Yea im 18 years of age and swing it about 150mph its no biggy tho i mean im like 5 foot 7. My average drives are like 350 to 365 yards carry but i only get about 5 yards roll. i guarantee you all that if you think about where you want that golf ball to be after you've hit it and TRULY BELIEVE that it will be so, this will dramatically improve your game more so than any "mechanical change" in your swing.

As for Tiger's approximate handicap, yeah, some claim up to a +13 for Tiger. There's no way, of course; that would mean his average score on a normally set-up course would be somewhere around 56-59, dep. on rating. Don't think so. When he's playing well, if you figure he can shoot a smooth 66-67 most days on most normal setups, that's about a plus-6 or so. When he's really at the top of his game, he might be another couple strokes better than that, on average. Plus-10-12-13 is ridiculous.

His head only moves slightly down, it is a power move. Aside from Ernie Els, most golfers move their head equal to or more than that. The important thing is that he keeps his head back behind the ball.
It's more than most great players--but it used to be quite a bit worse than this, as much as 8-9 inches or so, sometimes. He's working on it. You'll notice on weeks when he's playing particularly well, it's not as noticeable--probably attributable to swinging something a tad less than full-out, which is also characteristic of his best shotmaking days.

Incidentally, for anybody who's interested in something other than dumbass flaming...I really do think Tiger's swing is pretty much unsurpassed these days--maybe not as "pretty" as Els's et al., but tops at moving the ball reliably. Every swing has flaws, but that down-move is just about his only one. And that has mitigated quite a bit in the past couple of years. Mostly his fundamental actions--steady center, big arc, squareness at the top, ground-up downswing--are as good as it gets.

Well that is what my swing speed was on the speed stick 1 week ago. I was swinging really hard then but on an average iron swing i was measured with this new mizuno iron technology and for my 6 iron it was 84. How tall are you?

MECHANICS SHMECANICS believing in yourself to GET THE JOB DONE is so much more important than trying to make sure that that your wrist to club angle is 62.78 degrees.
i guarantee you all that if you think about where you want that golf ball to be after you've hit it and TRULY BELIEVE that it will be so, this will dramatically improve your game more so than any "mechanical change" in your swing.

It is just the camera angle, otherwise it would be about in the middle of his stance. Depends on peoples swings, but his is regularly in the middle! So it's just the camera angle.

ball is back a little in his stance because it helps trap draw the ball...Tiger like's that draw. Although the camera angle does make it look farther back than it really is. That's actually why he had that little "flip" Less tension in grip to ensure the toe turn over the heel promoting that slinging draw

Here's an instructive exercise: Take a look at this and the other TW Swing Vision vids, and look at how his release comes from the rotation of the forearms, not a quit-and-flip, and not a block-and-hold. This is one of the primary things that separates a good pro from most amateurs.

For sure. Also because he takes the idea of making the swing a bit more compact (as Tiger certainly has done, particularly with the short irons) anad/or taking some of the flash handspeed out of the irons, and confuses it with "swinging softer." Not even close to the same thing.
Also because Tiger certainly _has_ worked on not shifting his level so much (downward in the downswing, as much as eight inches or so), and saying so doesn't mean I'm saying I have a better swing, or whatever.

OK, now that it's been brought up, we need to get a handle on this alleged +12 or 13 handicap for TW. It's absurd. Let's say you play on a decent public course with a par of 72 and a rating of about 71. He's going to average 59 on that course? Really? Put the money up anytime you want.

As for Tiger's approximate handicap, yeah, some claim up to a +13 for Tiger. There's no way, of course; that would mean his average score on a normally set-up course would be somewhere around 56-59, dep. on rating. Don't think so. When he's playing well, if you figure he can shoot a smooth 66-67 most days on most normal setups, that's about a plus-6 or so. When he's really at the top of his game, he might be another couple strokes better than that, on average. Plus-10-12-13 is ridiculous.

His head only moves slightly down, it is a power move. Aside from Ernie Els, most golfers move their head equal to or more than that. The important thing is that he keeps his head back behind the ball.

It's more than most great players--but it used to be quite a bit worse than this, as much as 8-9 inches or so, sometimes. He's working on it. You'll notice on weeks when he's playing particularly well, it's not as noticeable--probably attributable to swinging something a tad less than full-out, which is also characteristic of his best shotmaking days.

Incidentally, for anybody who's interested in something other than dumbass flaming...I really do think Tiger's swing is pretty much unsurpassed these days--maybe not as "pretty" as Els's et al., but tops at moving the ball reliably. Every swing has flaws, but that down-move is just about his only one. And that has mitigated quite a bit in the past couple of years. Mostly his fundamental actions--steady center, big arc, squareness at the top, ground-up downswing--are as good as it gets.
