  • billy boy you will get your just rewards you hypocrite.

  • @bpijne No he will not...

  • We must pray for this guy and his hatred. He hates not only the Church, but ALL that is good in this world. Peace.

  • @SteveD042661 All that is good? Are you fucking retarded?

  • @dabomb1357 yes he is

  • The catholic church is hilarious! I think they are one of the most "mainstream (lol) religions that I find really really hard to take seriously, people just got to realize that sometimes life is too good for religion, that people don't really need it, it's more of a want for the simple brained humans, I mean let's face it, You can't spell Capitalism without........Gene Simmons hahahaha.

  • You fucking JEW and your Jewish USA. look who is talking.

  • @TheLaw055 Bill Maher's father was Catholic and he was raised as a Catholic.

  • @CapstickBud Then why such attacks full of HATE ???????????

  • @TheLaw055 Because they have been accused of covering up and protecting pedophiles.

  • Catholocism: anal rape ftw!!

  • Simply untrue.

  • When is Maher going to bring up the crimes of Israel, which he clearly said he supports?

  • mr. Maher is not really a very intelligent man and its obvious that he has an agenda which would make him look like a biggot.....When one makes cheap skate jibes against something that has influenced western civilization for the better over the last 2 thousand years its entitled to a balanced hearing and not one fools smart comments.....Its people who have messed up and not necessarily catholicism...

  • Religion, when are you going to start making sense?

  • Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.

  • @mryajirobe I agree.

  • Here is how a "good ROMAN catholic" acts.

He, or she, alone or with RC friends, tries their best to kill someone. And after they think they've succeeded have reason to believe they've been caught in the act.

Here comes the big tears. "We're so sooorrry!" We're so terribly sooorrry. Can you ever forgive us? We wish we would have never done it! If we could only bring them back..."Uh, uh, wait a minute..they're still alive!! Give us a minute to finish the job, then we'll be

    RE-SORRY

  • This man bill maher's

is not funny! he sould look at him self! befor he throws the frist stone.

  • @armando1955ify wow, a swipe at his appearance. Clearly your an idiot.

  • He kind of really makes you think about his final analogy at the end. Very true.

  • As soon as I saw that the title had “Catholicism” in it, I knew that it's going to be about child molestation.

  • Support your local pedophile.

    Attend a Catholic church.

  • @SeedsOfHatred While that priest or monsignor is somewhat humbled, he tries to act in a charitable manner. He relies on a good song and dance at mass to get as many dollars in the collection plate as possible.]

He even acts like he may be held accountable for power mongering, and abuse.

But, make him and the church rich, and he will start growing long, sharp, fangs right before your eyes. His eyes will start to grow evil, and the blood of those who should be subjugated flows..

  • The catholic church is disgusting.

  • @TheSultan03 Religion is disgusting.

  • MAHER YOU ARE PIECE OF SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT BITTCHHHHH

  • @guisAche01 lol good job on pointing out flaws within his logic instead of ranting....

  • JUST TO GET THIS STRAIGHT & HONEST-"atc5656"-HAS USED MY USER NAME

I AM A ROMAN CATHOLIC AND I KNOW FOR A FACT- IT IS THE ONE TRUE CHURCH

IF YOU WANT APOLOGETICS CONSULT ANY RC CATHOLIC PRIEST WHO HAS GONE TO SEMINARY SCHOOL FOR 8 YEARS & STUDIED THEOLOGY,PHILOSOPHY,SCRIPTURES,DOCUMENTS & HERITAGE OF ROMAN CATHOLICISM TO PROVE TO ANYONE THE HISTORICITY OF THE CHURCH FOUNDED BY CHRIST. ATTACKS ON THE RC CHURCH

ARE GIVEN BY SADLY MISUNDERSTOOD INDIVIDUALS WHO OBVIOUSLY DO NOT KNOW OUR FAITH>

  • @winter1936 Yes!

  • @winter1936 IT'S NOT A CHURCH...IT'S AN EMPIRE!

Read the history of the actions taken by the INFALLIBLE leaders!

    ACTIONS OF AN EMPIRE!

  • @winter1936 Ya you just keep your head in the sand....Asshole.

  • @winter1936 It's also obvious that you do not know how to un-lock caps-lock.

  • @winter1936 If you are right then why do you need to use caps lock?

  • Laugh your way to Hell.

