  • not even mad minnute it is 30-40 round a minute he was too slow on the reload.

  • fucked if you're left handed,

  • @MrXclio yeah those nasty right-handers ...it's discrimination I tell you

  • The first weapon I trained on and used in anger. It was a splendid rifle.

  • What type of calculator did u film this with

  • It's A Long Way to Tipperary)

  • are you going to join prepper1776s mosin giveaway contest? its a mad minute at 100yards. only if you use the enfield you are limited to five rounds at a time

  • A lee endfield 303 is not the best gun of WWI or WWII.I mean not the best bolt action. The Mauser Kar 98K was a lot more powerfull and the Mosin Nagant a realy good gun.

  • @fanfuckingtasticity I own all three.

Mauser : Excellent quality action. Moderately smooth bolt pull. Crisp trigger pull. Moderate recoil. Adequate sights. Low magazine capacity. Excellent Accuracy. Excellent reliability. Good handling.

  • @fanfuckingtasticity

Enfield : Excellent quality action. Extremely smooth bolt pull. Crisp 2 stage trigger pull. Moderate recoil. Good/Excellent sights. High magazine capacity. Good/Excellent Accuracy. Excellent reliability. Excellent handling.

Mosin : Good quality action. Heavy bolt and trigger. Heavy recoil. Adequate sights. Low magazine capacity. Exceptional reliability. Poor handling.

  • @fanfuckingtasticity

    Of the 3 cartridges :

8mm Mauser was a rimless round which is still popular in hunting arms today. Excellent ballistic qualities.

.303 british is an outdated rimmed round but still popular due to surplus Enfields. Good ballistic qualities and slightly less power than the 8mm. Was originally black powder.

7.62 x 54R is another outdated round, but still popular thanks to the USSR. Similar ballistics and power to .30-06.

They're all close in my books.

  • @jiggiwatt 7.62x54R was introduced in 1891 and has been used in every war since. Hardly outdated.

  • @mbs357 Perhaps a better term would be 'dated'. It's still a useful round, but you can't escape the fact that it's a 120 year old berdan primed(primarily) rimmed cartridge.

  • @jiggiwatt And a lot of people forget that the case is produced primarily out of steel and why change something that works, battle proven, and is cheap to manufacture for an army of millions?

  • @mbs357 The only people that still use that old russian round use surplus weapons with it, the russians don't use it anymore, insurgents in the east and asia mainly still use it, besides people sporting with it, it is an outdated round no matter how you'd like to split hairs and argue semantics

  • @Taud So your saying the SVD is out of service and is surplus? Along with the RPD?????

  • @saltydog45 yeah the dragunov is considered surplus now, countries like vietnam and laos have and use them for their long range, your from NZ so i wouldnt expect you to know that, as well as there being tons of surplus dragunovs for sale here in north america, as for the rpd, yeah thats old news as well, you havent looked into the ak74 u or the VSS "vintorez"? those are the new standard.....

  • @Taud Yep,technology has moved on.Its been interesting watching what is coming out of ex combloc countries. The Chezs are producing some amazing weapons,China has even started catching up with the world!I think the worlds forces will head away from the 5.56 but the cost of rearming in todays money makes it prohibitive,to go to a sub 7mm round. In NZ there are massive restrictions on anything over a seven round mag in a semi auto, and autos are only collected. So we miss out on the good stuff

  • @saltydog45 canada has a lot of it, its just restricted to your house and the shooting range, or the magazine is pinned to 5 or 10 rounds sometimes, gun prohibition and restriction is just crap it never works for citizens

  • @Taud Yep,those worried about breaking the law are the ones who suffer, and the crims really dont give a flying fk about it.

  • @jiggiwatt Yes,they will all stop an enemy target with ease.

  • @jiggiwatt Here in Africa the .303 British is still big business. We use it to hunt almost anything here. Obviously not big dangerous game like Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo.

I own both a .303BR and a 8x57 Mauser. The 8mm has a bit more of a punch, but also has more recoil. The .303, however, is much cheaper to shoot.

  • @fanfuckingtasticity it depends what your talking about- the mauser was alot more difficult to produce (since the germans were more interested in stamping everything (including the firing pin) but was probubly the best produced- regardless- the lee enfield is legendary- and the mosin nagant 91/30, m44, an other variants are still extremely popular milsurp rifles all over.

  • @fanfuckingtasticity Who told you that then?

  • @fanfuckingtasticity Perhaps you should get a grammar lesson...

just because you play Call of Duty doesn't make you a weapons expert - you didn't say why you thought that those firearms were better. Did you know in 1916 the German Empire believed the British Empire soldiers were armed with Fully Automatic weapons due to how fast the Lee-Enfield shot each round. The Mauser did fire a larger round (the 7.92mm Kurz rather than the .303 round so that would make it more powerful but not a better gun.

