I think dimwal says it all ... we know how good we are or arent and just enjoy winning when we do. This was a great time for us tho .. we beat Holland away 2 1 then Germany here then Italy in the WC not bad :-)

Yes, Holland needed to win to take 2nd spot...a draw was enough for us.

In the end Portugal only got 1st place ahead of us on goal difference.

I would have bee great to have held on when 2 - 0 up away to Holland instead of them clawing it back to 2- 2..but we still made it and that's all that matters.

ireland beat holland 1 - 0 in september 2001 that ended hollands chances of getting to the world cup. we aldo beat holland in a friendly a few years back robbie keane got a great solo goal. i love when we play the dutch because they are usually good games and the dutch supporters are great just like the irish

These are original world cup 1994 shows from RTE, this was from the night we beat Italy, I think i've got the goal where we beat Holland in Tilburg just before this game i'll find it and put it up for you. Thanks for the comment and subscription!!