  • @winter1936 no such place. theres zero proof, and there never willl be

  • @winter1936 Why follow the bible when its only relevant to people who were force-fed that shit when they were impressionable kids? the bible didnt matter to the millions of people who were around before it was ever created, and it doesnt matter to me. heres some research-the catholic church is a political machine that used to tell people that if they paid the church, god would free them from their sins. imagine paying this kid-fucking organization to tell you that

  • What a piece of crap.

  • @hooper496 u mad

  • Is Bill Maher supposed to be funny? Because I didn't laugh or even crack a smile. This is disgusting. Oh yeah. BTW: The Pope nor any member of his immediate family joined the NSDAP (Nazi Party). His father was critical of the Nazi government, and as a result the family had to move four times before he was ten years old.

  • @TheAaronMcCormick

lol he protected priests that molested boys. FUCK THE POPE

  • PIECE OF SHITT PIZZA

  • It's the same old story. Tons of brainwash and glitz buy power and wealth for a few crooks. And these crooks act like ruptured ducks every time they get caught red handed... say raping a few altar boys, or backing a few right wing genocidal dictators..

How does this happen? There are too many sellouts that don't demand mutual accountability from the big shots in dresses (just being cute to make a point) At the hour of your death are you going to tell God.I just looked the other way! SORRY!

  • What a fucking lier. This guy's ignorance is a serious crime against the human race.

  • @GiuseppeCunha as oppose to the crime of molesting hundreds of kids and hiding it to save face?

  • I can prove God exists. Read on: God Exists! There it is in black and white. Don't you believe your eyes? Now that you know the truth, send 20 dollars to You are a moron, You moron you! It won't save you from Hell, but I will send you some cocoa butter for the burns.

  • What would Christ say about this joker. He is really not and never funny. He tries to be funny while cutting other people down but we say nothing! He needs to be removed from the television. Bill, I will pray for you but it's not up to me, it's really up to Christ! The word made flesh. Not funny.

  • Volume Volume Volume.....LOL

  • Good "roman" catholics after they beg forgiveness for being bags of shit... They ask this MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION.... Uh, uh, can you give us MONEY????

  • How to identify a "GOOD" ROMAN CATHOLIC.

Attacks you as a member of a group behind your back. He, or she, then tells themselves and the other members of their group how "holy, holy, holy" they are. Then they attack you again.

When they suspect that you have nowhere to turn, they will get brave and attack you in the open. If they get caught.... out come the back braces, the crutches, the fake wheelchairs. And they begin to cry big tears.

Forgive us, we are victims of the devil. GIVE US

  • 1. weather had nothing to do with him being born in december 2. Wikipedia is not a good source of information.3. were do you have evidence that your church was the one christ wanted?

  • The Roman Catholic Church teaches unbiblical doctorines and celebrates Pagan holidays like Christmas and Easter Also pray to Saints and Mary which is completely unbiblical.

  • @Mcstroke57 you are a complete ignorant dumbass did ever go to a catholic mass or research info on the church that wasn't from your pastor's rantings? as a matter of fact the catholic church existed way before any protestant, evangelical , or orthodox churches. and as for Christmas and easter being pagan there is no real evidence that that is true the other denominations got every thing from the church from going to church on sunday to the bible yes we complied it not martin luther .

  • @thebigleowbosiki I am not Protestant and so what if you "compiled" the scriptures ??

You can simply find even on wikipedia about Christmas and Easter being pagan.

Also, Christmas is not Jesus' birth

Luke 2:8-14 tells us shepherds were in the fields with their flocks, Jesus' birth could not have occurred during the cold-weather months of winter. Sheep were normally brought into centrally located pens or corrals as the weather turned colder and the rainy season began, especially at night.

  • Religion: because thinking is hard!

  • @MoralRapist Agnosticism/atheism: Because it's currently in style, is an easy copout from REAL thinking, and means I can make up my own morality!

  • @Snackbar47 *facepalm*

no, seccular morality is SUPERIOR to religious morality. here is a link to an atheist wiki i edit occasionally that has an article that completely RAPES your argument. look up some shit on here before you open your mouth again please.

    ironchariots(dot)org/index.php?title=Secular_morality

  • Bill Maher speaks the truth though in a blatant, no-holds barred way which has caused some catholics to lose their sleep.

  • @opsvideo2008 "Maher causes Catholics to lose their sleep"??? Maybe only ignorant Catholics. Any Catholic with a bit of intelligence should be able to see how idiotic Maher's constant straw-men arguments are. Search "Father Barron Religulous" to see one example of why Maher doesn't really scare any well-formed Catholics.

