Then by your logic, if I were to ask "what is a man?" Would the definition be "a miserable little pile of secrets?"
Should it not be "an adult male person, as distinguished from a boy or a woman" just because some people say it means the former? Should we just discard the dictionary and follow the urbandictionary or wikipedia definition of things just because people's opinions have changed (for the worse I might add) rather than the word itself?

Look, stop changing the subject. My POINT here is that over time, the English language morphs and adapts. Homo means same and sexual, when added on, refers to sexuality, yes? Homophobic is simply shorter to say than "homosexualphobic," and it's a highly accepted term in culture now. It's an official phobia word. Now, the dictionary is lovely and all, but we can't take every word literally from it. Otherwise there'd be no originality whatsoever.

In fact, political correctness kills originality. By censoring every word and making certain words forbidden to use (because they have been grossly misinterpreted and might offend people), you only limit the extent in which people can communicate and in effect kill any originality in the process.

Just look what censorship has done to video games. Some games have had references to religions or things that certain cultures find offensive, and then been banned or had the offending parts removed. Comment space is limited but if you're a gamer, you know what I mean. Many games have had entire storylines removed (including several hours of gameplay omitted) and changed from their original content and intent just because of political correctness.

Yes, but part of originality is innovation and invention. Throughout time, language changes. We look back at 19th-century literature and have a harder time understanding it than text from today. The pattern will continue forever. Original thought is fine, but the reason I get pissed off at people saying "fag" or "gay" is because people always mean it in a derogatory way. People have a lack of originality if they can't find synonyms. Perhaps they should consult a thesaurus.
