@BillKiernan To paraphrase Socrates' dialogue with Meno, Mr. Ears and
Mr. Brain must work together--listen more closely to the interview and think more deeply about the contexts of my statements--I was under attack by a literalist bully. I was being sarcastic when I mentioned the Gita. Even if I hadn't been, is it really that easy with you for a thinker to lose ALL their credibility? Were you perhaps only grudgingly acknowledging the thinker's credibility in the first place?
The disputation over the existence of a nonentity is contrary to all reason. The dispute ends when the proposition arguing on behalf of the existence of the nonentity cannot physically prove that the nonentity is in existence
@juanny21 HUH?? Man, your proposition begs the question, atheisitically so. A disputation occurs over an open question. You don't begin with a conclusion or assumption when arguing a proposition, so the parties concerned are trying to support their opposing claims. You assume the answer already (non entity) just as a theist would, but at least Pastor Cook was willing to argue. An agnostic does not assume the non existence of God anymore than he or she assumes the existence of same.
the ONLY philosophical avenue to take with a devout christian is epistemology. Anything else is pointless. They suppose absolute certainty about the world, which of course they do not have. Their sense of certainty has to be demonstrated as false.
@mcduffiesteven Why thank you. Statism freed Europe from the scourge of feudalism, tribalism, and monarchy. Esteven? Chicano? The State is the only thing guaranteeing that Anglo mobs don't descend on yours and my homes and drag us into the streets to disembowel and lynch us after castrating us with pliers (as has happened to Black people in Rosewood and in Tulsa and in Birmingham, etc., etc.) I myself support a sort of 'mixed Anarchism', not literal statism, but thanks for the complement anyway.

I'm a Buddhist. As a Buddhist, my belief is pretty much the same as Rayfield Waller.

I like what Rayfield has to say here, but he is a terrible statist, politically.
