You will have no voting rights and no say in how this government will be run. This government will allow you to buy and sell if you swear your allegiance to it. Respond to this video... Principalities and nations participating are still permitted to pass their own laws in so far as they are reasonable. For example, a participating member nation will be permitted to tax it's population as it sees fit. You will have no voting rights and no say in how this government will be run. This government will allow you to buy and sell if you swear your allegiance to it. A practical global government would probably be a global alliance without a single figurehead.

A global alliance isn't impossible to achieve since all signs indicate the formation of larger and larger powerblocs as time goes on. Nato for instance, incorperates a good portion of the world and ensure peace between members.

Respond to this video... Principalities and nations participating are still permitted to pass their own laws in so far as they are reasonable. For example, a participating member nation will be permitted to tax it's population as it sees fit. But it will not be permitted to ohh say. pass a law that prevents women from entering the workforce. This one world government would in essense be a streamlined version of the existing UN.

But come unification, it became one of the most powerful empires in history. Same can be said for the unification of german, china, england and soforth. Great Britian was one of the most ruthless empires ever. They plundered and raped every nation they controlled. German unification is a very dangerous thing and would you wish to live under Chinese rule? These have controlled weaker nations and not for the benefit of those nations. One world order, not good.

@SuperMarvinjames The roman empire in it's early days actually offered many benefits to the it's conquered, The subordinates were actually given semi-autonomy over their territory and only answered to the romans as protectorates. But somewhere along the line, the roman ruling class got complacent and started demanding more than the protectorates could offer and that ruined the whole relationship. A global alliance would ideal learn from the mistakes of the past.

@AlternateArtisan Ideally yes, but history has shown that we do not learn from our past. Humans are what they are and will not change. As long as people are hungry for power and wealth there will always be those that will take advantage of others. Peace can not exist under those conditions.

@SuperMarvinjames keep in mind technological leaps forwards are generally for the better. When steam power was introduced, it brought the world into the industrial era, and the idea of kingdoms was replaced by nationhood. When radio and telecommunications was introduced it connected the world even better, allowing for bigger entites, like Nato and the EU to form. now compare the liberties of today to that of the past, which is better?

@AlternateArtisan Our freedom in the United States has eroded greatly in the past 75 years. At one time every capable person was expected to work and pull their own weight, that is not the case today and our economy shows that. As far as telecommunications they have brought a lot of good things to our lives but there is a downside also. If he were alive Lincoln could not get elected today because his face would be all over the television and he would be made fun of and treated like a buffoon.

You are correct that technology has made our lives easier but easier is not always the best thing for us. We have become a nation of individuals looking out for their own and disregarding others. @SuperMarvinjames maybe american culture has gone on a downward spiral as a result of it's own glutony ever since the end of the second world war, but that is not the case with the rest of the world as a whole. As far as reverting to monarchy, There will not be a supreme executive in charge of a global government since no one would be trusted enough to be elected, and even if so, he would likely just be a figurehead. Since one person simply doesn't have the capacity to oversee the entire world.

He will fool many people in order to come to power but once in power he will take complete control and will have many followers to do his dirty work. One system with everyone working towards the same goal sounds good but will not happen.

If I were you, I would vote for Ron Paul. Not just because I like him, but I think it would be the best thing for everybody. It'll get worse before it gets better, but if anybody is gonna do anything about it, it'll be Ron Paul. That's a big IF though. They probably won't let someone like him get voted in. It would probably be JFK all over again.

Solution: Stop falling for the cheap lies, broken promises, cliche slogans, dramatic advertisements, and fake teleprompter speeches. If you see a dramatic presidential ad on TV, your best bet would be to NOT VOTE for that person. People keep falling for the same shit over and over again.
