  • Now compare the new CS500p with Shindaiwa design

  • Hát bizony a STIHL itt megint csúnyán alulmaradt...

  • Thanks to this video, i bought a 346xp and used it in northern MN today! Still(no pun intended) glad i went with Husqvarna, thanks again!

  • I would take stihl

  • stihl is way better

  • We have been using the Farm Boss here under heavy duty conditions in a long time. We dont treat it like a lady and it has to stand quite a lot of action and it still didnt give up after many years of permanent use in both heat and cold. I cannot compare these two machines but to us the Stihl always was a great helper in every possible situation.

  • i think you husky is alot faster than stihl but stihl is still great

  • I've been beating the hell of my 346 XP 10 hours a day and 140 days a year for 2 years now and it still hasn't lost a bit of compression and didn't cost more than a few bucks of maintenance to this day. Excellent choice for pros looking for a nice little all around chainsaw. My set up is 15 inch bar with with 20 LPX 64 oregon chain

  • 346xp is the best

  • can I push the like button twice??!

  • Husqvarna...mmm

  • Like this guys NO singing dancing, pissing and moaning opinion fuelled videos

let the saws do the talking.

IF YOUR GONA LOOK AFTER IT, BUY THE HUSKY!

IF YOUR NOT GONA LOOK AFTER IT, BUY THE STIHL

  • Husqvarna is #1

  • I own 4 Husky's and 6 Stihls, They both have their pros and cons. But here is the deal.

Husky's are a little cheaper, they are Hot, fast, have good air filtration, cut like mad! Ok, But they rattle themselves apart and you have to always tighten down the bolt's 'specially the muffler. Stihl's cost more feel more solid, run more solid, hold together and last longer. Ok, But the air filters get dirtier quicker. So , see they both have their pro's and cons. The is why I have both.

  • @prioritytree I have both as well and find that Stihl last longer and have better dealers .I know they cost more but I have a Husky that is a bag of %$it and has two good days of running on it and it has been at every Husky dealer around and still not fived .I have my first Stihl never been back to the dealer and have had it longer than the wife .I have 8 Stihl's and 4 Huskys I like them both but I will clean the filter more often on a saw that has a better built drive system any day.

  • stihl win

  • That Husky bogs down, and the Stihl holds its load better! Stihl all the way!!! Also compare to the new MS261 and see!

  • The Husqvarna is a faster cutting saw, more HP as told by my local Stihl dealer. But, the Stihl is a more durable longer living saw. I own Stihl, Husqvarna, and Dolmar. All are great saws.

  • 10 cuts with the Stihl. 27 + cuts with the Husky? If that gives you the results you are looking for than you rock on brother! I'll stick with my good ol 290 Farm Boss...

  • good sharp

  • I purchased my Husqy 445 a few months ago and couldn't be happier. This thing runs smooth, is light, easy to start, and as powerful as my friends ms250. I don't make a living felling trees, just thin out dead in my woods to heat my house and sell off a few cord. I don't know what saw will hold up the best but it's off to a hell of a start this year. Price isn't really the issue when comparing these saws as they are priced within $10 of each other.

Combine the best features = one HELL of a saw.

  • What is the difference bettween the ms 260 pro, and the ms 280..I notice the MS 290 is more than the MS 290, and new MS 311..Does anyone know why, thanks..

  • @MrShannon888 The ms260 pro and ms280 have a magnesium chassis, and magnesium sprocket cover. The ms290 and ms311 both have polymer chassis and sprocket cover. 260 and 280 cost more to manufacture. The 280 seems a little long and unbalanced to me. the 311 runs good, but if you want a saw that size, buy the ms362, little more expensive than the other saws, but well worth it, for how it performs, I should know I sell and service stihl saws everyday :)

  • as a professional forester our company uses stihl, we were using husky but had too many problems so we went with the stihl and never looked back, this video means squat really... so he cut the log more times with the husky, that has nothing to do with its quality... they used to be good but now they just cheap junk they is.... stihl makes the best saw today wouldnt touch a husky or a jonsered.....

  • I have a ms210 it is a 35cc and it cuts as fast as them.i have it for 7 years now.i cut down trees as big has 45 and 50.all i did when i got my ms210 was put a biger chain on it.

  • A slight muffler mod and retune on the Stihl Ms260, really wakes this saw up. That said Husky`s 346xp has better anti-vibration & filtration, In my opinion the Stihl 260 has the longevity . Both are great saws.

  • Stihl is the best chainsaw in the world.

  • 1.3mm vs 1.5mm?

  • i have seen too many chainsaws and they all make me sweaty...i don´t love them.

I like more 346 but stihl is more reliable technically.

  • woodsmanequipment com camarodan see prices...180$ more for the 346xp so my point still stands

  • husky wins

  • 346xp is also 150$ more than the 260...compare the 340 husky to the 260 150$ going the other way...more money better saw who would have thought?

  • @Karlos77777777 you better check your prices again, the stihl here is the ms260 pro wich retails for about $30 more than the 346xp, the husqy is by far the superior saw and for less money

  • husky is so much better than stihl any day

  • i use a ms 260 and i love it, but in this vid it seems the 346xp is better lol

  • i like a stihl, they last longer

  • Die husqvarna ist so häslich

  • PIcking it up Wednesday, I put a down payment on it to hold the non- e-tech NE version.