  • @Snackbar47 Now, you can't deny that Bill Maher is speaking the truth when it comes to the worldwide paedophilia committed by catholic priests, can you? Looking at how catholics blindly come to the defence of the catholic church is an indication of how desperate they are to sweep everything under the carpet. That is only if the sexually abused victims are not their own children.

  • "Bill Maher is an idiot. Therefore every person on tv is an idiot." That's the kind of illogical, generalizing nonsense he sputters about religion (ESPECIALLY Catholicism) all the time. Find a few hundred flawed men in a church of over 1 BILLION and then throw around straw-men arguments and overarching judgmentalism until you run out of jokes. Maher's clapping disciples/believers/followers are just as loony and close-minded as he is.

  • @Snackbar47 Only problem is he's right on this. Religion is a mess.

  • @DannnnnDannnnnn And atheism isn't?? You obviously haven't seen statistics for the number of dead bodies produced by atheistic dictators. Ever heard of Mussolini, Pol Pot, Mao Zedong, or Joseph Stalin...??

  • @Snackbar47 Ever heard of the crusades...Or how many Muslims are slaughtered. Or how many kids are raped by priests. Or the Horrible things Christianity has done over the years. If this world had no religion it would be a far greater place with less war and further advancements in science.

  • @DannnnnDannnnnn I can tell you haven't studied any Christian history yourself. All you're doing is laying out the same old arguments that every low-level atheist has said before. Do you even know WHY the crusades happened? Do you know how many CHRISTIANS were slaughtered by Muslims because of them? And you obviously don't know where hospitals, universities, and the scientific method came from... (I'll give you a hint - It wasn't Muslims, Buddhists, atheists, or agnostics).

  • @Snackbar47 Oh and what about the dead body list from America? Probably the worst out of the lot.

  • @DannnnnDannnnnn Maybe not THE worst, but certainly not good. I'd agree with you on that. The war in Iraq is one example. The death penalty is another. And certainly abortion is the most striking one - over 45 MILLION killed since 1973.

  • There are only three things that you need to know about roman catholicism.

    1. The institution known as roman catholicism always acts in bad faith.

    2. It always has.

    3. It always will.

Whenever they get caught red handed they try to lie about it and blame their victim first. If that doesn't work they then put on a fake limp and claim to be "picked on". After they are forgiven they knife you worse.

  • @dirtbagcatholics As goes for Christianity, in general.

  • @dirtbagcatholics we catholics dont deny the occurences of molestation. Some are good fish & some are bad fish. But it would be unreasonable to generalize & conclude that the universal faith acts in bad faith.

  • @jr400rl Since your "god" doesn't exist, he can't protect the kids from demented religious nutz.

  • @jr400rl The roman catholic church has become so cancerous and diseased because of the cunning of a minority, and the cowardice of the majority.

97% of catholics believe that the roman catholic church exists and is allowed to exist in correlation with it's giving honor and servitude to God. They are devout and powerless, because they don't demand accountability of those who own and control the church.

3% believe that God Exists to give honor and glory to the roman catholic church.

  • @dirtbagcatholics 'those who own and control the church.' - No single person or a few group of people own or control the church. The church is the body of Christ. This comment only proves that you don't know a thing about the catholic faith. Yes, there are sinners in the church. After all, the church was established by God for us, sinners, that we become healed by His mercy and grace thru the church. By the way, please don't forget all the saints that the church has produced.

  • @einnaecarg It's funny how the body of Christ likes to collect art and cash.

  • @acr08807 Jesus is the Son of God. And the Virgin Mary is His Mother. She didn't even need to face a mortal death like all of the rest of us.

But, The Roman Catholic EMPIRE tells us that they both need our money! They both need a lot of our money! And the Virgin Mary (according to Pope Pius XII) demanded that the USA should prosecute atomic war against Russia because She wanted it back!

Oh, and the roman catholic empire will be in charge of any money we give to Jesus, and Mary!!

  • @einnaecarg It's funny how my comment just "proves that I know nothing about the catholic faith" And you, on the other hand are the voice of reason.

When one mentions the equal importance of all humans because they are made in God's Image. Or to Know God, love God , and serve God... all the pius catholic big shots and sheep alike(with big fanfare) agree. But, when the aims and goals of the big social club in Jesus' Name come into conflict.... It's passive-agressive Christianity.

