Go with a 1200, and take it easy- just because a bike has the guts doesnt mean you need to show em off. I have a 122ci (~2000cc's) Patrick Racing Road Star with high comp. pistons, and every last performance part you can buy for the damn thing. I've been working on it for about 6 years now- its built for the quarter mile. Off the track I never take it past 3,000 RPM, and never go past 75 (I actually can't because it's geared so low, but that's not the point!) I'll get at least 250,000 out of it.
