I got this for my PC build. It's almost here, It will feature the ASUS Sabertooth P67, i5 2500k 3.3ghz processor, Corsair Vengance 16gb DDR 3 memory, two ASUS 560 Ti 1gb video card in SLI mode. Antec 620 Water cooler for the CPU. Intel 320 120 GB SSD, WD Caviar Green 1.5TB HDD 64MB cache. Samsung BluRay reader combo drive with light scribe. It's gonna be kick ass. Fuck Alienware. I saved $700 buying the parts myself and I got more than what they offered for the stock system, including tools!
@yamamma1212 the 550 ti is about 9 inches, not 12, the 6970 is 12 inches (i dont know any 12 inch nvidia cards, so any card around the power of a 6970 is about 11-12 inches)
This case is brilliant bought it as a pre build for £ 79 off pcspecialist but if you go on amazon you can buy this case for £ 69 it's well worth a look
@hope00hope Yes, that's what I'm getting next week. There is just one 'problem', you have to remove the front panel, then the top panel and install the 2 120mm from corsair h100 on top of the case not from inside, and inside on top you put the radiator and is should fit. I did some tests with 120mm fans and they have space inside the top plastic panel. Otherwise installed all from inside is look there is no space for the 25mm thick fans and the 27mm thick radiator because of the ram.
@hope00hope I got my H100 a little faster and I have already installed it and I din't make a video or pictures. It went ok as I have told you. Yes it makes a huge diff: I have an AMD FX-8120 and with stock cooler it had with app 20 degrees more and made a huge noise. Now I got even 9 degrees Celsius on idle and app 24 on load and I can enjoy the silence :D
This case is a PC builders dream. It's not too big and it's not too small. I have the nVidia 690 and I love it. There's also a clear sided door that can be purchased for these cases and it looks cool.
I have this case and it is the best you can get. Not to Big, Not to Small and very good space inside it. I promise that it seems cooler in reality. + over 100 dollars is to much for just the case it is the stuff inside you need to play whit the price
I notice the mortherboard you guys use, is it a X58 - UD3/5/7 series mortherboard ?.. i my self have a X58A-UD5 and would love to know if theres enofh space for 3 mounted HD5xxx (dual slots) gfx. since i need room for 3 of those, and i find it hard to spot if there is this needed room, especially since the Gigabyte X58 seems to have all the PCi-E slots a bit low on the board. I belive this is the isue, but can you give me some light on the isue ?.
I have this one, with stock cooling and no additional fans, though the graphics card has two fans (Asus GT 560 TI). The temps are 30*C idle and barely into the 50s when gaming.
@Arkos13031, No, only the included fans and the stock heat sink on the processor. Gets up to 65 in a real 100% on all cores stress test, but if a game manages to max out cores like that (example: Dragon Age: Origins), it's most probably a bug and it's temporarily solved by setting the affinity to only two cores.
I'm curious about the PSU mounting options... my present set up has its PSU fan pointed down at the grates (it's an old centurion case from 2008), over the years this arrangement has kept my system cool but it's also sucked up a great deal of animal hair from my cat. @jamtraxx - Awesome. If it didn't, I was going to go for the Corsair Carbide 400R but that's a slightly more expensive case. Any idea if the fans on the CM690II are Pulse Width Modulated?
NEWS UPDATE (This is not spam, but the truth): As of right now, September 21, 2011 the Cooler Master Silent pro 850 watt and 1000 watt modular power supply are being sold on Amazon for $89.99 and and $129.99 respectively. This is one hell of a deal and I couldn't help but snag the 850 watt psu last night! TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS DEAL WHILE IT STILL LASTS!
@marino4691 yes, because hot air always goes up, the back fan should ALWAYS exhaust that heat out of the case or else you would have warm air build up in the case causing cpu overheat, but side and front fans should intake air
if you have another fan on the top of the case it should exhaust air too
@ItWasntMe456 - I just got this case... I can't figure out how the hell to get the top panel off (I need to get to the top fan so I can unscrew it and reposition it so the cord is coming out from the left back side... that way I can actually plug it in where I need it to), all I can manage is to get the front panel off... can't find the clips for the top.
@WiiClassic2usb take off both side panels. reach under the lip at the top and you will feel 6 tabs. 2 in the center and 2 at each end. gently push them outward and and pull up. start at the back and work your way to the front. it will come off
@ItWasntMe456 They seem to have updated the case, adding a USB 3 version and fixing the shock issue by grounding the front panel. Just got one, love it! :)
@ItWasntMe456 Not even sure where you could find one. But when I bought this, it was slightly updated and the box had a sticker with 'USB 2.0 version' checked. The other was the USB 3 version. t supposedly doesn't include the card holder and removes the eSATA to make room for 2 USB3 and 2 USB@ ports...
@ItWasntMe456 I said I didn't see it, but a sticker on the USB2 version I got mentioned it so it must exist. A quick Google search could lead you to this: pccasegear com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=18722
@AllAroundBang not a biggie. my motherboard came with a usb 3.0 front panel connecter anyway. the bracket fits into a 5 1/4 cover with a 3.5" cutout so it looks factory.
I'm seriously looking at this case as an upgrade to my Coolermaster Elite 370. The 370 is great but I want black inside and cable management, drive slots for SSD. Looks like a superb case.
Just got it today. Spent 2 hours basically "re-assembling" my PC, never had i ever encountered such easiness and cleanness. Not a single issue in wiring and my first "proper" case. Filters everywhere!.
i would be interested to know if it would fit H100 cooler with push/pull setup? is it enough space at the top? I dont want to take the radiator out of the case to have push/pull. Owerall nice review.
@BaronaSSS Problem is tha even Noctua 14 is too high. so I had to use lower NOCTUA NH-U12P . Even with lower 12P-15,8cm version You can forget of mounting big left side cooler too.
@VZ7inHD Definatly. I have a GTX 560 ti in the same case. looks like a beast, the longest graphics card it can hold is around 11 inches, plenty of space.
Can you tell me, please, what's the name of that water cooling system (5:01)?
By the way, your reviews are awesome. They really are the best and the most helpfull I've watched. This really helped me in deciding to buy this case or not and I bought it!
This case is great. I personally think it's the best mid-tower case on the market.
Not just for the price, but for the features too! Guys, if you're looking for a mid-tower, this is it.
the review somehow missed the most idiotic thing i have seen in a case design. for the power supply, they put the filter INSIDE under the psu. all the other filters are OUTSIDE. this means to clean the psu filter you have to open the pc, REMOVE the psu, clean the filter, then reinstall everything. W!T!F! they turn a 20 second process into a BIG Pain in the BUTT.
Yes totally true, I think that is the only time they made that mistake, I own the HAF912 (which is cheaper) and even on that case you can take it off easily from the outside.
My only concern with tooless HD racks like this is vibration. It's a quick way to get them in and out, but if you've got 6 of them in there, I've got to believe not having them more secure will make some noise.
damn i can't decide whether I should choose this case or the haf922. i'm going to have the corsair h70 in it + on ekstra 120 mm fan? send me a pm with what u think of the two cases and btw on going to ordered the compter on the 11 of juli
Thank you very much for this review. The one thing I'd like to know is if the LED light on off switch only supports the stock fans or can I add more fans to it?
In other words if I want to add more LED fans can I somehow attach them to the switch and have it also turn the lights on those fans off without turning off the fan.
Love this case, 2 questions, does the side panels come with dust filters, and if fans are installed on the side panels, would it block a large Heat sink like a Noctua NH-D14 Dual.
cooler-master sucks they can't even spell, on their website they spelled power supply poswer supply. My PSU broke within a year its now making rattling sounds.
@lotussheath I just bought a thermaltake PSU I hear bad things about corsair RAM and their PSU's cost too much, Im not paying $170 for a 650W PSU I got a 700W for $100.
@REPOMAN24722 well you pay for the quality, at the end of the day if one of your parts break in the pc then oh well its a shame that one part broke but if your psu breaks it can destroy most of the pc in the worst case, you really should do some research on psus since some can be really dodgy and some can be extremely loud if you go any where near their max. Im looking at the xfx pro 650 or 750 which is about £60-£75 so about $90-$113 usd and its very good
Can someone give me trier opinion what case is better a cooler master 690 2 advanced or a

