1969 Dodge Dart Swinger Hyperpack 4 Speed

Nice Mopar man, Im going to buy a 69 dart next week with a 225. I used to have a 1972 Plymouth Scamp with a 225 slant with a few mods but I never really got into the headers and hyper packs. How much HP are you pushing out off your slant? Do you see a big difference to power when you add a hyper pack and headers?

@TheFireman626 the headers and Intake dont make that much difference if you dont support it with the Head work, Valves, Cam and compression.. This Car Makes 275ishHP...184 at the wheels.

@bluebulk Currently Using the Mopar Performance (purple Shaft) .528" Lift cam With 1.6 Roller Rockers.. You might find this cam i you look hard at Swaps or ebay It's No longer made by chrysler / Mopar / Direct Connection.

@hyperpack I thought so! Great car. I remember seeing a '62 Valiant w/225, naturally aspirated, turn an 11.88 at Bristol in '93. Merril Bruner, I think. The car was called Half Hemi. That's about the time I got into the /6.

@cincyblows Yes Merril Is still around in the Knoxville / Maynardville TN. Area - The Half Hemi I do not believe is around.. There are other Members of the Bruner Family that run some fast slants still!

hey i was just wondering if you had to notch your pistons because of that 284 cam?

I only had to Notch the pistons after taking the .100" off the head and block and using 1.6 rockers If i milled the head less or block less or used 1.5's then no notching with this cam.

That is the Sticker that comes on the Exhaust pipe from the parts store.. Never took it off.

jus wondring i have a 69 dart swinger 340 x heads 4 speed with 391s posi with the stock 340 still in the car rebuilt once in 1991. with a few bolt ons mufflers coil wires air filter add ons with street tires bf goodrich tas. with the 391s what do you think id run down the track on the quarter mile . it also has the 8 and 3 quarter rear end with a rebuilt new rear end gears . still stock gears.

Hello, From What I have seen Most 340 Darts with stock engines run low 14's maybe high 13's depending on gearing

Sounds exactly like my first car, 69 swinger w. 340. Except I had 2.71 gears and a 727 trans. would top the speedo. Guessing 140, Above 130 the wiper blades would move up on the windshield.

Iam hoping to stuff a 170ci or 198ci \6 in my TR7!! It had a slant-4 in it! So whats a couple more cylinders!! Its a tr7 so if it requires firewall massaging with a sledge hammer so be it!!! }-)

I have cutouts on the car which are open in this video - the car des have mufflers for the street - Stocke 69 340 swinger mufflers and tailpipes out the back.

Mopar performance has discontinued just about everything for the slant six. Comp cams can still grind you up a pretty nasty cam for a 225.

The Cam is  Mopar Performance Purple Shaft Cam P4529343 .528" Lift and 284* Duration - I rin 1.6 Roller Rockers sot it ends up at .562" lift
