Hey Tony great video. So what you made would be a eau de cologne strength? How would I make that if I wanted a eau de parfume concentration say in a 2oz spray bottle? Why 80 proof vodka and not everclear? How much of those oils would you use to make a 2oz spray bottle using a carrier oil like jojoba or maybe fractionated coconut oil? You can message me if you like. I know loads of question. Sorry. I just wanna learn. ha ha ha

@SmellingPimp80 no what I made was a cologne---eau means water and that would make it a perfume---so to make it stronger increase either the alcohol or the essential oil--if you add oil to it then it will gum up your mister---and if that is the cas then use make a cream or lotion

what is the difference between alcohol and vodka.

@maria5221961code One you can drink and will not cause tissue damage the other is way to harsh and will break you down--the idea is to utilize something that acts as a solvent with out the damage vodka-gin-grappa ( depending on strenght) tequila are drinkable and in small amounts have no issues wth the tissues--in high amounts different story the isoprlys and methanls are another story and are toxic

i just bought some pine needle oil and iam making some too. ive done alot of reading on it and put some on my skin. i didnt breakout or anything. does that mean its ok for me to use?

@nico27004 Safe is a relative term ---will depend on how strong you make the cologne---even safe can be annoying if over done---suggested reading would be to read Art of aromatherapy by Jean Valnet---in my humble opinion is one of the best information on the subject --most other aromatherapy books I have found are useless--and give very little--

@nico27004 Ok there is a book out by Jean Valnet called the art of aromatherapy buy it or bootlegg it whichever works for you --this will get you started do not make any colognes til you read and study--the one way to see if an oil irritates is to use a drop on one secton of the body in a carrier oil and see how you react--Pine is good as well

Does vodka work that much better than aloe vera juice as a base? Wouldn't the aloe be better for us and much cheaper?

remember this is a cologne---colognes are alcohol based--perfumes are water and alcohol based---so again it would depend on your taste in scents and materials are going to be determined by you--but remember what the terms are we are calling a cologne and or perfume or a a scented material

Okay, I'm trying to make my own cologne using fragrance oils, instead of essential oils, because of the cost. However, when I added the vodka, it turned a cloudy color. Is this normal and will it dissipate as it sets? Also, does it need to be in a fridge or anything or just a cool, dark place?

EVEN AIR BORNE WHEN BREATHE IN CAN CAUSE LUNG AND CELLULAR DAMAGE

THIS IS WHY i SHOWED IT TO YOU IN ESSENTIAL OILS-F the fragrance oils were any good we would not need to be making any f this but since most of them cause mutation of the cells and cancers and other immune system break down we don't use them ,cost should be measured in value if you can only get one oil then that is all you use

Hmm..did not know that since fragrance oils are FDA approved to be safe and are used in virtually every cologne out on the market. But, you can't always trust the FDA these days because of the "trade secret" laws that manufacturers have where they don't have to list the ingredients. Thanks for telling me this. I'll throw it out ASAP.

@jreily88 fda=Death,look the Fda has not for over 35-45 years done anything for the Amercian people in regard to protecting the country at all-in 1986 they deleted the delaney act which protect Ameriicans and set the standard for the plnaet for food safety and health-since the 60's the introduced ant poison as a sweetner ( aspartame) Endocrine and cancer causing foods ( soy and canola) and have allowed antifreeze to be put in the foods you eat ( propylene glycol and porpylene ethylene glycol )

are you adding a acid--dmso--another solvent---it may benefit---but the reason you are adding it to this first off is that colognes are in ALCOHOL--not water--second a cologne is a mixtureof water an alcohol what are we making here--a cologne--you can make things anyway you like but this was a way to make a cologne

they are usually toxic and can cause unnecessary damage to the cells and can be extremely carcingenic---if you make anything then use the essential oils and make things with them these are Healants and not synthetic( not the real ones are not anyway)

Yes, and that has been my intention from the beginning. I love the good things that Allaah (the proper name for God) has Created. People can't get it right when they try to remake the original that way. That"s some cool stuff! I keep a mist bottle of clove and just water from my Alhambra Water Service and use that on myself or on countertops to disinfect as needed. But now I have kind of a ratio guideline to go by next time I want or need to replenish. : )

Just wanted to add, the guy coughing on the bus could have been having an allergic reaction to one of the Essential Oils.

But I do agree with wearing them for anti microbial, anti viral, properties. So far this year I've escaped two colds my family had by using Essential OIls.