I'm curious about the PSU mounting options... my present set up has its PSU fan pointed down at the grates (it's an old centurion case from 2008), over the years this arrangement has kept my system cool but it's also sucked up a great deal of animal hair from my cat. The fan in the PSU has begun to make noise. I see multiple screw holes on this case where the PSU slot is, and I wonder if it would allow a "fan facing up" arrangement.

this is a good solid case. cant beat the price, got mine for 69.99 + free shipping.
this would be the perfect case if:
1. they would relocate the top power buttons to the top 5.25" drive bay, facing front.
2. extend the top mesh cover all the way to the front, get rid of the hot swap.
3. redesign the hard drive bays so the center section comes out.
I took out all the wiring to the top panel connections due to static problems.
my mobo came with a usb 3.0 front panel connector.

i would be interested to know if it would fit H100 cooler with push/pull setup? is it enough space at the top? I dont want to take the radiator out of the case to have push/pull. Owerall nice review.
BaronaSSS 5 months ago 20
@BaronaSSS it will support H100 on push pull config.
sani12care88 4 months ago
@BaronaSSS Problem is tha even Noctua 14 is too high. so I had to use lower NOCTUA NH-U12P . Even with lower 12P-15,8cm version You can forget of mounting big left side cooler too.
PolishFactor 4 months ago
@BaronaSSS
I have this case watercooled with a XSPC RS240 radiator on top and a RX240 (thick radiator) on the bottom. So yes, it will definitely fit the H100.

@BaronaSSS Yes.

VZ7inHD 5 months ago
@VZ7inHD Definatly. I have a GTX 560 ti in the same case. looks like a beast, the longest graphics card it can hold is around 11 inches, plenty of space.

@HardwareCanucks
My GPU temp. is about 30C lower :)
ManInteractive 6 months ago
the review somehow missed the most idiotic thing i have seen in a case design. for the power supply, they put the filter INSIDE under the psu. all the other filters are OUTSIDE. this means to clean the psu filter you have to open the pc, REMOVE the psu, clean the filter, then reinstall everything. W!T!F! they turn a 20 second process into a BIG Pain in the BUTT.
scotacus 6 months ago
@scotacus

Hotobu 6 months ago
@Hotobu Won't be an issue in this case, they're stuck as if they're screwed in.

REPOMAN24722 7 months ago
@REPOMAN24722 well you bought a psu from a make thats known for its cases.... if you wanted a good psu go ocx or corsair
lotussheath 7 months ago
@lotussheath I just bought a thermaltake PSU I hear bad things about corsair RAM and their PSU's cost too much, Im not paying $170 for a 650W PSU I got a 700W for $100.
REPOMAN24722 7 months ago
@REPOMAN24722 well you pay for the quality, at the end of the day if one of your parts break in the pc then oh well its a shame that one part broke but if your psu breaks it can destroy most of the pc in the worst case, you really should do some research on psus since some can be really dodgy and some can be extremely loud if you go any where near their max. Im looking at the xfx pro 650 or 750 which is about £60-£75 so about $90-$113 usd and its very good
