@xionicwaste because we had already come around on the trail, with a sight-seeing rig right behind me. just decided to make a left and drop in. it's an obstacle - no real forwards or backwards to it...
@NemoPhotoInc i've actually since sold the rig and gone on to an Xterra. i don't need a unibody 4-wheeling rig (like the more recent pathfinders) thankyouverymuch
@mmbantz That's why I like my Amigo for the trails. 5-speed, manual lock hubs, D44, Fully boxed frame, short wheel base, lol. PERFECT rig for playing in.
@chomas001 Nope - I came in unlocked in the front (rear Detroit, front D44 with an ARB) and engaged the ARB to climb out since I got off-line a little bit. Keeping everything locked going in puts way too much stress on every u-joint you've got...
Love it!!!! I got a 94 Passport, mildly modified, and she's done some things people can't believe. Of course I'm running out of zip-ties and duct tape to hold her together LMAO
Right! While I've always wanted an old-school 'Rover to wheel, I'm seriously lacking on enough tools and electronics experience to keep it running to the mailbox and back.
long story short: cut off the front suspension down to the frame rails, put a '75 wide Dana 44 Chevy axle in and an '84 14-bolt Chevy in the rear. 100% homegrown lift...
sweet dude.. ive got a 92 myself.. tons of torque on low end.. auto also.. where does yours idle at? mines doing a good 500rpms.. kinda rough.. any ways to adjust idle?
omg! I have a '95(.5) passport (same car) and I felt proud when i saw this.. and a little amazed that your stock spare tire holder could hold that big of a tire.. most guys have to get one custom made.. Good job though man!
You're doing it wrong! :-)

@bnsdesign what wasn't too clearly shown in the video was the moment the rear axle left the ground. so... "easy" could be a relative term

Funny - someone asked me that once. "Lift kit" doesn't even begin to describe...
It's all 100% custom. You can see pretty much all the gory details at:

Thanks!
