  • @Peter24397 I have had one for over 20 years. I have had no mechanical failures and it has almost 200k miles.

  • 4:52 Dual Moonroofs on a 1990's vehicle wow that's awesome

  • I've never driven a Previa, but I got to ride in one as passenger. I was in London, heading back to the USA, when a Toyota Previa pulled up and offered to take me, and my parents to the London airport. I found the Previa more comfortable than it looked, particularly considering that it was used in England, with its narrow streets.

  • I rather the old Toyota van. with a fridge up front, dual sun roofs and rear wheel drive, oh what a feeling.

  • That's Previa are grey imported?

  • the toyota previa is by far the best mini van ever created!!!!!

  • 4:10 seatbelt wasn't needed back then?

  • Hearing "Jessica" play makes me say "In the World" with a Clarkson like voice. :p

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • oh i love our previa. It has so many memorys. The car has 260,000 miles on it and its only broken down once. It certainly has been a great car.

  • The Renault was not the first people carrier of its kind...it was the dodge caravan.

  • and it's super charged!

  • I miss this era of Toyota, when the (now very conservative) company would produce a mid-engine jellybean-shaped minivan.

  • @jaceresa I agree. in 1990 they also had the MR2 sports car, the Celica coupe and the Supra, the big supercar, as well as the normal range of small cars and family cars.

    What do the have now?

No Previa replacement, no MR2 replacement, No Supra replacement and No Celica. Basically nothing even remotely interesting, just dishwater dull hatchbacks and a few picup trucks :-(

    What happened?

  • im actually thinkin of gettin a toyota previa for my first car. hopefully it will be fun

  • @Peter24397 It's a great vehicle. Take the seats out and you can carry full size, uncut sheets of plywood or sheetrock. You can take the roofrack off and get 25mpg on the freeway. It also makes a nice weekend camper. Not to mention if you take even mediocre care of it, you could easily get 300,000 miles.

Hands down, mine is the most useful vehicle I've ever had.

  • @kendigjl thanx, i actually bout one about a month ago, best car in my opinion, i have driven my mums mitsubishi lancer, and i think i would rather my tarago/previa, it is a very cheap car for parts and fuel, i would recommend to any other 1st car buyer :D

  • @Peter24397 me too! 4wd version with automatic transmission and in diesel!

  • I've always liked the Toyota Previa of this generation. Maybe it is old school in its layout, Mid Engine, Rear Wheel Drive, but that's how I like my cars. I also like its unconventional styling. I consider it a favourite over the VW Transporter.

  • I can fit a stack of uncut plywood/drywall in the back of my Previa (4 feet by 8 feet), hop on the freeway and get 24 mpg, then unload the building materials, put the seats back in and transport 8 people in air conditioned comfort.

The Previa is the most useful, pragmatic 4 cylinder vehicle ever built. Any small business would be wise to take a look at one for transport of materials and people.

  • the previa was better:what else can take 8 people AND luggage at the same time? Others had to have their seats taken out, this one has got it just right. The third row seats fold sideways to accommodate large objects and/or a large shop.

  • Such a shame the Previa had appalling crash-test ratings, because it looks very cool and the interior is amazingly well thought out.

  • previa looks so cool

  • MPV more like MFV multi failure vehicle

  • OMG PREVIA LIEK YAE :D

  • Keep up the awesome work of uploading old top gear videos!
