Strange, I just got the Asus K53SV-A1 and I got to say - I don't see much difference. Maybe it's Your video.

Mine is: i5 2410m, 6GB, 1GB GT540M and I seem to record this game at the same rate with everything maxed out.

I saw the site for Alienware X17 Laptop and got one word for it: savage!

That PC got some impressive configs, but when I looked at the price - I thought "crazy", even though I could easily buy it.

@g00dl00kinb0i it could possibly be the resolution (theres a big diff between 1080 and 720) if you got a lower resolution screen - but this isn't really what you would call a benchmarking game- i run this at 1080p 8x aa full everything at 40-50 fps on my m17x (runs at 720p same specs in 3d, which is awesome btw, you should try it out) or it could be the turbo boost function - seeing that the processor only provides power when really needed (eg crysis warhead which i run at 30fps at 900p)

@warhawksxaid @warhawksxaid I'll be getting similar fps @ 720p, now that I've finally figured out how to update drivers on dual gpu laptop - which was fckin hell btw. I can't really try 3D cause I don't have a HDTV and my Asus don't have enough resolution, well maybe soon :)

What I was trying to tell You was the fact that the software like Movie Maker let's You save video from Fraps in 1080p which is Your native resolution......... check my 720p conversion to 1080p

But if I was in to playing games I would definitely buy a PC like that, since the one I did buy is nice, but will be history in a year or so :)

My Core i5 gets 45-50 FPS without Fraps, when I record I have 27-31 FPS. Considering that the game has graphics that are better than any PS3 or XBOX360 and Fraps uses way too much resources than it should my FPS is great.

Now, I figure his Core i7 pulls some 5-10 FPS more recording or not, so I wouldn't be the one to say thay his Alienware is slow............

WOW, the sound quality is beyond what i would have expected, you can hear every rev and the turbo whining away at those high RPM's and even the sound of gravel! The graphics is just as awesome, the reflection are awesome, the brake animation, steering and its physical effects on the car, sure it must all be programmed into the game, but having a portable 'machine' to be able to handle all of that is awesome! Are u really using only a core duo???

Any down sides to the m17X, maintenance and such?

@achekyule Yeah I am using a 2.8 dual core. As for downsides I really don't have any except it is a heavy laptop but I don't care because it packs a lot of power. It stays really cool even while playing games. I have never even considered a cooling station. It doesn't need one. It is easy to clean dust out. Plus with the glass layer over the screen it makes the screen easier to clean.

@doctorstruts 12gb of ram is nuts lol. I didn't even know they came out with one that is 3d. That is awesome. My m17x is getting out dated lol. You will have no problems running any games that come out. Enjoy that amazing machine. Mine is amazing still but yours triples the ram of mine lol. I got 4gb or ddr3 RAM. You have nothing to worry about that and it will last you for a very long time.