  • @einnaecarg By the way, please don't forget all the saints that the church has produced.

Flying in the face of years and years of the church being caught in patholigical lying! And the pattern of their claims of persecution every time they are called to task! You continue to walk in the groove of THE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND! >>>FAILURE TO DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY AND MUTUAL CONSIDERATION IS WHAT HAS FERTILIZED THE FIELDS OF ROMAN CATHOLIC EVIL! AN EVIL BROUGHT BY A MINORITY CULT!

  • Maher's brilliant, funny and often true. Where he fails is not to recognize that among the "billion" there is much more good than evil, the abusers are still a minority (even though just 1 is too many) and the Pope is more than his funky clothes and Hitler youth childhood. The right is howling disapproval of the economic document issued by the Vatican. Not all is bad or good about the Catholic Church or Bill Maher. Simplistic responses lead to hatred on both sides. Look below the surface!!

  • Bill's a legend!!!! Respect, from Scotland!!

  • Why do people listen to the pope anyway? He's an old piece of shit who does NOTHING. As a personal rule, I don't listen to anyone over the age of 50.

  • @corycashatt90 Brilliant.

  • @corycashatt90 For starters, you make absolutely no sense. You're suggesting that the age of 50 is some kind of magical cut off for people who are wise and those who aren't. How ridiculous. And hey, guess what - YOU are going to be over 50 some day. Guess we outta not listen to you (and you better not listen to yourself!). Also, it's pretty obvious that you've never read a thing Pope Benedict has written. The guy is brilliant. Knows 8 languages. And obviously isn't as judgmental as you are.

  • Bill Maher kicks ass. :D

  • The Roman Catholic Church teaches unbiblical doctorines like the Age of Accountability and celebrates Pagan holidays Like Christmas and Easter Also pray to Saints and Mary which is completely unbiblical.

  • agreed, he's intelligent, what he lacks is wisdom, and the discipline, objectivity and self-control to sincerely study the other side...he believes what he wants to believe and don't bother him with facts!

plus he needs some humility to acknowledge , one,he's not God, and second, he doesn't know everything...and neither does science know everything...

  • @enrieangeles Tell me you're kidding. That description is NOT Bill Maher, quite the opposite. He's open minded, is knowledgable about things he comments on, and he definitely doesn't think he knows everything. You're probably just annoyed at his honesty and bluntness.

  • @enrieangeles You should watch Religulous. You'll find that Bill probably knows a lot more than you about religion.

And part of the beauty of science is that scientists are ok with no knowing everything...learning new things is what science is for!

  • @Gafaton : Bill Maher knows nothing about religion because all he's hear and studies are the anti-religionists. He hasn't studied the other side. It's like the Communists condemning capitalism or Islamists condemning Christianity. Bill Maher is a secularist condemining Christianity which he knows next to nothing about. All he knows is the caricature not the reality.

  • @Gafaton : GAFATON why don;t you go to you tube and look up BOB BARRON'S COMMENTS ON BILL MAHER"S RELIGULOUS and see how a Catholic priest tears apart Religulous. Bill Maher is only good in setting up strawmen for him to demolish. As Bishop Fulton Sheen used to say that there are not many who hate the Catholic Church but there are millions who hate what they think the Catholic Church teaches.

  • @Gafaton Anyone with a pea-sized amount of knowledge of Christianity could respond to Maher's questions in Religulous. All he did was go after idiotic fundamentalist Christians (and one semi-wacky Catholic priest) and pose straw men arguments to them. Look up "Father Barron Religulous" to get an actually INTELLIGENT view of Christianity (specifically, Catholicism).

  • Bill Maher has a defective father image. Let's pray for him. He's not irredeemable.

  • @enrieangeles The way he's going right now, I hope he does not get redeemed... he is intelligent, incisive, observant, and unflinchingly honest. Personally, I'm going to hope that nobody takes that away from him.

  • @OisirM and the mistake is thinking that "redeemed" means taking away those qualities.

  • @enrieangeles You can pray all you want dumb fuck nobody is going to hear it.

  • (continued). Ratz's predecessor, JP2, wisely embraced science, evolution, and admitted Galileo was right (finally). Ratz seems to be backpedaling on some of that (he made some comment in favor of ID I think). I can't imagine him admitting Galileo was right if his predecessor had not already done so. I think the College Cardinals really blew it this time. Ratz is a very, very pale shadow of JP2.

