They come out with the V-rod in 2001 (arguably the most powerful bike they've ever made), and Americans bitch about how it's not a real Harley. It's liquid cooled. It's not loud and obnoxious. @SETHNEEDSAHUG that is true, but HD never has made a good performance bike, maybe performance cruiser but not top performance motorcycle. They would need to compete in road racing for that. Its a nice powerful bike but by no means is it going to out run a 1000. Two completely different classes of bikes, and thats ok, its up to rider what he wants.

The VRod engine was designed by VW, thats why the engine sounds like a 1964 bug was loose heads! I couldn't stop laughing at the asshole trying to do burnouts with that junk. My Hayabusa will spin the tyre by just opening the throttle, and thats at 100kmh. Hardlys have to start off in their own motor oil that has leaked out, then somebody has to lift the weight off the rear tyre, and the clutch has to be popped out, with a wide open throttle. The other thing is most all Hardly riders are gay!

The V-Rod is not designed by "Porsche". The V-Rod is designed by Harley Davidson. The engine however was helped along by Porsche. Being that it is based on the VR-1000 Racing engine which was a team effort between HD and Porsche, it would only make sense to bring them back on board. Porsche and HD worked together to make the engine more street able. Just wanted to clear up a common misconception.
