Yea Jerry was a good guitar player but look at Mad Season, Mcready was a way better guitar player but his work on that album didn't do him justice, but that album was amazing because of Layne. I honestly dont know any of Jerry's songs outside of AIC. lol

@agoble1000 You're forgeting that Jerry wrote the majority of there songs along with composing the music. Layne was one of the greatest rock singers of all time but there is a reason he wasn't a solo artist. You should discount the work and effort the other members put into the sound of the band.

And Jerry may have written a fair share of Alice music but Jerry even admitted himself that Layne helped with pretty much everything. If jerry had issues he'd hand the paper to Layne and it'd come back finished as a complete song melodies and all. Just because jerry's name was to a song doesnt mean it was all him.

I have heard of other cases where persons on drugs say that their loved ones are not their friends. I guess if you are pressuring someone to "change" then that makes you not a "friend". The thing about heroin it seems, or any drug, is that the addiction happens slowly. The person takes it, it feels good. But, at some point it seems that the drug is needed to feel "normal". At that point to stop is painful. I don't think anyone wants to be an addict.

Jerry may not have Layne's voice but he was the one who started the band. Layne was starting a thrash metal band before Jerry asked him to join. If you're ever in Seattle visit the EMP, they have an exibit about the local bands from the mid 80's to 90's.
