I have smoked for 16 years. Some weeks i will smoke a the end of everyday. Some weeks I won't smoke at all. I suffer no withdraws, I have no issues with not smoking at all. It's not a big deal. The only possible addiction to marijuana is the fact that when you smoke it you don't worry or stress yourself out. I could see someone with a very stressful life being upset if they had none. No chemical addictions.

I just heard about this from the 20/20 episode. What stood out the most to me, is that first of all, Rachel had never been convicted of ANY crime. Yet, the police chief refers to her repeatedly as a "criminal". At the same time, every time he's asked why things weren't done to protect her, his response is dismissive. It's like he's saying, "We set her up and allowed her to get killed. But she was a criminal, so it's ok. Besides, she's dead, so who cares?" It's disgusting.

But the police department blackmailed her, crafted an incredibly faulty plan which has been mocked by an ex-FBI officer (as seen on 20/20 last night), and is now making her out to be some sort of drug czar. Personally, I consider that people who wish to destroy themselves, should do allowed to do so, even though it has been legally shown that smokers were all coerced (advertisements) to become smokers. Here, R. H. was caught selling drugs twice: you should never hurt others in any manner or form, but in this case it is even worse, since she had no financial reason to sell. We are not talking about an illiterate prostitute with 4 kids!

I'll translate that-They grabbed her, searched her, found the drugs. She never exercised any of her rights, she wasn't a fighter. I have smoked for 16 years. Some weeks i will smoke a the end of everyday. Some weeks I won't smoke at all. I suffer no withdraws, I have no issues with not smoking at all. It's not a big deal. The only possible addiction to marijuana is the fact that when you smoke it you don't worry or stress yourself out. I could see someone with a very stressful life being upset if they had none. No chemical addictions.
Why not take it upon yourself to go research the other side of the debate.

I just heard about this from the 20/20 episode. What stood out the most to me, is that first of all, Rachel had never been convicted of ANY crime. Yet, the police chief refers to her repeatedly as a "criminal". At the same time, every time he's asked why things weren't done to protect her, his response is dismissive. It's like he's saying, "We set her up and allowed her to get killed. But she was a criminal, so it's ok. Besides, she's dead, so who cares?" It's disgusting.

What I'm saying is, a black person pleads guilty to a crime, goes through "the process" and then is sent to jail...sometimes for long periods of time. A white person pleads guilty to the same crime, goes through "the process" and is given alternatives to stay OUT of jail or is given less time to serve. Smh. I'm done with this shit. You're right that the system has been and is biased against minorities. But it is also biased against poor whites. Increasingly it's damaging middle-class whites too. The system is set up to favor those with power and money. In the past ten years that has become increasingly obvious, as has the blatant cruelty and disregard of those with power for the rest of us. I knew Rachel Hoffman personally, and I am well aware of her addictions and her sales. But the police department blackmailed her, crafted an incredibly faulty plan which has been mocked by an ex-FBI officer (as seen on 20/20 last night), and is now making her out to be some sort of drug czar. She was never convicted, and caught with a small baggie of marijuana and a handful of pills. Is this a good thing? Of course not. Is it a reason to spit on her memory? It shouldn't be.

Stop going to Florida / Tampa for your vacation. When the people feel it in their pocket book, counsel will really care... and the police department will have to cut jobs.

The officers that represented themselves as the state attorney's office by saying they could dismiss charges if she performed this drug deal and coeresed her into a dangerous situation should be held accountable. If you have a badge, you have the right to do, say and conduct yourself as you please. No one will govern you.... it's the 'Good Ol' Boy' system and we all need to watch out. I have personally delt with TPD (detective liar Troop) and have been bullied into a situation where they intimidated me and made me feel trapped. Unfortunately, TPD will never be held liable for all the pain and suffering they have caused Rachel's family.
