Such failure. Nuclear power plants CANNOT blow up like a nuke. It is physically impossible for it to do so, its hard enough trying to make a nuke go off, accidentally exploding a nuclear power plant? Impossible. Chernobyl was a steam explosion that blew apart the reactor casing and allowed the radioactive particles to ride the smoke up and spread.

As much as I like Sim City, real nuclear power plants cannot explode like atom bombs, they do not spread fallout fast-enough that the city cannot be evacuated, and radioactive fallout does not create a race of mutants. Might make for an entertaining B-movie though.

I dislike nuclear reactors in games... they can't blow up and regulations are in place so they don't burn down... do people really think they build a bomb and then stick some wires on it or something? Current reactors use the same power generating concept as a Coal plant, just cleaner emissions. I hear of more people dying in every other type of power plant than nuclear and I've been hearing of a lot of them since I've joined the Naval Nuclear Power program.

Reactor 4 ended up actually melting down...the core became super heated when the cooling rods were completely removed, and when reinserted caused the explosion that was the ultimate demise for Chernobyl and Prypiot...Because there was no Sarcophagus the radioactive dust spread quickly through the area causing acute radiation poisoning to many people...
