when we die now,we dont go directly to heaven cause if that is true then what purpose has Jesus for coming back and resurect dead and transform us the living? also many bible verses tell that we go into a sleep when we die and our conciousness stops until Jesus comes for the 2nd time to resurrect us and then establish his judgment.Then we live with God face to face.

Understand that there is no one righteous. Romans 3:10.
Understand that sin passed upon all men. Romans 5:12
Understand that from the heart you have to believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9-13.
AFTER PRAYER:
God's imputes the Righteousness to the believer. Romans 4.
Sealed unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 1:13.
Salvation WITHOUT Works. Eph. 2:8-9.
Salvation accomplished.

There is a requirement for obedience, to follow his laws, and to work at walking in all of them.
Agreed, no special prayer, repentance first, but prayer alone will not directly save you.
