration system won't freeze up?

[conleytgn]

The hose will freeze if you leave water in it about 10 minutes. The trick is to blow all the water out of the hose into the reservoir. In the Tepee was a different story though, it was warm enough in the structure that the water wouldn't freeze.
