    That's all I'm saying

  • totaly got owned there lol.

  • this nigguh is NICE

  • finally i've been waiting for three years for an asian to actually start in the nfl

  • damn two ravens going at it

  • Comment removed

  • i meant to say im asian too! :)

  • im respresenting dat nguyen and haruki nakmura man!!!! i myself am a linebacker in high school. asians to nikka!!

  • holy crap 3:10

  • he comes from a little known school so he has to make big plays to get noticed. heck of a hitter.

  • he Came from St. Eds in Lakewood Ohio, Eds has the most state championships in Ohio for all sports, so not really little known school. Alex Boone and Nate Oliver from Ohio State also went there

  • ohhh so is half japanese?

  • 2:41 is awesome. Haruki Nakamura was one of my favorite all-time college players.

  • haha ya man but saftey or corner the only postion us half japanese kids can play

  • dat nguyen was a beast linebacker for the cowboys though

  • Hines Ward is half Korean, idiot. Also don't forget TJ Houshama whatever!

  • tj whosurmama. easiest way to remember it.

  • @jkbezo T.J. Houshmanzadeh is half Persian so we can play too.

  • Don't forget Chad and Johnnie Morton dum dum.

I, myself is half Black(father) and Latino/Filipino(mother). I played football (WR) in High School and Junior college before going into the service. I played well, in fact I was quick. Also Timmy Chang is now in the CFL.

So the answer to you questions, yes Asians can play football.

  • as long as theyre half something else

  • foolish man, timmy chang is full asian so is dat nguyen

  • i hate the Bengals for not drafting this kid

  • i still miss Haruki at UC. Him giving 110% all the time really pushed the D to its full potential and it influenced others to work harder.

  • Im a Ravens fan and Im happy we got him. Watching this kid play in preseason, I just knew he was a good player. He plays special teams right now for the most part, but he goes hard and makes plays.

  • oh mang i seen that sonofabitch last monday the first tackle of the game he's playing on special teams tackles that kid reaturning the kickoff and they took ten minutes to scrape his body off of the damn field.

  • Anyone happen to catch his hit on that steeler player first play of the game last night?? (kickoff)

  • damn, he hits hard. Is he like half white, n japanese or somthing cause he looks mixed.

  • i read he is korean american

  • na, cause i remember watchin a game with cincinatti n they said his dad was japanese, n also his name is str8 up japanese as well. he might be mixed with korean as well though idk.

  • lol...it said NAKAMURA,even if he mix, he should have japanese in his blood.

  • He is Japanese.

  • I stand corrected, people say he is 1/2 Japanese 1/2 white.

  • i like the music, wat is it called?

  • bob sanders is white

  • michael jackson is black.

  • I hope that someday the world stops talking about color. It simply doesn't matter.

  • Ideally it doesn't, but for a lot of Asian-Americans, it's very uplifting to see more AA players in the NFL.

  • what an awesome player

  • I cant wait to watch this kid in baltimore. He is going to be flying around every ware. A year or two from now, he will be starting next 2 ed reed!

  • Haruki, I just want to wish you the best of luck as you begin your NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens. I know that you are excited and looking forward to August 7 when you all travel to Foxboro to face the AFC Champion Patriots. Again, congratulations and good luck.

  • wow

  • Hey everyone..he's a RAVEN!

  • reminds me of sean taylor

  • race has nothing to do with skill...and how does he remind you o sean taylor if hes asian? lmao

  • um maybe cuz he kind of hits like him? -_-

  • this kid was a stud in cincy. i wish the bengals would have drafted him

  • would yall say a white bob sanders

  • hes asian lol

  • You all know what they say: "It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog."

  • go ruki, great player and he is determined to prove to people that his height doesn't slow him down. Ive heard the height of 5'10" thrown around but im 5'11" and he was at least 2 inches shorter than me when i met him about a month before the papa johns bowl(cats got the shaft). Go cats cant wait for the '08 season got (free)tix to every game as my sister is on the dance team woo hoo.

  • Thats retarded, some of the best Dbacks in the league are under 6 feet. He could take your 6'2 ass down like nothing...

  • look atBob Sanders 5'8" can come up and tackle the running back in the backfeild and throw big hits force fumble and cover wideouts. If ur a WR are u going to be scared of a safety who is almost your height or one who can knock the shit out of you.Height is too overrated for DBs and the shorters one's are the best tacklers...Sanders,Winfield,Reed,Polamalu,Sheppard,Samuel.list can keep going on..NOTE:6ft or under..all im just sayin is give him his Respect and not diminish what he have accomplished

  • all i gotta say to that is bob sanders, berry sanders, maurice jones drew, darrell green, steve smith, deion branch etc.