  • @Cozsack Thats a common story yet it has no proof in reality what so ever, it was said to be part of the british propaganda in order to further their rifles popularity and trying to scare their enemies theres no written or verbal accounts from the germans side that confirm this story, its always some kid with an enfield that thinks hes bad ass now because he heard that story and bought one, the ppl that tell it are typically UK or north american, not german big surprise

  • ....its a long way to Tipperary.

  • get off my lawn !

  • What's the name of the song in the beginning of the video?

  • @MrVitorZaupa The name of the song is..Its a long way to Tipperary.

  • 0:54 should be a jamming animation for the Hunting Rifle in Fallout 3/New Vegas :P

  • @edbo10 should have this my favorite bolt action

  • @jiggiwatt damn thats really pretty good for it to be your first time. for the enfield to be such an outdated rifle it has a great action and a very unique cocking system

  • You did pretty good for a first timer! One tip, when you strip off a clip you don't need to toss it, just send the bolt forward and it will knock it out of the way. Also, when you load the charger clips take the time to insert each round correctly so that they won't jam when you cycle the bolt. I you learn to keep your cheek against the stock you'll fire even faster. Keep it up!!

  • that was more of a slightly perplexed than mad minute!

  • did you get this rifle online, and if so what price. ive benn looking for one on the webb but so far theyve had some outrageous prices

  • @19MEJIA93 I purchased it through a classified section of a major Canadian firearms website. I paid around $600 if I recall correctly, and that was after some negotiation. I'm not sure what they're going for right now, but a moderate condition No4MkI* will probably run you in the range of $400 when I was looking. Mine is in Excellent+ condition, all Canadian, all original with the ladder type rear site...so I paid the premium. Probably worth closer to $800 really.

  • @19MEJIA93 outrageous prices ? i know a guy who has a literal warehouse full of them stacked like fire wood from floor to ceiling i bought one from him be it 20 years ago for $89.00 i can't see them going for much more then $200 now s sporters it's in Penn run Pennsylvania if you can get a hold of him search relics and curios dealers

  • The other exception is the ARs, if you can get the mags that are listed as being for the AR pistol which is allowed a 10 round because it is a pistol. The same mag will also work in a regular AR there by getting around the 5 round limit.

  • This proves that the arguments for banning& heavily-restricting full-bore semi-autos are weak.Stupid do-gooders have no idea.

  • I can add a couple of things. The record for the mad minute was 38 in a minute by a Canadian. Would love to say it was an Aussie but it seems a Canadian was the best. This involved hitting a 12 inch target at 200 yards so obviously the rifle can be very accurate. This was done free standing with iron sights. Think of that 38 rounds in one minute into a 12" target 200 yards away free standing with iron sights. My own shooting is pretty poor by comparison.

  • @studley2436 It was 300yds, fyi

  • @studley2436 It was 300 yards, PRONE position, and he was British - Sergeant Instructor Alfred Snoxall.

  • @No1sonuk I did find a reference on WIkipedia that says 300 yards. The Lee Enfield Rifle Association says on its page that the SMLE Postal Competition is shot at 200 yards prone. You can see it here

The Military channel also reports it as 200 yards. I think we can say it was 200 yards prone. So far as the record holder goes I have no information to add

  • This is one of three classic rifles I'd love to try out. The other two are a Springfield 1903 and a Mauser 98k.

  • That thing is beautiful, the wood looks perfect, how much did that cost you?

  • But then having read your description i see its the first time you fired it, so forgive my instructions, i thought you were well versed in its use.

  • When doing the "mad minute" your supposed to have your thumb and fore finger on the bolt and middle finger on the trigger, practise with that method and eventually you'll get more rounds off.

Thats how our troops in the trenches got upwards of 25 rounds off in a minute (theres rumours of 40 rounds being fired but i cant see that myself), to the point where advancing Germans thought they were under machine gun fire when they were in fact facing a British rifle squad.

  • @Saxonsoldiers The record is 38 aimed at 300 yards, so I'd say it's possible for more than 38 if they're not aimed, but just "pointed in the general direction of the enemy".

  • wait. you have a 10 round centre fire lee enfield in Canada?

  • @CentredOne Since it's a bolt action, there's no limitation on the number of rounds the magazine can hold. For semi-auto centrefire rifles, it's 5 rounds (10 in pistols) and semi-auto rimfire has no limit.

  • @jiggiwatt oh really? Thanks. That definitely helps me out.

  • @jiggiwatt I didnt think Canadas gun laws were that strict. But id be willing to give up a few rounds in my magizine to get all the other benefits of living in canada.

