  • Hey Man, thank you much.

Being brand new to Linux, I had this problem for over 2 months trying to figure out how to install my WUSB300N wireless adapter. You're right boss, this is stupidly easy, and now my wireless works.

FYI (I'm sure you already heard this) I'm using Ubuntu v11.04 and it works with your instructions.

Again, Thanks a Million. I owe you a Beer.

    Take Care.

  • muchas gracias man, no lo hubiera logrado sin tu ayuda

  • I have a Dell Inspiron 600m and I don't know what driver I need. The network card has not been changed. The thing is, every driver I've looked at is *.exe not *.inf, *.zip, or *.rar

  • Thanks.

As someone that's new to Linux, this video really helped!

  • How did you unzip the file to get the .inf?

  • Just want to say thanks, Had looked at loads of sites but this was by far the most straightforward and easy to follow.

  • ups wait its only for the wireless card i have an internal if so how do i do the internal

  • one more thing were did u get the files from

  • man my laptop has NO internet connection but i downloaded the files in another computer i have it in my usb will it work . or where can i get it to be able to download to ubuntu

  • Thank you so much for uploading this tutorial!! I just installed Xubuntu 10.04 on an old Dell laptop I had lying about, and I was having the hardest time trying to figure out the Wi-Fi configuration process. Your video did a good job explaining the steps for me.

Cheers from a Linux newbie! :)

  • For those who can't find an .INF file and it only comes with a .exe (like mine) all you have to do is install WINE through software center and right click and install the setup to a folder on your desktop. In there look through and you should find a Drivers folder with a .INF if not check out the other folders.

  • @BozomoShorts hey i did this... but after wine trys to install it it says ERROR: blah blah blah cannot do it blah. help me out man? i have a belkin wireless usb. thanks so much :)

  • My driver does not have any .INF files. Its a dell 1350 wifi. any ideas?

  • Why does it tell me I need the ubuntu cd to install ndisgtk. Anyway I did that and apparently It is the wrong name but the path it looking for on the cd is a valid path? Please Help

  • Where I can download the file from the windows drivers?

  • @dbh1cibai from the manufacturer's website most likely. i downloaded mine from Linksys' website.

  • @lmull3 Thank you.

  • @dbh1cibai no problem

  • can someone please help me find a driver that i can do this with for a Broadcom BCM4311 wireless driver? like one that has the appropriate (.inf) file exstension? pleease! im so desperate. i needz my wireless

  • can anyone please send me a link for a Broadcom BCM4311 driver download with that has the right files (.inf extentions) so that i can do this? please, im desperate.

  • @XsullenoneX

You do not any .inf extensions.

  • On my computer I try to connect and it keeps asking for the WPA key. I keep entering it and it never connects. Can you help me?

  • @cusinndzl assuming that's Ubuntu 9.10, that is likely because the network manager has sucked since they implemented a new one in 9.10. the same thing happens to me with WEP keys on certain machines.

  • Funny. I'm using the same version of Ubuntu and I don't have those options to download/install ndiswrapper.

  • @BioOrganic1 did you check the boxes in "Other Software"?

  • @BioOrganic1 it's not that it doesn't have the options, you just can't find it.

  • Shit... I'm just need a video tutorial on how to use ndiswrapper in 9.10.

  • LOl, stupid comment sorry, I got far, but i can't necessarily get a handle on the connection.

  • how can i get this visual ndiswrapper cuz i dont have internet on my computer i mean i have but only wireless and i need to install it on my ubuntu os please help me

  • Great video dude, it worked perfect for me.

  • ubuntu is probably the best os for laptops.

  • well, i'd say it's the best linux OS for laptops. i use it on my netbook on a daily basis as well as a desktop at home.

  • well, i could not install it.

    1) i tried using my cd as software sources but it said to insert the cd.

    2) i booted from the cd and installed ndiswrapper

and i tried every .inf file in every folder of every version of my linksys wusb54gsc

    3) i failed.

  • thanks for simplifying this IBM Thinkpad A21e, now get some sleep you insomniac , lol

  • yay, sleep :P

  • how come when i type ndiswrapper nothing shows up? do i have to download that first?

  • it should be there. you might have to go into Software Sources in the settings and checkmark the two things under "other software".

  • The only thing the ethernet cable is acceptable at my home is the 2 year old desktop iMac. I always try to have my laptops as wireless.

  • ah, it's good to have at least one wired connection i think. for me it's the computer i built back in 2005
