I had to memorize this poem for school when we read this.

we read this in middle school right before No Child Left Behind happened and fucked up the classrooms with their standardized bullshit. kids were actually kinda taught to develop socially and critically and shit like under-age smoking wasn't used to deny socioeconomic problems between kids that DO happen in real life and can fuck up someone mentally. all they do now is rememorize vocabulary words and math formulas.

@Acharmye thanks:) for the response, ive finally got the book now from my local library couldnt find it before, had to go to a different state to find it but im going through it so fast and its amazing and pretty much word for word what the movie is most of it anyway :)

@TheChemi Anytime, I've become pretty familiar with this fandom from reading the book once or twice, I think once. And Outsiders fanfiction on fanfiction . net and seeing the movie. But there is one thing you should check out that will rock your world, the OUtsiders TV Series(type it in to find it on youtube), it's great tho Soda's cast badly, Johnny's funeral wasn't mentioned which is whack & there's no Curly or Angela. Darry, Tim, Cherry, Two-Bit, Steve & Pony are cast nicely tho.

@Acharmye I know right, its amazing how they got so much just like in the book so when i read the book i can just picture the movie in my head at the same time. And im gonna have to look into that series sometime cause im just crazy about the outsiders it fits my life so well you know.

@TheChemi It is isn't it?! Everything is the same except for 1 scene, the part where Two-Bit defends Johnny from his parents. It's on youtube but I don't remember it in the movie for some reason. Yeah it's on youtube anytime you want to see it, just google 'Outsider TV Series'