  • @DandAinTac That's ridiculous. Pope Benedict has picked up precisely where Blessed John Paul II left off. Have you read Benedict's works?? There's nothing about it that would contradict JP2 or anything from the Catechism. His work is just as brilliant (and embracing of science) as John Paul's. Stop reading the mass media's analysis of Pope Benedict and read his works for yourself and you'll know what I mean.

  • @Snackbar47 I'll admit that I have not read Ratzinger. I'm basing my statement on Cardinal Schonborn's statements which appear to support Intelligent Design. The Cardinal is said to be a close associate of Ratzinger's.

  • He is not even remotely funny. There is a button his staff pushes that says "laugh sounds" each time he makes a comment. Yawwwwwwnnnn.... what a bore.

  • My Lord. Forgive them. They dont know what they are doing! Make them understand your love. my Lord you said, love your enemy, pray for those who hate you & persecute you...Lastly you said Love one another as I have loved you. Jesus, I pray for understanding.

  • @Owneador1337 Youll understand in the end brother. The catholic chuch teaches the truth with the matters of faith & morals & this is for our own good..for us to have a better life on earth...for us to be able to love & forgive those who have wronged us. Christ is the measure of true humanism & he teaches us how to be human in real sense. Christ is the truth & love in person. He is the only hope we have, he is everything, w/o him there is no foundation. Apart from him nothing anymore can be good.

  • @jr400rl What you consider a Godly-implanted moral set is really just the natural human set of morals. There ARE objective morals, like justice, for instance. There isn't a single society that doesn't contemplate justice as a virtue, regardless of the God they believe in. Same for being trustworthy, caring or generous. They are all objective morals and virtues. You don't need a God to profess them, so give up on the cult.

  • @Owneador1337 So where do these immaterial, objective truths come from?? You can't get something immaterial and objective from atheistic evolution. The survival of the fittest certainly doesn't uphold trustworthiness, caring, or generosity (as you suggested) at ALL. Where's your evidence that these can exist apart from a Creator?

  • @Snackbar47 Being the FITTEST doesn't mean being the STRONGEST. Get the context right. It doesn't mean being athletic and strong and dominant. It means being the most well adapted to an enviroment.

Take a look at the people who triumph in society. See which people around you are the ones putting society together: Generous people who are just and who give a good example to others.

    You don't respect people for being big/strong. You're not a gorilla. Big/strong humans aren't FIT evolution-wise.

  • @Snackbar47 Just in case you didn't understand my response: FIT in human beings equals being more sociable, and that generates certain natural values. You like to be treated well, so you treat others well because if not you know you'll be treated wrong in return.

Justice is an universal moral value because it's absolutely basic in this. If you have been hurt by someone, you expect some kind of compensation. That's natural. It's not imposed by a God, and certainly not by a 6000 year old God.

  • @Owneador1337 For starters, I think you need to go and turn on the Discovery Channel for a bit because, according to your thinking, I am guessing you would say that humans are nothing more than mammals anyway, and that the only thing that separates us from apes is that we're just a little bit smarter. Anyway, if you watch the animal kingdom you would pretty quickly note that love and justice and generosity are not the norms (Think: lions murdering wildebeest, spiders eating their young, etc.)

  • @Owneador1337 Furthermore, the fact that you even suggested the idea of a "6,000 year old God" shows just how ignorant you are of what Christians define God to actually be. And you also show your ignorance of Christian belief in generally, because only nutty science-scared fundamentalist Christians believe the world has only been around for 6,000-some years.

  • @Snackbar47 So just WHO are you to say WHICH parts of the Bible are true? What authority have you to claim the falsehood of Adam and Eve but accept Jesus' resurrection, when they're both unprovable and faith-based?

I love how you accept the parts of the teachings that are more convenient to you (ie. living forever) and deny those which aren't convenient or sound "too fictional" (selling your belongings and giving your money to the poor, or a tale of someone putting tons of animals into a ship).

  • @Owneador1337 It doesn't take a P.H.D. to know that there were numerous authors of the Bible and that some books and passages were meant to be read literally and others metaphorically. Do a Google search for "Should we read the Bible literally or symbolically? Catholic Answers" to get a fuller answer. Unfortunately, it won't all fit in a comment box.

  • @Snackbar47 I've read the Bible: as a kid once, and this summer a second time (I'm 23). Obviously, you can shield under the "metaphorical meaning" of it, but if most of it isn't meant to be taken literally, why should "going to Heaven" be taken literally?

