You do know that the series are prequels to Street Fighter II and Alpha 3 wraps everything perfectly up? But I do agree, make an Alpha-esque game that ties Street Fighter IV to III.

you can really see Ryu's progression through his theme music (aside from his appearance) if you look at it chronologically. (alpha 3 theme is like hard and adreniline puppin= young Ryu. Street Fighter 2 theme is like Ryu is older and more wise and finally Street Fighter 3 theme is like he's aged and become an master fighter)

Goku and Ryu are only equals pre Dragon Ball Z, like when goku is a teenager and fights Piccollo in Dragon Ball as a teenager. During Z hes way too good. Goku could beat pretty much anyone, due to DBZ making their characters much too strong.

I never understood why Capcom was never willing to give Ryu "The Road" as his theme in any other games, and kept going back to "Go Flying Through The Air" (or whatever his old SF2 theme is being called this week) over and over again. Given, for SFIV, I understand more so, because it, storyline-wise, follows SFII, where as Alpha is before II. This theme in particular ("The Road") symbolizes the path Ryu's chosen and that he's moving up as a fighter. He's not quite legendary yet, but he's on the road to it.

As a matter of fact, the original hadoken wasn't even blue. Yeah, street fighter has always been one step behind dbz. I like both, but they really gotta stop dickriding dragon ball. Alpha and 3rd strike seemed the most original, number 4 though is a failed attempt to be on dbz's level.
