I've been to only 2 Japanese pop concerts here in Washington state but one thing I loved about the performance is the level of energy and amazing talent that the artists had. They sounded perfect live. I've also noticed this with Spanish pop as well.
It just seems like other countries have a higher level of professionalism in all aspects, as apposed to the US.
Tio Tsugin!!!!!
A festival, and a girl waiting for her boyfriend with her father. Additionally, there's a lot of mention of foods...no surprise there, as Sukiyaki is a Japanese dish.
A bit of a closer translation is a girl waiting at her house for her boyfriend to visit, and she and her mom and little sister are making Sukiyaki for dinner, a dish with sliced beef, vegetables, and dipped in raw egg ("Mago mago mago!")
Because you posted the definition with capitalized letters like I was stupid and I (admittedly, without actual reason) took offense & felt the need to prove myself...um...not-stupid.
I AM being stupid for prolonging this, though, because it's really trivial and pointless.
What? A variation of Piriri to Yukou? No it's not. It's just in a similar style & came out at a similar time, but it's not like they're the only H!P songs that sound like that. (Odoru 11, anyone?) Anyway, they're completely different, lyrics-wise. Piriri to Yukou is one of those weird songs about being a girl and doing stuff, in a similar vein as Ikimasshoi or Koi wa Hussou. Sukiyaki's about making sure that homemade dinner with your boyfriend is the best it can be.
Also there is a certain style of music that sounds like this. Genre similarities have nothing to do with one song being a variation on another. Just because they both include similar instrumentation and yelps doesn't make them the same song.
Oh God Japan is a Heaven on Earth!

Sorry, I didn't mean to start a war of words. Your description of "variation" is more accurate.

"Sukiyaki" is on the 6th Momusu album. It's a variation of the Berryz song "Piriri to Yukou".

Think variation in the classical music sense. Some similar musical themes, but not a direct copy.
juvea1969 4 years ago
Variation- a. the transformation of a melody or theme with CHANGES OR ELABORATIONS IN HARMONY, RHYTHM, AND MELODY.
b. a varied form of a melody or theme, esp. one of a series of such forms developing the capacities of the subject. Source: dictionary[dot]com

Yes, I know what a variation is. That doesn't change the fact that the two songs sound COMPLETELY different.

This is an actual Morning Musume song. It's on their 6th album, Ai no Dai 6 Kan.