I mean, it's no like it couldn't be a metaphor for living in a better world. "Be kind to others and love them and be loved in return and you shall ascend into the kingdom of Heaven". What if he meant making the World "as good as Heaven"?

  • @Snackbar47 [cont] And by the way, I may indeed be simple or close minded, but I fail to see what symbolism or special interpretation can be made out of the story of 8 people putting pairs of millions of animals from different species in a boat the size of a school bus. I hope you can help me with that issue.

... Or are there parts in The Bible that are just bogus and carry no meaning within them?

  • @Owneador1337 In all charity I would suggest watching the following videos to hear a respectable, intelligent, and accurate account of what Catholics actually believe: Search "Father Barron The New Atheists" for one, "Father Barron Religulous" for another, and "Father Barron Against the YouTube Heresies" for another. He hits upon a lot of the idiotic banter and confusion that's taken place because of misconceptions from both atheists and fundamentalist Christians.

  • @Owneador1337 Well my friend, there must be someone who placed that norms in nature w/c is rooted in the creative reason from a primover & it just so happen that we fully known that primover when the one who is form the beginning become one of us inorder that he maybe made tanglible to our nature. contemplating honestly, even if ill be given a 1 trillion doller budject, I cant even create something from nothing not even a piece of atom.

  • @jr400rl So... Who created God?

    Next, please.

  • @Owneador1337 Honestly..I dont know who created someone who is Himself is the Creator. If I know who created God then he would no longer be God...then I will become god...because I know who created whom we call God. God exists because he exists.

  • @jr400rl The universe exists because it exists. Why put a God there? You don't need him to explain things. Most aspects of our origins have already been explained by science, and PROVEN. You have the answers you seek already, and this time they're true, at least. The only question that remains unanswered is "What created the Universe?"; but if you put a God there, then what created God? It makes the problem MORE complex, even, by introducing stuff that doesn't comply with the laws of physics.

  • @Owneador1337 But in itself it cannot exist without a being who primordially existed. Im not placing a God, conversely it is a respone of my reasoning as a rational limited living entity. There are things that we cant explain, thats why we have faith. Only something infinite can suffice man & physics in itself is grounded in something empirical, so physics then can only assume answers but does not completely answers everything. Like why is there anything rather than nothing?

  • @jr400rl The answer is "there just is". But we can SEE what "is". We can't see God, or touch him, or hear him, or whatever (not if we're sane, at least).

First of all, rather than attacking a straw man, I'd like to know where you stand here. Do you believe 100% in the Bible? Or do you only believe in the core (see: Jesus, Heaven, metaphores instead of facts, etc)?

And for you: I'm a complete atheist. I deny the existance of the supernatural (from ANY religion).

  • @Owneador1337 The arrogance that would make God an object & impose our laboratory conditions upon him is incapable of finding him. For it already implies that we deny God as God by placing ourselves above him, by discarding the whole dimension of love, of interior listening; by no longer acknowledging as real anything but we can experimentally test & grasp. To think like that is to make oneself God. And to do that is to abase not only God, but the world & oneself too.

  • @jr400rl You didn't answer my question. I said: Are you a complete Christian or do you only believe in the core facts from The Bible?

Also, saying that "people who follow science and empiricism can't see God" is just playing a joker card. That's shielding yourself with an argument that no one can break up because "you're the only one who understands it". You can't say "I'm right, but you can't understand why unless you think it's correct, in which case you'd simply know it". That's fallacious.

  • @Owneador1337 Seems to be youre question is misleading bec you cannot separate the being in me being Christian & the Bible. Being me Catholic we consider not only the Written Scirpture but as well as the Churchs tradition handed overed to us by our beloved apostoles. Sorry man if you felt like that, its not my intention. The only thing I want to share to you is the truth. I say it is true because I also experience God in my everyday life, #1 indication is when we love & when we are loved.

  • @jr400rl I'm born catholic, have been baptized, but I'm an apostate. I've read the Bible twice in my time: One as a kid, and one recently (a few months ago).

It's okay if you want to believe in God and in eternal life to confort yourself, but don't try to shove the fact that our morals are Godly-delivered, because they're not. I don't believe in God, and I also try to be kind to others and regret my mistakes and misbehaviours. I don't feel God within me, but I have my morals, too.

  • @Owneador1337 I have one question for you man. Do you love your parents & siblings...do you love yourself in the way you love your fellowman?

  • @jr400rl I love my parents and siblings, yes. I love my close friends, too, and I love myself.