  • @jiggiwatt actually the limit on a bolt action in Canada is ten rounds (because there are so many lee's kicking around) semi auto center fires are limited to five with the exception of the Garand which is an 8 round clip. there is one other exception, but I can't remember what it is right now....

  • @Rossco139 I don't believe there's actually a limit on bolt action rifle magazine capacity, but I could be wrong. I've seen the occasional (and quite rare) 20 round magazines they tried with the SMLE in the First World War.

  • @jiggiwatt There's conflicting information. On one hand, the RCMP site says 5 round centrefire limit, with the exception of the Lee-Enfield and M1 Garand. On the other hand, the law seems to indicate that the 5 round magazine limit is only on non-manual rifles (so pump, lever, bolt are all as much as you can cram in). Of course, that doesn't mean much when the AR-15 is popular but you can still use the LAR-15 handgun magazine in it.

  • @jiggiwatt no, your right

  • @jiggiwatt

There are no limits on magazine capacity for ANY manual action; Bolt, Pump and Lever inclusive, and no limits on any Rimfire longarm (26" +), regardless of action type. There is a 10 round limit on semi-automatic handguns and a 5 round limit on all semi-automatic centerfire rifles/shotguns.

  • @Rossco139 SKS

  • @303BoltAction Thank you! I believe There is one other...If you use a certain type of mag (LAR-15?) then you can use a ten rounder in your M4/M16/AR rifle.

  • @Rossco139 Any AR are restricted in Canada (if you didn't know that), so i'm not 100% sure if there is round cap on them seeing that you can only shoot them on a range or on your own property, and they are not aloud to hunt. which really sucks and i don't have my restricted licence yet :( which sucks even more

  • @303BoltAction Yeah I know, (which is as stupid as the AK being banned) but there is deffinately a mag cap. it applies to all semi auto's with the exception of the Garand, SKS and rimfires. I didn't know you could fire a restricted if you were on your own property..that could be dangerous..*roles eye's* I just looked it up, and I'm pretty sure that's illegal.

  • @Rossco139 lol if it is illegal.....oops....its my property i can do what i want and i'm in the middle of no where so who is gonna know, i don't hunt with them of course because that is TOTALLY illegal

  • @303BoltAction lol if it is illegal.....oops....its my property i can do what i want and i'm in the middle of no where so who is gonna know, i don't hunt with them of course because that is TOTALLY illegal

  • @Rossco139 your mistaken, there is no limit on our manually loaded firearms ( bolt action, pump, lever, )

  • @Rossco139 SKS?

  • @Rossco139 semi auto is the only one with limited magazines friend, ive got plenty of friends who are weekend snipers with 10-20 round bolt actions....

  • @jiggiwatt these laws are silly. In New Zealand my 10/22 cant use the 25 round mags or I need a special class of licence for 'military style semi automatics' (big trouble if you use it without one) but I can glue 3 10 round mags together on a basic licence. STOOPID. If its a bolt gun then go for it, whatever you care to carry. A semi centre fie is limited to 7 rounds but bolt is again whatever. Nice gun you have too. Im done moaning now :)

  • @CentredOne The Lee Enfield .303 is one of the only guns that the Canadian gun laws have bent the rules for, because they are such a historically significant weapon, the 10 cartridge magazine is allowed to be kept legally, Although the .303 is considered a high powered weapon, so I do believe you need a specailized gun license.

  • @PuffAStickyIckyBlunt For any rifle (excepting flintlock, matchlock and wheel lock) manufactured after 1898, you need a firearms license. For the majority of long arms, this is just the Non-Restricted Possession and Acquisition License. As a note, assuming you have a flintlock, matchlock, percussion or wheel lock single-shot black powder pistol, you still need a Restricted license, no matter what year it was manufactured.

  • @CentredOne mine is 10

  • would u recomend using this as a hunting rifle?

  • @koreanboyww2 That would depend on what you hunt I imagine. I don't hunt myself, but the .303 is a good round for most game. In Canada, there's a good supply of soft point ammunition for that purpose. The rifle itself can be as accurate as the shooter and with the right rifle and ammunition I've seen 1-1.5 MOA.

If you ARE going to hunt with one and want a scope, buy one with the mount already installed, as it's bad form to tap and drill an unmodified one and will severely reduce resale value.

  • @koreanboyww2 the .303 british will more than suffice as a hunting rifle. 150 gr. does good on deer. So i've heard. Never actually used one. But i figure if you're hunting anything bigger than a deer just up the weight of your bullet.

Balistically the 303 and the 308 are similar, if that helps.

  • @koreanboyww2 DefinetLEE!!

  • @koreanboyww2 no its a collector

  • Epic win!

  • Yeah I sometimes have the same problem feeding the ammunition in to my No4 and my jungle carbine.

