No, the bill that passed does not set up a "Public Option" or any kind of free, taxpayer funded healthcare system.

No amount of "encouragement" is gonna get people to buy health insurence if they don't think they need it.

No, the bill that passed does not set up a "Public Option" or any kind of free, taxpayer funded healthcare system.
It sets up a requirement on every American to purchase a Government approved healthcare insurance plan and the fucking IRS will be in charge of enforcing that.
Now, for people who "can't afford it", the Government will subsidize insurance. However, they do that already.
The only major change is that the Federal Government is demanding Americans purchase a product.

I waited 3 weeks for an eye and knee surgery. You know in Canada, we have private health insurance because the Canadian healthcare does not cover prescription, eye exams and dental and extended care for injuries. The private health insurance industry in Canada is a big business and 70% Canadian have private health insurance. So, think about, the Canadian healthcare did not kill private insurance and we have American insurance companies all over Canada

Suprisingly the Conservative did not prevaricate for long and was clearly also looking for a practical way forward on the Bill. However, in this case, the Bill has yet to pass and as you say there is no reason to cater to the minority in Congress because they don't have the power to block it; Logic would dictate that it is Democrats that are holding up passing the bill.

President Obama, says he is going to cut the Pentagons budget by 15% to pay for education, health care and job training. Which is it? It can't be both. You ignorant shit. Refuted my points with facts? We have "the best" health care in the world. And don't even come back at me with "Well the world health org" anything. If the W.H.O. was a legitimate, fact based orginazation it would not use war deaths in its stats. It would use culture in its statistics. As for new ideas, the right has presented multiple plans that have not even been allowed in committee hearings. Last week the dems by party line voted down over 200 ammendments to HR 3200 by repub. Refute this.

Our healthcare system spends 17% versus 10% of GDP for European nations. We have 40 million uninsured, and all of our measurable statistics are worse, thats not a WHO conspiracy its acknowledged by everyone. If you are wealthy its the best. If you are middle class and lose your job and get sick you're DONE.
As for the ideas - fine the right has ideas now - but what about the last 8 years when the right had the presidency and Congress?

He didnt complain about Obama being questioned.
he was complaining about the hypocracy of the right not questioning their republican leadership when they are in power, and only seeming to care when the dems are in power.
He also did let Phillips have the last word where he mentioned he feels good about changing players in the repub party, and matthews also let him mention specific repubs alternative health bills.
Phillips also agreed with matthews that theres too much repub hypocracy.

Chris did not let tim say what all he wanted. the interview was 9 min long. do u really think thats enough time for tim to say what all he needs and support it??? i think not. and not all of em are shouting and yelling, most are quite civil. the violent ones are the only ones that make the news. and yes, the republicans in the past havnt reformed health care when they should have. thats a mistake on our part that we can fix in the future.

I stopped watching Chris Matthews a long time ago, about the time he had that "tingly feeling coming up his leg" during an Obama campaign speech! I use this as an example of his rudeness and unprofessionalism. I used to like him.