What? Do you think atheists don't love? Do you think nobody can love if they aren't catholic Christians with deep beliefs?

Nah, nevermind, ignore those questions. I have another one for you: Do you TRULLY love God? I mean, I was a believer when I was a child, but I didn't love God. I mean, how can I love something so abstract? Do you love God more than your parents, siblings or children? Tell me.

  • @Owneador1337, "Do you think nobody can love if they aren't catholic Christians with deep beliefs?"

I believe the opposite. Some of the meanest, rudest, harshest, most entrenched, totally unwilling to consider anyone else's viewpoint people that I've ever had the misfortune to encounter were Catholic priests and a woman who works for a so called Christian welcoming organization.

Out of all the religious people I know about, the nicest, most likable ones are the Shaolin monks.

  • @Owneador1337 You love....thats it. God is working on you. Nothing more we need to discuss. Nice talking man.

To be honest this is a very hard commandment..to love especially as you cited in the last sentence. & i have not truly loved God yet, 100% but we need to work on it everyday. I hope it wont be offensive but just respect me in as much i respect you man..merry christmas...happy holidays! See you in the middle of the world.

  • @jr400rl Fine, I won't disrespect you. You're fine as a Christian, just don't let it change the way you live too much. Don't let it forbit you from enjoying life (because hey, if you're finally right, I don't think there will be sex, or partying, or theme parks, or cool places to travel to in Heaven - so make the most out of your life here).

  • @Owneador1337 This guy tries this all the time with me too. He tries to sound like an intellectual, then says he has an "invisible friend". How the hell do you take someone serious when they think magic is real? He's been brainwashed by gay guys who can't deal with being gay, so they think giving their lives to "god" will help them. Ask him to prove his "god" exists, he won't answer the question. He will try baffling you with bullshit, but never any proof.

  • @jr400rl Who's 'them'?

  • @jr400rl Please reason and common sense please save this man before its to late. So that his life is not a waste.

  • @blackpai Too late!

  • Bill maher...win

  • He kills it around 30 secs in...

  • The Roman Catholic Church is Pagan

The Roman Catholic Church celebrates Pagan festivals like Christmas and Easter also teaches unbiblical doctorines like the Trinity and baptizes infants.

  • @Mcstroke57 Without christmas there would be no Jesus. deal with it!

  • @gleehmee Please do some research about Pagan origins of Christmas and ''The Christ mass''

  • @Mcstroke57 I am aware of the historical reasons behind why that day was chosen for the celebration. The point still stands, without the birth of christ, none of the other stuff would have happened.

  • @gleehmee

The bible tells us the the shepherds were tending to their flock at the time so it had to be around the time of the warmer months.

December 25 was picked by the Church. It was favorable as it occurred around the Winter Solstice, and thus made it easier to convert Pagans who were used to celebrating the Yule Festival to Christianity.

The bible never told us to celebrate his birth.

  • @Mcstroke57 yes. it is WELL KNOWN that the real birth of christ was not the 25th of december, so what? you act like you know something new. but what you sent me in private message was nothing but gibberrish and the actual origins, such as the yuletide and some more obscure germanic traditions, are well known and so even that little bit you're right about is nothing new.

  • @Mcstroke57 I dont care anymore if it is pagan. What I know & feel is that during this time I can feel the real meaning of love. His birth means hope, he came to this world to give us hope for us to live & to showed us the way to be human. In easter he died still because of love, that even to the point of death he has given himself for us..for him it is ok & he died for you man & Jesus will be willing to die for you all over again if he has to.

  • @jr400rl if you love Jesus... than please do not celebrate Christmas and other pagan holidays and pray to him to reveal to you the truth.

Jeremiah 10:2-3 2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

  • @Mcstroke57 Well I understand brother if we are to contemplate in that verse solely only w/o the knowledge of the history of the catholic(katholikos meaning universal)...the universal faith, then I believe in you man. But since I was introduced to the history of the church through its vississitudes, I have come to believe in the love that they preached...then hope sprang out in me. Even though xmas may not be exactly dec 25....its the thought that counts. we celebrate x-mas bec its Jesus' bday.

  • @jr400rl december 25 is not Jesus's birth Luke 2:8 "And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. " Jesus' birth could not have occurred during the cold-weather months of winter. Sheep were normally brought into centrally located pens or corrals as the weather turned colder and the rainy season began, especially at night.

Such things like the Mistletoe,Yule log and etc... have Pagan origins.

