the amaze sucks it lags a lot, the display's colors suck, the touch is not very responsive. SGS II and 4s are the best phones out right now.

I like how many people on Engadget called The Amaze "ugly". It's beautiful. I ordered the SG2 but swapped it for an Amaze. S-AMOLED + had  a weird blue tint and the phone itself felt awkward. I never thought I'd think a phone was too big, but it felt that way in your hands. I don't have small hands either. It's just a big square. I think the SG2 is one of the most overrated phones ever. Touchwiz is just a sad IOS ripoff and I was shocked at how the camera wasn't that great. Speaker also blew.

Try both out...make sure when you try the SG2 that you view a web page then tilt the phone at an angle. You'll notice suddenly you see the screen turn blue. I personally couldn't deal with the SG2 screen. It just looked over saturated and fuzzy to me. Check both out in person. Trust me.

I own a SG2 too and here's what I envy about the iPhone:

- No lag time in the OS, as opposed to the usual Android lag in the SG2

- Better screen: higher resolution and no blue tint that you get with the SAMOLED+

- Better app market

- Build quality. iPhone are like works of art, just beautiful and made to last

- Battery life 100x better than the SG2 or any other Android device

That's just a few. No one has met the iPhone in quality yet. It just hasn't happened..

About the screen, come on bro, that higher resolution is not visible to human eyes. App market doesn't have anything to do with the device itself and if you want build quality, then go get an HTC

There's a vid comparing the iphone4s browser to the sg2 & the guy tried pinching to zoom while the iphone was still loading the page & it froze but the sg2 didnt skip a beat. & the display on the sg2 makes the iphones colors look washed out especially blacks.

This guy's bias toward the iphone but everything popped up faster on the sgs2 & it didnt choke out like iphone4 did when scrolling while loading.

T mobile won't give you a discount unless you get the higher priced plans..I tried buying both of these with the family special they advertise on TV which is 2 lines unlimited everything $49.99 per line. You only get the discount if you get the CLASSIC UNLIMITED family plan for $139.99 for 2 lines, so I would be paying an additional $40 a month just for a $500 discount on both phones, $40 x 2yr contract = 960.00 so basically you wind up paying them back for the discount and some! @jabe55 you don't necessarily need to close apps. The OS does it when it needs to. I never really use the back button much, I just hit home or jump from app to app using swipepad. Battery life stays basically the same. With older phones like the Dream or Magic you might have needed a task killer but with the amount of RAM in phones today and the way Android 2.2+ works you definitely don't need a task killer.