    18inch bar, .325, .58, h25

It depends on what i think when i use it, but I am going to stick with that for now.

  • 346 looks almost twice as fast. Gotta love the 346!! Both great saws though! Can't go wrong with either of them.

  • This video was the deciding factor for what saw i recently purchased...thanks for posting! ...the 346xp

  • @bezefus

cool, grat for your new saw!

  • @bezefus AT THE END OF THE DAY BEING A MECHANIC / LOGGER I HAVE BOTH SAWS MS460/372XP 7 THEY BOTH HAVE THERE STRENGHTS & WEEKNESS ! IF I HAD A CHOICE BY BOTH LOOKING AT SPARES AND QAULITY IT WUD HAVE TO BE HUSQY ESPECIALY AFTER LOOKING AT PARTS SUPPLIED FOR THE 2 MANUFACTURES!

  • I am thinking about buying the husqvarna with an 18 inch bar, .325 chain .58 guage, would you prefer that or switch over to 3/8?

  • @miniburbs

buy the 346xp as soon as possible, you will regret every day you lived without one

my fav setup is .325 16inch 20lpx or 95vpx or stihl rsc chain, i did not tried the 3/8 yet

  • @miniburbs dude get a MIKNE 20 inch bar it cut like a warm knife thorugh butter and its worth the money

  • Nice video! Stihl owns! :-D

  • good work

  • Well to be honest with you I havent used a husky much ,I have a stihl 034,and only use what I call chipper teeth blade,I believe my saw is the smallest to use that blade on,I love it ,has never failed to start, even in the coldest times, when I needed it most. I dont see why anybody would need more than one saw unless they might be in the business ,I do have maybe 10 chains razor sharp, and always a couple waiting their turn to be sharpened.

  • The size tree he was cutting he could've was an electric saw and got the same result

  • i prefer husqvarna

  • I've used lots of 260s, though good saws, they feel like lightweight hobby saws compared with the 346.

I was keen to buy a 260 initially, but Stihl's crazy price rises in the UK put me off that. I'm glad I ended up buying the 346 instead.

  • Well it does apear the husky was moving a little faster but Im a Stihl man,all saws will cut wood,my money is on the stihl, but Ill cut wood with anybody with any saw,I love to cut firewood !!!!!!! [and burn it to } ;)

  • @soggybuilders

hi, i understand that you are a stihl man, but if you try the two saws head to head, you will feel that ms260 is only a joke. I dont say 260 is a bad saw.

  • Great video. Good comparision.

  • Looks like they are the same....

    Bouth are good

  • Guess again...the 346 is about 30% faster. Not even close. I've owned 3 of them, including one of the new 50 cc ones. all woods ported. The NE is putting out close to 5.5 horsepower.

  • @TheMuggOst

maybe looks the same, but the personal feeling reveals real big difference.

  • Ha egyenesen vágtad volna, eladhatnád poháralátétnek!

  • Vittem haza pár jobb példányt, de szétszáradtak...

  • I have tried both and I really like Husqu because Stihl is heavy and vibrates hard. 10 points to Husqvarna. Greetings from Estonia.

  • @Mosa9112

As i remember the ms260 is a bit lighter than the 346xp, an there were nothing vibration.

  • @dieseldick3408

they are both pro saws, and they are in the same category

    ms260 with 3.5hp

    346xp with 3.7hp

  • the stihl ms260 is a forestry standard saw dickhead... i have both saws, and i think they are both god, the husky cuts faster and accelerates faster, but the stihl is just easyer to service, to get parts for, to fit part yourself, and has the quick open fuel caps for less down time,

  • husqvarnas kick ass

  • I tried to link to jashar92's video of his ported 346. Didn't work. Just do a search on his user name......I have the first one he did, which was 54% faster than stock. His second was 58%....He's done many 046, 372, 385, 390's with great results. Anyone want a woods saw, look him up.

  • No comparison, The 346 is the better saw. I've had three, tow of the 45 cc old model, and now the new 50 cc, which rates 3.8 hp versus 3.2 on the newer detuned 260. But all of mine have been fully woods ported, so are way way faster.

I also have 2 Dolmar 5100s, one is ported. great saw, but a bit heavier and bulier. The 346NE is the better saw.

  • i work with both these saw... i think both saws are awsome... the stihl is just easyer to service and has handy little bits like quick opening fuel caps. however the husky revs faster, and is more comfortable to use.

  • hmm I see that the husky obviously revs faster and cuts faster as well, a lot of people I know have the stihl, how does the angled top handle feel on the husky? and when you rev them, does the husky rotate in you hands like the stihl does? one last thing, in your opinion, which one do you like best- considering, build/starting/speed-ease of use/feul economy/price etc.

    Cheers!

    DB

  • Nice video, yes the Husky is a newer design. I own the same saw in a Jonsered CS2153 and it is amazing. Great light weight high power fast cutting little saws.

  • You've obviously never seen a pine tree before I take it?

  • Husky cuts faster because it have higher rpms, displacement almost identical.

  • i would hope so, the 346 is an almost 10 year newer design.

  • Thanks for watching!

I think the husky is significantly faster than the 260,

    10 cookies:

    stihl - 16,5sec

husky - 13sec in the thicker wood

I did the best i can on the sharpening to make the test evenhanded .

  • Hi, I liked your video. Seems like the Husky is slightly faster than the Stihl. I think you did a good job sharpening the chains.