  • i got one for about 120 € in very good conditions, years ago .

  • I hear ya brother. I take mine out once a year. The bullets around here are about 27$ per box of 20. So I shoot .22lr in the meantime. I apologize to all the purists out there..I've removed all the wood and replaced it with a Monte Carlo carbon fiber stock and forepiece.

  • man where did u get that?????

  • @stephanosmixail private sale. They're not too hard to find in Canada, as long as you're willing to pay for the better condition ones.

  • i live in greece guns r a bit hard to find except for hunting rifles, the army was selling some old ones but they were blocked and it was only for ex army officers.........so i dont stand a chance.cheers m8

  • i liv in greece...i dont think u can find many guns on leagal posession.....only smugled ones

  • Just make sure the rims arnt overlapping in the wrong order

  • What factory is the gun from, BSA, Lithgow, Long Branch, Savage?

  • @strechinpick Says right at the beginning of the vid =) Long Branch.

  • @strechinpick Thanks man didn't see that. I've got a Long Branch "1950". Mine shoots great, you couldnt ask for a nicer rifle!

  • when i grow up i just wanna get one simple, non-sophisticated rifle, this looks pretty good

  • Pretty good video I'd say, I live in the UK so meh.

  • The guy did pretty good for his first time out in the field. I'd jump at the chance to own a firearm like that. The Military Channel show "Top Tens" rated it at #3... only the M-16 (#2) and the AK-47(#1) were rated better. The remainder of the lineup: M-1 Garand (#4), FN-FAL (#5), Mauser 98K (#6), Steyr AUG (#7), Springfield 1903 (#8), STURMGEWEHR 44 (#9), M-14 (#10). Not a bad mix, eh?

  • Very nice Enfield. I've done the same thing with my stripper clips too. It happens. I'm in Canada as well and have noticed the surplus market for .303 ammo has dried up. I, myself am curious about the Wolf ammo too. Have used it in 7.62X39 with good results, but have not seen any in .303 british. Saw your video with your sks. Looks like a laminated stock? I have a russian as well, non laminated. Have fun shooting! Cheers!

  • @sixgun1973 Yeah, I have about 400 pieces of brass for reloading, but no equipment for doing it yet :) The SKS I have is laminated...I use it as a shooter more than a collector pieces. Next SKS will be unlaminated and a safe queen.

  • Where in the world did you find such a good looking Enfield?

I swear that thing looks brand new from the factory.

  • @Tsentralnaya I got it from a private sale. I looked long and hard for it :) It has a few little dings here and there in the wood, but the metal still has 100% blueing and the bore looks brand new. It cost a good deal of coin :)

  • where do u buy this in the US

  • @CR9soccerdude Hell if I know. Private sale, gun shows ? If it was permissible, I'd buy one here and trade you for a FAL, or G3 or something else pretty that I can't buy up here. I think I'm going to need a place in the US just so I can play with some of these toys...

  • Shame that it is nearly impossible to buy one of these in the UK, where it was designed

  • truly a shame, but why dident you just tell your gov,t to fuck off or at least hide your weapons. i saw footage of people simply turning their guns over.

  • You that only about 10% of people handed in the guns? Most of them were given to crims, since it would have been pointless for an ordinary bloke to keep one unless he wanted to be arrested.

  • you could have fought for your right to reamain armed, and i mean that in as literal a sence as possible.

  • I'm not going to get into this ridiculous argument over gun rights/laws in the UK vs. US vs. Canada except to say this : An armed insurrection is a little extreme, and would have resulted in even harder crackdowns on gun owners as well as in quite a few completely unnecessary deaths.

Anytime you're in Canada, you're welcome to put a bandoleer or two of .303 down range with my Enfield :)

  • Yep I'm hearing that a crackin' rifle that has taken many wild pigs here in Australia.

  • cheat

your gun was resting on something

  • with the charger clips stack them 3 rims up and 2 down or 2 up and 3 down. does not matter which way you do it and charger clips stacked either way will load into the same magazine.

  • That's a nice looking Lee Enfield. You shoot it very smoothly when you have the rounds loaded correctly. The ammo you are using is excellent for accuracy and longer range shooting but if you want cheap ammo for a "mad minute" get some cheap surplus and make sure to clean really well afterwards. Or you can get Wolf Gold and S&B which aren't priced too badly and are non-corrosive. For loading the stripper clips always place the rim of the next round in front of the preceding one.

  • Thank you, it's a beautiful Enfield. I was looking at the Wolf Gold 174gr FMJ's, I'm just not sure how cheap they end up being after shipping, as I don't have any locally available. I loaded the stripper clips correctly, I think however the last round's rim slipped behind the second last when I loaded.