  • The Catholic Church is indeed not as bad as other, purer forms of mosaic totalitarian nihilism.

  • Maher is pretty much blabbing nonsense on molestation. It is a proven fact that Catholic priests are not one bit greater molesters than the members of any other corporation of adults that interact with kids (e.g. secular school teachers). The simple fact is that pedophiles are attracted to kids, so they are attracted to jobs where they will gain privileged access to some.

  • As for the later protecting of those priests that do commit acts of pedophilia, he should open up a book on the sociology of organisations and the such. Intense institutional cohesion and solidarity is the norm, in any successful organisation. Furthermore, the Church eventually turned completely against such clemency towards those found guilty of pedophilia, has asked for forgiveneness to the victims, etc.

  • @Mcstroke57 Okay o' wise one, then what is it that YOU believe in? Anyone can spout off the evidence-less things you just mentioned. It's easy to say, "No, that's all wrong" but it's not always easy to say "Here's what's true". So, please, tell all of us what it is that you believe in AND why.

  • i'm glad theres no catholics in sweden, they seem really weird...

  • @ratmrulesyou1 Yeah, but you got something far worse. Muslims, and all that Jazz...

  • @Krzysmalaki74 don't you? anyway muslims aren't that bad or different from other religions.

but they aren't allowed to eat BACON!

  • I do not accept Ratzinger's excuses for his membership in the Hitler Youth and his lack of resistance to the policies of the Nazis. It was clearly NOT "impossible" to resist--others did so courageously, sometimes at the cost of their lives. If there were a God, I would say that he tested the young Ratzinger, and Ratzinger failed the test. I would understand if he were anyone else, but not the supposed morally infallible pope. He is not fit for such a position.

  • @DandAinTac i dont his past when at the time he lacked resistance against the nazis. but what i know of him is that he is a man with a generous intellect. say for the sake of arument he failed..so what. now he doing something to bridge his gap have you ever tried heearing his speech in the german parliament when he went to germany? he was brilliant never i heard this kind of speech.

  • @jr400rl I'm sorry--but I just don't think Ratzinger cuts it. I think his failure with the Nazis is excusable if he were a mere bishop, even a cardinal, but I think the Cardinals could have come up with someone with a stronger character. Is this really the best they have?? And it's not just his Nazi past--his failure with the molestation cases is another problem. (continued)

  • If the world was all atheist, imagine how much greater and more advanced society would be. And that will never be achieved if we continue to let organized religion destroy everything and get away with it.

  • @shmoriy The Soviet Union was an atheist state and it was actually a paradise

  • @xaviqaz Soviet Union was a state religion where Stalin was made out to be a god.

  • @shmoriy Yes, like every atheist state, they needed to replace religion with ideology and cult of personality

  • @xaviqaz Hahahahahahaha. You obviously have no understanding of history. Ever hear of Stalin? Or the Gulags? Or the MILLIONS of people who died BECAUSE of Joseph Stalin (the atheist)??? I'm sure you'd really enjoy living in that "paradise"...

  • I know for a fact Al Qaeda is in Iraq. I was there. Not to mention we've killed Al Qaeda leaders in Iraq.

  • All in perspective.. a cult? Interesting analogies.

  • This filthy Degenerate ought to be ashamed of himself. He is becoming more and more offensive toward Christianity and decency in general. I believe he is half Jewish. That doesn't say much for Jews. Although, I am sure he does not represent decent Jewish people

  • TO ANYONE WHO CAN PROVE THEIR "GOD" EXISTS, PROVE YOUR GOD EXISTS. Bet you can't!

  • @glennheston he exists because why is there something rather than nothing. its that simple. man cannot create himself into existence. Even if i give 10^∞ dollars & make yourself out of nothing....I bet also that you cant brother.

  • @jr400rl That's not proof.

  • @jr400rl And I'm not your brother.

  • @glennheston Of course im not your biological brother glen in the strict sense of the word. Well, my faith taught me that every male human being my brother. Then again, God exists because there is something rather than nothing. Are you convinced now?

  • @jr400rl No. You can't convince me. You're so arrogant you believe your "god" exists, simply because you believe he exists. As if your belief in him caused him to exist. "God exists because there is something rather than nothing." You probably can't see how illogical that statement is. Most of all, you danced around the question just like all faith heads do. You can't prove your "god" exists. Not god, but your "god". Do you know how insulting it is when religious people call someone brother?