And he's 5-10 thats only one more inch shorter than ed reed

  • wtf are u saying most dbs are 6ft or shorter he is 5'10" average height for Dbs...and yes he could probably built a robot to play his position...two more things that you cant do play NCCA and NFL football and built a robot...give him his prop and stop hatin cuz he's half asian you incest redneck

  • why do you even speak, or attempt to speak rather, and your attempt is pathetic at best, back to your bench, back to your corner, back to your finger paints.

  • ill be back on your mom later

  • hes gonna be the gunner on special teams the headhunter probably nothing else.

  • Where are they gonna put him??? Ed Reed is still young so he aint gonna switch in and out wit Ed Reed...They also drafted another FS from ND...Yamon Figurs is probably the fastest guy on their team and he has KR and PR down unles he gonna give Nakamura the PR.

Or are they gonna fit Nakamura as a NickelBack...or fit him for a CB. What do my fellow ravens think?? CUz waitin for Ed Reed to get old and injured is like waitin for Ray Lewis to retire lol Not gonna happen for a LONG while lol

  • Ed Reed will be turning 30 this year. That's starting get on the back end of his career. A few years down the road, they may have to consider handing off the reins to someone else.

And a quality backup is always a need. We saw what happened last year, with injuries plaguing the secondary. With a sixth rounder, you're just kind of sifting through, hoping to find a gem.

Zbikowski, the kid from ND, is a strong safety. Dawan Landry is 25 - they still used a 3rd rounder to back up the position.

  • He is turnin 30 this year? Well the only ppl that really got injured was the CB's. Cuz i remember it was Ed Reed, Sapp and Ivy in the secondary. Reed didnt have good support and got fucked up against the steelerz. BUt i see what ur sayin. Haruki has alottta Reed'z attributes. SO i see what ur sayin..Do u think Zbikowski is gonna start over Landry? Cuz i figured they put the heavy hitter from ND from FS to SS jus cuz he plays the run so well. And Do u think Yamon Figurs will play more this year?

  • Welcome to B-more Hiroki. Welcome to the best defense to walk the planet and with you we just got a little better. Sick!!

  • Wow 3:12! That's what Baltimore Defense is! Welcome home buddy, I think you're goin to like it here!

  • now i need a new favorite UC player, great season ruke

  • H probably won't start but I think Nakamura is going to make his mark on the special teams coverage units. His hard-nosed, hard-hitting style is perfect. He would also be a quality back-up to Ed Reed.

  • Wow... Perfect fit in Balitmore!!! If he is going to be a star in the NFL Baltimore is his best chance!!! Im so happy with this pick!!! :)

  • BONSAIIIIIIIII!

  • Good luck in Baltimore Haruki!

  • too small

  • Ed Reed is 5'10...and he is the best safety in the NFL..I dun think he is TOO small..plus it all depends on the impact u have in the league..

  • gOD DAMN!

    Holding it down!

  • HA, now him and Ray Rice are Ravens

  • welcome to the ravens

  • Would look good on the Eagles... next Brian Dawkins?

  • Wow, its seems as if us Saints fans are the only people who know about the kid. WHO DAT!

  • He had a private workout with the 49ers.

On Senior Night at UC he got the biggest ovation by far.

  • this kid loves to hit. he plays fast and he plays hard nosed. my favorite bearcat the last few years!

  • lets get him saints!

  • My Saints will get him in the 6th or 7th round.

  • That "old lady" is his mom - a 6th degree black belt in judo!

  • Everyone in his family has a national championship in Judo...I'm not kidding.

  • who's the old lady hugging him at the end of the video?

  • That's his mom at sr. night.

  • This may finally wake more asians up to play American Football. I hope he starts and becomes a role model for more people to play football. Cause then he would have done what I have dreamed of doing. He's also going to be the first Japanese starter in the NFL. Hopefully... I'm hoping for him to become a hall of fame but hey that's too soon to decide. I really like his mentality.

    ~Later!!

  • i was looking at the proday workouts and i saw this guys name. i was like haruki nakamura wtf? this guy japanese? i have never heard of asians playing football

  • he's alwways around the ball. He will become great in the pros

  • He was an impact player in the Hula Bowl. And he's got good measurables. At the very least, a special teams demon.

  • yeah. i like his mentality though

  • he a best played wit him in e-town raw video no lie

  • kids a stud

  • its the shit himself

    love the usf bodyslam.
